1. The researcher will use either parametric or nonparametric approaches to build above-ground biomass models using NDVI data from remote sensing imagery, with the possibility of incorporating SAR data if the initial models are not statistically strong.
2. Field data collection will involve stratified random sampling using circular plots along transects, measuring all trees over 5cm DBH and collecting soil samples for analysis.
3. The proposed budget is Rp16,980,000 to cover activities like field work, lab analysis, transportation, supplies, personnel costs and reporting.

BENGKALIS REGENCY Research Method and Budget Proposal of Megan’s Undergraduate Thesis research
1. Research Method
Important note:
Either parametric or nonparametric approach will be used to make the AGB
biomass model. The quality of the model depens on the size and the quality of the sample. In this study, every class of NDVI requires minimum of 3 sample for the total class ranged between 3-5 classes. There will be a possibility of using active sensor data (Sentinel 1 SAR - backscatter value) if the former model doesn’t perform well statistically.
Field Measurement
The sampling method is stratified random sampling using linier transect
circular plot with 30 meters interval between each plot in the same transect. The circular plot radius is 11,2 meters in every class. All trees with diameter >5cm will be measured to gather diameter at breast height data. Species identification of the tree is required to build the biomass model. The identification will be conducted afterwards based on the picture of the trees and through the identification process. Peat data will be collected in each class to be analyzed in Soil Laboratory of Universitas Riau. 2. Budget Proposal
Based on the methodology above, the budget proposal to conduct the
