Age is no barrier to friendship

It is sometimes claimed that age is a barrier to a friendship. On the whole, I don’t agree with that
opinion. I think that people pick friends by their interest and outlook on life, not by their age.
It seems to me that a barrier of age is just old-fashioned attitude because a person didn’t change
over time, only his attitude changes. There’s a lot of people who are friends with a big age difference
in my environment and it doesn’t bother them. They are friends just like they would be with their
age people.
Most people agree with me that being friends with an older person makes you grow up and
expand your view. Because the older person is, the more life experience he has. Being friends with a
person who is a few years older has a lot of advantages. That person usually has a lot of interesting
life experience stories from which you can learn and don’t repeat their mistakes. Furthermore,
because of their life experience they can give you useful advice if you need it.
To sum up, I think having an older friend makes you improve yourself and your outlook. And in my
view, it’s very great for your personality.
