FINAL PROJECT INTERMEDIATE 4

Good morning teacher and classmates Today I’ll talk about a little known tourist place of
Peru, HUANCAYA.

Huancaya is an ideal place for lovers of trekking and mountain, for the beautiful forest
that it offers. It is not usually among the most popular Peruvian destinations abroad,
because it is still a small town; but that is precisely its greatest charm.

Its lakes, its numerous water courses and its stepped waterfalls are the main attraction of
Huancaya.

LOCATION

It is located in the highland of Lima, at about 3,500 meters above sea level, to the north
Yauyos Cochas Landscape Reserve.

It is reached after approximately seven hours of travel from Lima. You can go by private
car or by travel packages in. Ideally, arrive in the afternoon or at night, spend the night
and acclimatize, and so start exploring the next day.

a. Laguna de Papacocha

It is worth getting up very early and witnessing at dawn this beautiful Vilca lake located
at over 3900m where the landscape is decorated with native totoras and trees.

b. Forest of love

It is a dream place nestled in the Yauyos River with a landscape of singular beauty
where the inhabitants have not stopped expressing their feelings.

c. Waterfalls of Carhuayno

The main attractive landscape of the Nor Yauyos Cochas reserve has a lot of relevance,
the visitors develop walks, but this walks can be exhausting, the visitors also can fishing
and wildlife observation.

d. Suspension bridge

Walking on waterfalls is an experience, attractive located on the east of the town, listen
to the melody of the waterfalls is like enjoying the symphony of the Yauyos River.

Huancaya is a high plateau and therefore some path are rocky, besides its visitors must
take care of some dangerous animals and insects like snakes or mosquitoes.
