SERVICE MANUAL OIL-AIR COOLER UNITS

INSTRUCTIONS DE SERVICE REFROIDISSEURS HUILE-AIR
 SA OPERATING AND MAINTANANCE INSTRUCTIONS
FOR COOLER TYPES
OK- ELD; OK-EL, OKA-EL, OKAF-EL; OK-ELC; OK-
ELH; SC, SCA, SCAF, OK-P
INSTALLATION
A qualified technician should install the unit. It should
preferably be installed horizontally.
Unrestricted airflow should always be ensured. Please
refer to the dimensions W1 & W2 in each of the specific
product catalogues and our website for the ideal distance
on the air inlet and outlet side.
The inlet and outlet of the hydraulic connections are
labeled. The coolers must only be connected using
hydraulic threaded connections. Please refer to Table 1
for the highest permissible torque rating on the threaded
connections.
If the unit is installed outside, proper protection against
the weather should be fitted.
Coolers with feed pump:
The pipe or hose on the suction side should be able to
resist to vacuum pressure of max. 0.4 bar and have the
following minimum cross-section:

If the cooler is situated more than 4m away from the
tank, or the difference in height between the cooler and
the tank is more than 2m, the cross-section should be
correspondingly larger. The maximum permissible

PLEASE NOTE: UNITS WITH FEED PUMP MUST
NEVER RUN WITH CONNECTIONS CLOSED. A short
dry run with open connections (to check the direction of
rotation) does not do any damage.
Coolers with hydraulic motor:
The hydraulic motor has a drain port, which must be
connected to the tank.
Coolers with DC motor:
Check that the correct electrical connection +/- as
indicated on the plugs and the applicable tension. The
current draw at nominal voltage values, the
recommended fuse and the IP protection are indicated in
the product catalogue.
Coolers with 3PH and 1PH motor:
The tri-phase motors for EL, SC, OK-P series are multi-
tension, 50/60Hz, IP55. The one-phase and tri-phase
motors of the ELC series are single-tension, 50/60Hz,
IP55 except ELC0 which is IP20.
The electrical connection has to be made according to
country regulations and the information in the electric
motor box.
WORKING PRESSURE
The following maximum working pressures must not be
exceeded:
On units with a feed pump: 6 bar.
On units without a feed pump: 16 bar.
To protect the unit against pressure peak an optional by-
pass valve can be fitted.
BEFORE START-UP
Check for correct direction of rotation of the fan as
indicated on the label (see Fig.1). A wrong rotation may
damage the cooler permanently and reduce its cooling
performance!
Check the correct connection and the free flow of oil.
PLEASE ENSURE CORRECT VOLTAGE,
FREQUENCY, PRESSURE WHERE APPLICABLE.
FLUID COMPATIBILITY
Mineral oil to DIN 51524. Oil cleanliness grade
NAS12.
For all other fluids please contact our sales / technical
department.
MAINTENANCE
Generally The HYDAC cooler units are maintenance
free. A very dusty environment might necessitate
periodic cleaning of the heat exchanger. Cleaning should
only be done using a soft brush to avoid damaging the
fins of the element, which could reduce the performance
of the unit.
OKAF and SCAF coolers are fitted with a oil-filter
element. Its contamination must be monitored. Please
refer to the oil-filter instruction manual for its cleaning
and changing instructions.
QUALITY TEST REPORTS
All HYDAC cooler units are subjected to final quality
request.
GUARANTEE & NOTIFICATION OF FAULTS
All coolers are sold subject to the Hydac SA “GENERAL
CONDITIONS OF SALE AND DELIVERY”.
Any notification of fault under the guarantee should be
advised in writing using the ”Notification of Defects Form”
available from Hydac SA or downloadable from our
website www.hydac.ch.
We will not accept liability for improper usage.
ACCESSORIES
Thermostat: for simple temperature control. Can be built
into the unit or fitted to the tank.
IBP/IBT: Integrated Bypass Pressure (IBP) or pressure
and Temperature (IBT). This is integrated into the
radiator to avoid peak pressure and/or cold start
problems.

PER TIPI DI COOLER

INSTALLAZIONE
Il raffreddatore dovrebbe venire installato da un tecnico
qualificato, preferibilmente in orizzontale.
Assicurarsi che ci sia flusso libero d’aria. Fare riferimento
alle dimensioni W1 & W2 in ogni specifico catalogo di
prodotto e sul nostro sito internet per la distanza ideale sul
lato di entrata/uscita d’aria.
I raccordi idraulici di entrata e uscita sono marcati. I
raffreddatori sono da raccordare solo ed esclusivamente
con raccordi per l’oleodinamica. Il momento di serraggio
massimo dei raccordi è indicato nella Tabella 1.
Se l’unità viene installata all’aperto, si deve provvedere ad
una protezione adeguata contro le intemperie.
Raffreddatori con pompa di circolazione:
Il tubo o flessibile dovrebbe resistere a una depressione
massima d’aspirazione di 0.4 bar e avere una sezione di
passaggio minima di:

Se il raffreddatore è situato a una distanza superiore a 4m
dal serbatoio, o il dislivello è più di 2m, la sezione
dovrebbe essere proporzionalmente maggiorata. La
viscosità massima permissibilie è 350mm2/s (AVVIO
FREDDO).
NOTA BENE: UNITÀ CON POMPA DI CIRCOLAZIONE
NON DEVONO MAI ESSERE AZIONATE CON I
RACCORDI CHIUSI. Brevi azionamenti con tappi aperti
(controllare la direzione della rotazione) non arrecano
alcun danno.
Raffreddatori con motore idraulico:
Il motore idraulico è provvisto di un drenaggio che deve
essere raccordato al serbatoio.
Raffreddotori con motore DC:
Controllare la corretta connessione elettrica +/- come
indicato sul connettore, la tensione applicabile. Il corretto
assorbimento elettrico, rispetto al valore nominale, il
fusibile raccomandato e la protezione IP sono indicati sul
catalogo del prodotto.
Coolers con motore 3PH e 1PH:
I motori tri-fase per le serie EL, SC, OK-P sono
multitensione 50/60Hz, IP55. I motori monofasi e trifasi
della serie ELC sono monotensione 50/60Hz, IP55 escluso
l’ ELC0 che è IP20.
Il collegamento elettrico deve essere fatto secondo le
prescrizioni del paese e le informazioni riportate all’interno
della scatola elettrica del motore.
PRESSIONE D’ESERCIZIO
I seguenti carichi massimi di pressione non devono essere
superati:
Su unità con pompa di circolazione: 6 bar.
Su unità senza pompa di circolazione: 16 bar.
Per proteggere l’unità contro punte di pressione, un’
opzionale valvola by-pass può venire montata.
MESSA IN ESERCIZIO
Verificare la corretta direzione di rotazione della ventola
indicata sull’etichetta (v. Fig.1). Una rotazione errata
potrebbe danneggiare il raffreddatore irreparabilmente o
ridurre l’efficienza di raffreddamento!
Controllare il corretto allacciamento idraulico e accertarsi
che l’afflusso e il deflusso dell’olio sia libero.
VERIFICARE IL CORRETTO VOLTAGGIO, FREQUENZA
E PRESSIONE D’ESERCIZIO DOVE APPLICABILE. .
COMPATIBILITÀDI FLUIDI
Olio minerale DIN 51524. Qualità dell’olio richiesta
NAS12.
Per tutti gli altri fluidi per favore contattare il nostro team di
vendita o il nostro ufficio tecnico.
MANUTENZIONE
Generalmente i raffreddatori HYDAC sono esenti da
manutenzione. In un ambiente particolarmente polveroso
può rendersi necessaria una pulizia periodica dello
scambiatore di calore. La pulizia dovrebbe essere fatta
unicamente con una spazzola morbida per evitare il
danneggiamento delle lamelle di turbolazione del
radiatore, che di conseguenza potrebbe ridurre il
rendimento dell’unità.
I raffreddatori OKAF e SCAF sono equipaggiati con un
cartuccia filtrante. La sua contaminazione deve essere
monitorata. Per favore fate riferimento alle istruzioni di
servizio e manutenzione del filtro corrispondente per la
corretta sostituzione o pulizia.
CERTIFICATO DI CONTROLLO
Tutti I raffreddatori HYDAC sono soggetti a un controllo
finale di qualità. Il certificato di controllo è disponibile su
richiesta scritta alla HYDAC.
GARANZIA E NOTIFICA DI DIFETTI
Tutti I raffreddatori sono soggetti alle condizioni standard
Hydac SA, “GENERAL CONDITIONS OF SALE AND
DELIVERY”. La notifica di reclamo sotto garanzia
dovrebbe essere trasmessa per iscritto usando il modulo
”Notification of Defects Form” ottenibile alla Hydac SA o
scaricabile dal sito www.hydac.ch .
Non accetteremo reclami per uso improprio del prodotto.
ACCESSORI
Termostato per un semplice controllo della temperatura.
Può essere montato sul raffreddatore o sul serbatoio.
IBP/IBT: Bypass integrato di sovra pressione (IBP) o di
sovra pressione e temperatura (IBT). Questo è integrato
nel radiatore e concepito per evitare punte di pressione e/o
problemi di avvio a freddo.

POUR REFROIDISSEURS DU TYPE

ELH; SC, SCA, SCAF, OK-P
INSTALLATION
Un technicien qualifié doit installé l'unité. Celle-ci doit
être montée horizontalement.
Le débit d'air de refroidissement doit être libre
d'obstacles. Pour la distance idéale d’aspiration et de
refoulement d’air, veuillez vous référer aux dimensions
W1 et W2 dans chaque brochure spécifique au produit
ou sur notre site internet.
Les raccordements hydrauliques d'entrée et de sortie
sont indiqués. Les refroidisseurs doivent seulement être
connectés en utilisant les raccords taraudés. Veuillez
vous reporter au tableau 1 pour le couple de serrage
admissible le plus élevé.
Si l'unité se trouve à l'extérieur, une protection
appropriée contre les intempéries doit être installée.
Refroidisseurs avec pompe d'alimentation :
Le tuyau ou flexible côté aspiration doit pouvoir résister à
la pression de vide de max 0,4 bar et avoir le diamètre
minimum suivant :

Si le refroidisseur est à plus de 4m du réservoir ou la
différence de hauteur entre le refroidisseur et le réservoir
excède 2m, le diamètre doit être proportionnellement
plus large. La viscosité admissible ne doit pas excéder
350mm2/s (DEMARRAGE A FROID).
REMARQUE : NE JAMAIS METTRE EN MARCHE UNE
POMPE AVEC LES RACCORDS FERMES. Une brève
mise en marche à sec avec raccords ouverts (vérification
du sens de rotation) ne cause aucun dommage.
Refroidisseurs avec moteur hydraulique :
Le moteur hydraulique dispose d'un drain externe qui
doit être raccordé au réservoir.
Refroidisseurs avec moteur DC :
Vérifiez que le raccordement électrique +/- est correct et
conforme aux bornes et à la tension applicable. Les
valeurs de tension nominale, le fusible recommandé et
l'indice de protection sont indiqués dans le prospectus.
Refroidisseurs avec moteurs triphasés et
monophasés
Les moteurs triphasé pour séries EL, SC, OK-P sont
multitension, 50/60Hz, IP55. Les moteurs monophasés
et triphasés des séries ELC sont monotension, 50/60Hz,
IP55 sauf ELC0 qui est IP20.
Le raccordement électrique doit être effectué selon les
les prescriptions du pays et les informations sur le boîtier
électrique du moteur.
PRESSION DE SERVICE
Les pressions de services suivantes ne doivent pas être
dépassées :
Sur les unités avec pompe d'alimentation : 6 bar.
Sur les unités sans pompe d'alimentation : 16 bar.
Un by-pass peut être monté en option pour protéger
l'unité contre les pics de pression.
AVANT LE DEMARRAGE
Vérifiez que le sens de rotation du ventilateur correspond
à la plaque (voir figure 1). Un mauvais sens de rotation
peut endommager irréversiblement le refroidisseur et
diminuer sa performance de refroidissement !
Vérifiez que les raccordements sont exempts d'huile.
VERIFIEZ LE RESPECT DE LA TENSION, DE LA
FREQUENCE ET DE LA PRESSION.
FLUIDE COMPATIBLE
Huile minéral selon DIN 51524. Classe de protection de
l'huile NAS12.
Pour tout autre fluide, veuillez nous contacter.
MAINTENANCE
Les unités de refroidissement HYDAC sont
généralement exemptes de maintenance. Un
environnement fortement pollué peut nécessiter un
nettoyage régulier de l'échangeur thermique. Le
nettoyage doit être effectué avec une brosse douche
pour éviter d'endommager les lamelles de l'élément car
ceci pourrait réduire la performance de l'unité.
Les OKAF et SCAF sont montés avec un élément filtrant
et leur colmatage doit être surveillé. Veuillez vous
reporter au manuel pour le nettoyage et le remplacement
des filtres à huile.
CERTIFICATS DE CONTROLE
Toutes les unités de refroidissement HYDAC font l'objet
de tests qualité finaux. Le rapport du test qualité est
disponible sur demande écrite.
GARANTIE & NOTIFICATION DES DEFAUTS
Tous les refroidisseurs sont soumis aux "GENERAL
CONDITIONS OF SALE AND DELIVERY" de Hydac SA.
Toute notification de défaut durant la garantie doit être
indiquée par écrit en utilisant le "Notification of Defects
Form" disponible auprès de Hydac SA ou à télécharger
sur notre site internet www.hydac.ch.
Nous déclinons toute responsabilité en cas d'utilisation
non conforme.
ACCESSOIRES
Thermostat : pour contrôler la température. Peut être
installé sur l'unité ou monté sur le réservoir.
IBP/IBT : Bypass de pression Intégré (IBP) ou
Thermobypass intégré (IBT). Il est intégré dans le
radiateur pour éviter les pics de pression et/ou les
problèmes de démarrage à froid.
