1. Can you each tell me a bit about yourself and your role in the band?

Tom = “Hi I’m Tom, I play guitar and I do vocals, Im 17 and I’m from Manchester”
Aaron = “I’m aaron, I play drums and also all the recording and mixing for the band”
Rio= “I’m Rio and I play bass”

2. How did you decide to make a band?

Tom = “Well I wrote something over a year ago and then I recorded it on my own and then I
wanted to play with a band so i asked them if they wanted to be in a band”

3. How did each of you get into music?

Tom = “Through my parents really”
Aaron = “I went to see a band with my dad and then I got very invested in music and started
to learn how to play drums when I was 10”
Rio = “I stole a guitar from my primary school in year 5 because I was having guitar lessons
and then decided I didn’t need them”

4. How would you describe your band?

Rio = “Meaty. Chronically online.”
Tom = “A bit of noise rock, alternative rock, a bit of math rock”

5. Can you tell me your favourite moment so far as a band?

Tom = “Just releasing the single really, and hearing what people had to say about them”

6. What is your biggest achievement so far?

Aaron = “Playing band on the wall in a week or so”
Tom = “Yeah playing a gig at band on the wall in Manchester, yeah that’s a big
achievement”

7. What would you like to achieve in the future?

Aaron = “Do more gigs and we’re making merch and release more singles and an ep soon”

8. Where do you find inspiration for your music?

Tom = “I guess actually playing and practising guitar because it makes it more interesting if
you write stuff instead of just practising”

9. Who are your favourite artists/bands?

Tom = “My favourite artist right now is LCD Soundsystem”
Rio = “Daft punk”
Aaron = “Osees, two drummers, they give a lot of inspiration”

10. What artists/bands would you say influence you and why?
Tom = “Sonic youth, smashing pumpkins”
Rio = “Dinosaur Jr. , sabado”

11. What is the meaning behind the songs “Tortoise” and “Dumb Sombrero”?
Tom = “Basically I wrote lyrics for it, just to have lyrics and something nice over it….Because
I don’t really care about meanings for lyrics, I’m not really a singer so i prefer just to write
guitar stuff but then lyrics just add to it and I guess people can interpret what they think
about it”

12. How do you go about writing songs?

Tom = “Basically I will write something like a guitar thing and I’ll have parts for it and then I’ll
take it to them and then Rio will write a bassline for it and aaron will come up with the
construction and the drum parts, and it kind’ve comes together and I’ll write lyrics straight
after and then we record it and tweak it”

13. How would you describe the band in three words?

Tom = “Noisy”
Rio = “Preposterous”
Tom = “Loud”
Rio = “Silly”
Tom = “Noisy, loud, and crazy”

14. When writing music what themes do you prefer to write about?
Aaron = “Go on tom this ur question”
Tom = “See that’s the thing I don’t write the lyrics about anything”
Aaron = “They're quite introspective though arent they”

15. What would each of your dream venues be to perform at?

Tom = “Band on the wall and we’re literally playing it because I’ve seen gigs at that venue”
Aaron = “I’d like to play invisible wind factory, it’s pretty high aim but I do really like that
venue”
Rio = “O2 would be fine”

16. What song would each of you love to cover at your gigs?
Rio = “Rolf Harris”

Tom = “You know what would be quite sick? Toe cutter thumb buster by the Osees”
Aaron = “Going up the country by Canned Heat”
Rio = “Get up on top of that thing”
Aaron = “Get up off of that thing!”

17. Have you got any music in the works as of currently and can you tell me anything
about it?
Tom = “Yeah we’ve got like 5 or 6 songs unreleased right?”
Aaron = “Yeah 5 or 6, we’re gonna put them on an EP, but we’ve just got to get the
motivation to get them all recorded”
Tom = “And I need to write some lyrics for some of them”

18. What plans do you have for upcoming shows?

Tom = “Well band on the wall yeah. We wanna contact a promoter so they can get us gigs
around warrington I guess and see if we can get people to go to it but nothing big because
we just need small gigs”
Aaron = “Yeah we’re doing it for fun”
 19. What’s next for the band?
Tom = “Well we’re going uni, me and aaron are going the same uni and Rio’s going Salford
which isn’t that far”
Aaron = “so we’re gonna sack him!”
Rio = “Yeah…”
Tom = “We can strill carry on in uni and if it’s in Leeds then we have more gig opportunities”
