Introduction
The way producing a plosive consonant is
mainly characterized by a complete
obstruction somewhere along the speech
tract, and after which the air is suddenly
released so that an explosive sound is
heard.

Articulatory Definition:
/d/ is a voiced alveolar stop.

Articulatory Description:
The way of producing /d/ is the
same as /t/ except that:
1. The vocal cords are vibrating
during the stoppage
2. The breath force is weaker and is
not aspirated.

Articulatory Definition:
/k/ is a voiceless velar stop.

Articulatory Description:
The outgoing air is completely blocked up by putting the back of
the tongue into close contact against the soft palate
Soft palate is also raised to close off the nasal cavity
The vocal cords are not in vibration during the stoppage
When there is a sudden release of the stoppage, the air escapes
with a plosion.
The voiceless stop is aspirated in strongly stressed syllables, and
unaspirated in weakly stressed syllables.

/g/
Articulatory Definition:
/g/ is a voiced velar stop.

same as /k/ except that:
