Introductory Message
Welcome to TVL 11 – ICT (Computer System Servicing)!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the

Schools Division of San Carlos City and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas
through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed
to guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents and responsible adults) in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to

guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The TVL 11 – ICT (Computer System Servicing) Activity Sheet will help you
facilitate the teaching-learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning
Competency (MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and
learner. This will be made available to the learners with the references/links to ease the
independent learning.

For the learner:

The TVL 11 – ICT (Computer System Servicing) Activity Sheet is developed

to help you continue learning even if you are not in school. This learning material
provides you with meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being
an active learner, carefully read and understand the instructions then perform the
activities and answer the assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on the
agreed schedule

II. Background Information for Learners

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are protective clothing designed to protect

the wearer’s body from risks cause by electrical hazards, heat, chemical and
infection for job-related occupational health and safety purposes.
Likewise, computer technicians also need to guard their computer against the
deadly effects of static electricity as well as take steps to prevent injury.

Static electricity is the discharge of electricity between two objects with different
electrical potential. To avoid Electro Static Discharge (ESD) technicians must use
the Anti-Static Devices. These are used to protect computers units from electro
static discharge. Table below shows the three popular Anti-Static Devices:

prevent static electricity from building up
and it is use to stand on computer
equipment and its components.

3. Anti-Static Bag-It is a bag made of

specialized plastic used for storing

electronic components, which are prone to
damage caused by electrostatic discharge
(ESD).

Using the PPE and wearing it properly can prevent unnecessary injury in the
workplace. Failing to wear it can be dangerous to the life of an employee.
