 TYPE OF PIPE

1. GALVANIZED IRON PIPE

FUNCTION : - GI Pipes or Galvanized Iron Pipes are widely used for the purpose of conveying
raw water and distribution of treated water in many rural water supply schemes,
where the requirement of water is limited.
2. PLASTIC PIPEWORK
FUNCTION :- PVC pipes are commonly used for manufacturing sewage pipes, water mains and
irrigation. Possessing very long-lasting properties, PVC pipes are easy to install,
lightweight, strong, durable and easily recyclable, making them cost-efficient and
sustainable.
3. POLI PIPE
FUNCTION:- Poli pipe is used for the conveyance of drinking water, waste water, chemicals,
heating fluid and cooling fluids, foodstuffs, ultra-pure liquids, slurries, gases,
compressed air, irrigation, plastic pressure pipe systems, and vacuum system
applications. It can also be used for structural applications
4. ABS PIPE
FUNCTION:- ABS PIPE is used in drain-waste-vent pipe systems and sewer systems. It is also
used as electrical insulation. PVC is also used to produce pipes such as for drain-
waste- vent systems and for insulation on electrical cables
5. COOPER PIPE
FUNCTION:- Copper pipes are commonly used in the construction industry for water supply
lines and refrigerant lines in HVAC (heating, cooling, and air-conditioning)
systems Copper pipes can be manufactured as soft or rigid copper and offer
excellent corrosion-resistance and reliable connections.
 PLUMBING TOOLS

1. PIPE CUTTER
FUNCTION:- Pipe cutter is a type of tool used by plumbers to cut pipe such as pvc pipe and poly
pipe. Besides producing a clean cut, the tool is often a faster, cleaner, and more
convenient way of cutting pipe than using a hacksaw, although this depends on
the metal of the pipe.
2. WHEEL PIPE CUTTER
FUNCTION :- Wheeled pipe cutters are used to cut pipes made from copper, brass, plastic and
thin-walled electrical metal tubing (EMT). Unlike a saw, this tool makes a clean
uniformed cut using a sharp metal wheel
3. MEASURING TAPE
FUNCTION :- Tape measure, or measuring tape is a type of hand tool typically used to measure
distance or size of pipe in plumbing work . It is like a much longer flexible ruler
consisting of a case, thumb lock, blade/tape, hook, and sometimes a belt clip. A
tape measure will have imperial readings, metric readings or both.
4. PIPE WRENCH
FUNCTION:- A pipe wrench is any of several types of wrench that are designed to turn
threaded pipe and pipe fittings for assembly (tightening) or disassembly
(loosening). The Stillson wrench, or Stillson-pattern wrench, is the usual form of
pipe wrench, especially in North America.
5. ADJUSTABLE SPANAR
FUNCTION :- Adjustable spanner is an open-ended wrench with a moveable jaw. Its function is
the same as any regular spanner to grip fasteners, such as pipe and pipe fittings
that has a shape. However, only adjustable spanners can grip fasteners of all sizes
6. LUBRICANT OIL
FUNCTION:- A lubricant oil is a substance that helps to reduce friction between surfaces of pipe
and wheel pipe cutter. which ultimately reduces the heat generated when the
surfaces move. It may also have the function of transmitting forces, transporting
foreign particles, or heating or cooling the surfaces. The property of reducing
friction is known as lubricity.
7. PIPE THREADER
FUNCTION:- Pipe threaders are one of the essential tools that has the ability and precision to
cut threads on the ends of a pipes to both the female and male attachment. It can
be used in various applications in different industries including mining, plumbing,
and even in heavy industrial applications and many others.
8. THREAD SEAL TAPE
FUNCTION :- Thread seal tape (also known as PTFE tape, Teflon tape, or plumber's tape) is a
polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film tape commonly used in plumbing for sealing
pipe threads. The tape is sold cut to specific widths and wound on a spool,making
it easy to wind around pipe threads.
9. PIPE REAMER
FUNCTION:- Pipe Reamers are used to deburr steel pipe before threading. The pipe reaming
cone is made from tool steel and hardened for maximum life. Unique cutting edge
makes this spiral pipe reamer self-feeding and easy to start and operate.
10. RASP
FUNCTION:- Rasp is a coarse form of file used for coarsely shaping wood or other material
such as pvc pipe, poly pipe, GI pipe. Typically a hand tool, it consists of a generally
tapered rectangular, round, or half-round sectioned bar of case hardened steel
with distinct, individually cut teeth.
 FITTING

1. GI SOCKET
FUNCTION :-Reducing sockets are used to join together two pieces of imperial GI pipe of
different diameters.

2. GI REDUCING SOCKET
FUNCTION:-Its use is to connect two pipes that have different diameters. This is different
From a socket that can only connect PVC pipes with the same diameter. Reducers
have two different types. The elbow reducer serves to deflect and reduce the flow
of water while the socket reducer functions to connect straight pipes and reduce
the flow inside the socket.

3. GI EQUAL TEE
FUNCTION:-An equal tee, otherwise called straight tee, means the branch diameter of this tee
is same with the main pipe (Run pipe) diameter of this tee. A pipe tee is defined
“equal” when the bore size at the run and branch sides have the same diameter.
4. GI EQUAL ELBOW
FUNCTION:- G.I fittings are usually used to connect steel pipes/galvanized pipes. Available in
many different types and sizes. Used in various applications like steam, air, water,
gas, oil, and other fluids

5. GI REDUCING ELBOW
FUNCTION:-GI reducing elbow is a type of fitting which is used to join two pieces of pipe of
different sizes. The reducing elbow is so called because it looks like a reducing
piece and elbow combined into one. Reducing elbows have different sized
openings on each end and hence they can connect two different sized pipes.

6. PVC REDUCING SOCKET

FUNCTION:-Its use is to connect two pipes that have different diameters.

7. PVC EQUAL SOCKET

FUNCTION:-PVC equal socket are usually to connect two PVC pipe with the same diameters.

8. PVC EQUAL TEE

9. PVC REDUCING TEE
FUNCTION：-Reducing tee, like all pipe tees, is in the shape of T with two ends of equal size
and the third one slightly smaller. In other words, reducing tee is a type of pipe
fitting in which the branch port size is smaller than the ports of the run.

10. REDUCING COUPLER

FUNCTION:- The reducing coupling can also be used to insert small diameter ancillary
equipment, such as valves, flow meters and inspection or maintenance ports, into
large diameter pipe circuits.
