SHORT REPORT WRITING ON APPLIED INTEGRATED
TECHNOLOGY ON A BUILDING

• INTRODUCTION
This a short report writing assignment that generally based on systematic
literature review technique. It is a start off point in applying knowledge of
building technology applications toward student’s design work. The report
begins with understanding specific literatures, critically appraised research
studies and synthesize findings towards its applications in student’s thesis design
work.

• OBJECTIVES
The objective of this assignment is to acquire an overview of research that had been
conducted on the selected topic in relation to technology of case study buildings to assist
in the design thesis and the technology to be applied later in the design thesis.

• AIMS
The aim of this assignment is to acquire a deeper understanding on specific study in
relation to application of technology to assist in the design thesis. This exercise can be a
preliminary or ground study towards submission of international innovation competition.
You are encouraged to get recognition of your research work in the innovation
competition such as iCAN 2022 and i2Create 2022. There will be minimum fee for
competition application of which students may get financial support from the school with
supervisor’s assistance (i2Create- RM150 & iCAN-RM650).

• METHODOLOGY
You are required to conduct as SLR based on the following the followings steps:
i. Create problem statements
ii. Identify research questions
iii. Define Research objectives
iv. Elaborate on SLR methodology
v. Data collection – literature search systematically
vi. Report Writing - Findings

• PRESENTATION
The presentation is based on power point or other media and also oral presentation of the
SLR findings presentation in a seminar and submission of a 12-15 pages of a seminar/journal
paper according to a template to be submitted online.
