    AFEX has updated the design of its sensors to use two 2-pin Deutsch plug connectors instead of one 4-pin connector to reduce stress and improve water protection. The updated sensor is the A700105. AFEX also created integrated end of line resistors within 2-pin Deutsch receptacles, available in 4.7kΩ (A724021) and 100kΩ (A729031) versions. The new designs will begin shipping in early 2019 and the old parts will be discontinued. Customers will receive the new sensors, connectors, and integrated EOLs with orders and can retrofit existing sensors using connector packages A700655 and A700660.

    A700105 SENSOR WITH 2PIN PLUGS


    A724021/A729031 INTEGRATED END OF LINE RESISTORS

    OVERVIEW:
    Based on distributor feedback and field testing, AFEX has improved the design of the sensor [ABOVE‐LEFT] to use two 
    2pin Deutsch plug connectors. Using two 2pin connectors instead of one 4pin connector has been shown to reduce stress 
    on the connectors and improve ingress protection. The updated sensor is part number A700105. 

    The updated sensor design also allowed AFEX to create an end of line resistor that is integrated within the body of a 
    2pin Deutsch receptacle [ABOVE‐RIGHT], which offers improved ingress protection and ease of installation. The integrated 
    EOL is available for both 4.7 kΩ (part number A724021 – grey in color) and 100 kΩ (part number A729031 – black in color) 
    installations, and can be used with sensors or linear detection wire. 

    The  updated  designs  will  begin  shipping  in  the  beginning  of  2019.  At  that  time  the  A700100  sensor  and  the 
    A703100/A703400/A724020/A729030 end of line resistors will be discontinued. 

    HOW THIS AFFECTS YOU:


    You will soon begin receiving the 2pin sensors, 2pin connectors, and integrated EOLs with new orders. As a reminder, 
    the connectors should be installed in the horizontal position to allow for proper drainage. 

    AFEX recommends having stock on hand of A700655 2pin Deutsch plug packages and A700660 2pin Deutsch 
    receptacle packages for use when replacing existing A700100 4pin sensors and A703100/A703400/A724020/A729030 
    end of line resistors. With these 2pin connector packages you will able to retrofit the connectors on the high temperature 
    wire from 4pin to 2pin without replacing the wiring or additional sensors.
