Note on operating force of Howard

Johnson motor
I present a brief note on the operating force of Howard Johnson motor previously
uploaded on twitter several years ago. Because the upload at that time were scan copies
of calculation on papers, it were very unintelligible. I now again present the calculation
result.

Calculation of driving force of Howard Johnson motor

First, in the patent of Howard Johnson, the motor is driven by permanent magnets array. For ease of
calculation, I approximate each permanent magnet as magnetic dipole moments. And relationship
between magnetic dipole moments and coordinates axes are shown in Fig. 1.

With reference to Wikipedia on magnetic dipole interaction, a force exerted on dipole m2 is given by
N 0=m 2×B(r 2) (1)
The magnetic field generated by the magnetic dipole is given by
^ 1 ) R−m
3 ( R⋅m ^ 1
B(r 2 )= 3
(2)
R
, where
^ R
R=r 2 −r 1 , R=
R
^
m 1=( 0 ,m1 , 0), m 2=(m2 , 0 , 0) , R=(0 , R , 0), R=(0,1,0)
and, r1 and r2 are positions of dipoles m1 and m2, respectively.
Brief Calculation shows,
2m1
B(r 2 )= 3 (0,1,0) (3)
R
2m1 2 m1 m2
N 0=(m2 , 0 , 0)× 3 (0,1,0)= (0,0,1)
R R3
Therefore, two perpendicularly directed dipole interaction causes the driving force in the direction
perpendicular to the plane which includes two dipoles directions.
Conclusion
The interaction between magnetic dipoles directed to mutually perpendicular directions generates
the driving force without injecting energy into the system. Therefore, using the driving force would
make a free energy generator possible. Maybe, unoperability of Howard Johnson motor would be
due to wrong orientation of permanent magnets in armature.
