Section A: Group discussion – Commercial viability of business ideas

With commercial viability in mind from DAB lecture 2, discuss your former KAB ideas in
your groups. Each member of the group is to comment on the commercial viability of the
KAB idea. Present to class as a group, the idea that is most commercially viable.

Section B: Group discussion – TAM SAM SOM

As a group, each member is to take up a separate case study for this exercise:
- Identify a globally successful companies, that were started after year 2000
- Each member of the group is to pick a different company
- For your selected company, using relevant prompts, use ChatGPT to do a TAM
SAM SOM analysis
- Read and understand clearly what is the TAM SAM SOM for your company,
explain your analysis to the group
- Pick 1 case study to present to the class

Section C: Group discussion – Switching costs

As a group, research “Google Stadia” – Google’s cloud gaming product. Using switching
costs, evaluate why Google Stadia failed.
