Theory on How to Become a Genius

EDIT: April 30, 2006: This essay was written by me in a day 2 years ago. It was never modified or revised and it contains errors in the english language. It is also highly influenced by Scientology, a religion I then was part of but I have partly left that since then. A proper revision of this essay will be done in the future but it still contains some very interesting information that I deem very valuable. Essay partly based on the works from L. Ron Hubbard a true genius. All the speculations, ideas and the essay itself was written on the second of June 2004, a day when I was in bed having a cold, by Jim Westergren one who wanted to become more intelligent. Introduction This is an essay with a very optimistic title the most optimistic title I have ever written to date. The dictionary defines genius as: Someone who has an unusually high level of intelligence, mental skill or artistic ability. The first thing to learn is that a person CAN become more intelligent, and I am sure even possible to become a genius, all by himself. And it is definitely not necessary to meditate 10 years on the top of a mountain in china to achieve it. In an issue entitled Genius from L. Ron Hubbard he is quoting Dr. Alfred Barrios who declared the following: Most people have the mistaken idea that geniuses are born, not made. To understand how to become more smart it is first necessary to understand how a person is thinking. L. Ron Hubbard made discoveries in 1956 regarding this and I will give here a summary. A person is thinking with DATA. The data a person has is ALIGNED. It is aligned on STABLE DATA. The stable data a person has may be correct or not be correct.

Example: A person X has a stable datum that all men has equal value. All right, this is the stable datum he operates on concerning people. He may know it or not know it and it does not matter where he had gotten it from whether it was Charles Darwin, Wilhelm Wundt, Karl Marx, Lenin, from the Bible or whoever told him this. His thinking, calculations, evaluations and actions concerning people is aligned with this stable datum. If for example person X sees the bum on the street, he may give him some coins and think that he is poor and that all people has the same value. If somebody will now tell person X that it is not true that all people has equal value, he will probably not believe it but if person X makes some observations that shows something else and he reevaluates it and now discounts the stable datum what will happen is that he will come into a state of confusion. All the data that was aligned to his stable datum is now no longer aligned. Now I will tell you something, which I strongly believe to be the case; people are mostly operating on wrong stable data, even on false data. A way for a person to become more smart is to reevaluate the stable data he is operating on to the correct ones and then align all the data he has to these new stable data. He will of course come into a state of confusion but this is only until he has established new stable data. Types of data All data is not the same. I made the following illustration to show datas relative importance.

Field 1: Vital data. Data in the field of true philosophy. Covers such things as understanding of life and how it operates, reason for existence, Metaphysics, etc. In short the greatest truths. Field 2: Valuable data. Data concerning how to do things and which helps you in your life. Data which help you understand things and how it works. Field 3: Useless data. Data that does not help you and has no value. Most data from TV, newspapers, school education and talking between people unfortunately falls under this field. Field 4: Destructive data. False data, data which makes you unhappy, data intended to bring about destruction. Unfortunately more than you believe. For a person to become more smart he has to recognize which data are of value for him. What is valuable for him also depends on what his purpose is but the above description still holds firm. He has to develop a skill to see which data are important for him in the ocean of data that he is operating in. A lot of data are made in the form of entertainment which I want to make a comment on. Entertainment is a big modern industry. TV, movies, books, radio etc. etc. I believe that if a person would have a strong purpose in his life and plays the game of life to reach his purpose he will not care so much about entertainment. So for me it shows that generally in the western hemisphere in which the entertainment business is big, people are lacking purpose. Examples: Lets take an example with one of my best Sci-Fi writers Isaac Asimov. He was writing fiction and non-fiction to such an extent that I dont believe he had any time at all for any entertainment. So lets say that somebody called him and told him that at 8 PM there is a program on TV about how to dress nicely. That would be useless data for him.

Lets take a baker and somebody tells him that nobody likes his bred. That would be destructive data. Lets take a person who wants to become a writer. He takes a course in writing in which he learns how to write. That would be valuable data. Lets take a taxi driver and he gets hold of a book that explains to him how his mind works and how to improve it. That would be vital data. A wife has problems to cook and she gets hold of a book on how to properly cook Valuable data. A kid does not like to play piano and gets a book as a present on how to play piano Useless data. A person does not intend to buy something but anyway looks in the catalog Useless data. This essay would not be of any real value if not contained any Vital data and the first thing I wish to say on this is that there is Vital data. Never accept Nobody knows. You will be startled to know how much truths has been found out which you have no idea on. Some Vital data: (Based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard. For full explanation and descriptions I refer you to the books, lectures and courses from Mr. Hubbard.) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. What is true is that you have observed yourself. Man is not an animal. Man is a spiritual entity capable of far far more than has ever been considered. The spiritual entity is not part of the physical universe but the creator of it. The spiritual entity is operating around three operations: Generation of truth, considering and perceiving. The current physical universe is the product of agreement between spiritual entities. The common denominator between all spiritual entities is the playing of a game and the anatomy of game consist of freedom, barrier and purpose. The spiritual entity cannot die but is operating on different awareness levels and different tones. The spiritual entity has to downgrade itself in order to play a game. When a spiritual entity has lack of games he accepts and plays games on lower levels.

10. There is no God but the spiritual entity of man could be considered to be a God when reached its potential capabilities. 11. The spiritual entities are animating life in an organism in the physical universe to play a game.

12. The current spiritual entities of man has been downgraded to an almost nonexistent level throughout its history. 13. Survival is the basic principle of existence concerning organisms. 14. Man is basically good. 15. Man is creating his future.

16. Man is creating his own feelings. 17. Communication is the most vital factor of life which when used establishes reality and affinity which leads to understanding.

18. Acceptance of responsibility increases cause level. 19. Destructive acts decreases cause level and puts the person effect. 20. The most vital factor of man is his reason. 21. The mind of organisms contains a section created for security for the organism, which operates on stimuli response and takes control of the organism ones the organism is in danger. As man has grown to a level higher than animals

the computations by the security section of the mind are not rational anymore and is the sole cause for psychosomatic illnesses and irrational behavior. This is handled by Dianetics therapy. 22. A minor percentage of man are destructive to their personality and are pushing man down and makes them effect. 23. A person is as valuable as he is helping others and supports life across all its sections. 24. The primary barrier in studying is the misunderstood word. 25. The planet is going down rapidly. 26. The planet can be saved with the science of Dianetics and the practical philosophy of Scientology. How to become a genius: (A theory as it was worked out by Jim Westergren) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Consider yourself being a genius and act like one in every moment of your life and you will very soon feel that you are one. Work out your time in such a way that every hour is properly utilized and put aside as much time as possible on becoming better. Established a good skill on recognizing which data are valuable and vital. Learn something new and valuable each day. In anything you read or observe make sure you understand it. Clear up the words you dont understand and ask or look up to understand observations which were not understood. Never pass by something you dont understand. Carefully choose a profession in which you earn your money for living and at the same time enables you to enhance your skill and abilities. Read a lot and carefully select which literature to read in which to gain the most valuable and vital data. Evaluate, look and make conclusions on anything you read and observe. Expect much more of yourself than what is expected from others.

10. Help people around you to the best of your ability and establish friends who can support you if needed. 11. Be very self-confident and certain but on the same time be open to listen, look and reevaluate to make new conclusions.

12. Know that no matter how good or skilled you are you can always become better and never cease to become more skillful in anything you do. 13. The true genius knows that it is not enough for himself having reached sky high levels he has to take the rest of mankind with him up and has dedicated his life in making it happen. By having read this essay you are already on your way to become a genius. Good luck.

really nice, but i strongly disagree about the spiritual entity of man being a God.Our need for Him is ever great not until we find him.GOD is the creator and so we must give HIM the due that he deserves.

Intresting article. Some typos, but nicely done.

Some guy before me said: really nice, .strongly disagree about the spiritual entity of man being a God.Our need for Him is ever great not until we find him.GOD is the creator and so we must give HIM the due that he deserves.

As long as you refuse to question religion, or God, you will never become a genious. Believing what others tell you to believe is not that way to becoming a genious.

Thatll be the first step towards your getting smarter, as hard as it may be. The reason being is that if one doesnt follow an organized religion, they are then able to become more of a free-thinker. Being a free-thinker, one winds up being able to use their *own* mind and not someone elses.

If one doesnt think for themself or comes to conclusions on various things by themself, that person just winds up just being a brainwashed sheep following someone else. If one doesnt think for themself and rather does and believes everything someone else tells them, that person will never be able to become a genius because they will be only as smart as the person theyre following allows them to be. unknown source.

Thanks a lot Mikki.

It was written several years ago and I need to review it and revise.

I fully agree with you on the part of refusing to question religions. The quote you gave is excellent!

Jim, that is a good article, does have typos, but with revision it would be better. Not too long ago, I started on a mission you can say, of becoming a smarter individual or if you want to call it a genius. Ive read many articles on becoming a genius and Ive seen quite many that are good and some that are cheap. Your article is good, and I think the guidlines that you mentioned on the last part will be helpful for me in the long and short run.It be real great if you did revise it up with no typos and probably added some more interesting content. But good job nonetheless =) -O.C.

I like the theory behind becoming a genius. You can some it all up by comparing your brain to training a dog. You must establish dominance with the dog, a planned schedule for housebreaking, feeding, and training exersises. The more consistant you are with your training of the dog the better outcome. The same holds true for your brain. You must establish dominance/control or your brain will go into autopilot and you will just be along for the ride. Take control now, its not that you cant teach an old dog new tricks. It just takes much more time, patience, dedication, and consistancy to accomplish the goal you would have had an easier time starting sooner than later.

Dear Jim,

Your article is quite inspiring and motivational. In particular I liked the part on how our brain works with datum and data. In fact, I had been looking for some convincing material which could help to tame my brain and I am happy for having found your article. The references in your articles are very useful and could be expanded. I mean the authors who have already addressed the subject. Keep up with the good work.

Best Regards, John

Of course, several interesting facts included in the article. Some scientology nonsense perhaps, but mostly factual material succinctly laid out; well done! Oh yes, Einstein, Newton, and many other REAL geniouses believed in God, and those who believe in any form of organised superstition have the same chance of becoming a genious (if they arent already) as anyone else. Believing or not believing in God isnt a factor that determines geniousness or even intelligence in general.

I want to quote something by a very famous American Industrialist. What ever the mind of man can concieve and believe it can achieve Andrew Carnegie

With great energy great results are capable. Only with great focus. Great focus is acquired through a definite Chief Aim or life work in which you are struggleing for. I have read the famous book Think and Grow Rich written by Napolean Hill. And maybe you have aswell. I highly recommend this book to all of you. If youve read it, I recommend you read it again and start doing what is outlined in it.

great article. i have personally gone through a lot in life, more than a teenager or adult now should ever go through and its taken a toll on me. this summer, now that im off to college soon, i have come to realize im not sure what i want out of life and that i really need to adjust myself to the type of person i want to become. i have never been much of a dramatic person because i never found the need to make something up or feed destructable data to anyone to make things more exciting in life. as for entertainment, i hate what tv has done to our culture these days it seems the reality shows and celebrities have really fried peoples brains. i find it all ridiculous to waste your time on something that can be so useless in life. and i find it more ridiculous our world is more drawn to our celebrities than to whats really going on in our world today (war). even if its all just a big schpeal over oil or who knows what. i think there are definately more things in life that our people need to spend their time improving on to make this world a better place. but anyways to my direct point, i really enjoyed reading your article and particularily your list on how to become a genius. its nice to have something to follow to really keep your mind up to par especially when im in a sense of mind of starting over and really trying to focus on whats important in my life. so thank you for the encouragement. sincerely, nicole

Being athiest, I think for myself. Personally I believe everyone is a genius in their own right, what people know makes a person an individual, it also makes a person think the way they think. When people hear the word Genius They usually think Einstein, or Newton, You should now start thinking yourself.

If you want to get smarter which is the reason you found this site (Im guessing) My advice is read a book you find totally boring, a maths book or a science book or whatever the weather, if your not that good at your chosen subject book then get a basics one. Once you finish the book then get another, try set yourself a task, one book every 3 weeks, just make sure you do your best to understand it!

There is an interesting quote above that reads, As long as you refuse to question religion, or God, you will never become a genius. Believing what others tell you to believe is not that way to becoming a genius. However, what if you genuinely question God, but in that honest questioning, your free-thinking leads you back to the conclusion that God does indeed exist as both the ultimate Creator and Redeemer? IF that notion one day proves itself to be true, then how do you then define the so-called genius of today that has rejected the notion of God in his free-thinking?

22.
Jim Westergren
said on September 12, 2006 at 14:17

B. Buie,

Very interesting comment. My point of view on the matter is that I dont really agree with the commenter on that. You can believe in a God and still be/become a genuis, as long as you think for yourself and evaluate information for yourself. Ones belief in God and religion is a personal matter and is not always forced upon a person. A person could figure out things about that for himself on a rational level.

There is no uncertainty about the intelligence of the Human race, because the Holy Bible clearly stated that we are created in the image and likeness of God and further down in book of Psalm 82, it is written that they know not neither do the understand, they(we) walk about in darkness and perish like mere man.

Just imagine for a moment, being created in the image of the designer of this world, our human frame, the reptiles, the beautiful, colorful flowers and waterfalls, my list could go on for ever, but honestly having the mind of Jesus Christ, makes you a genius. The Holy BIBLE further stated that the fear of God is the beginning of vital data.

Ruling our emotions or rather in control of situations and circumstances that present themselves in our in iour lives is wisdom, this is not possible humanely speaking, we need a divine enablement and guidance to be in control of our life. That was why Jesus died for mankind. The Holy Bible again stated that only the FOOL has said in his heart that there is no God. Have you ever thought for a moment, about the eternal destiny of those great philosophers or scientologists that have passed on ahead of us, answer to this question is vital data and worth hearing.

Finally, I think this information is a destructive data, because it gives no credit to the source of wisdom, which is CHRIST JESUS. Jesus stated that come onto me all that are labored and heavy laden I will give you rest, it is an open invitation to ALL, just say Lord Jesus come into my heart today and give me the wisdom need to go through this world. You got it!!!

No offense, Edi SL.

Someone mentioned the image and likeness of god. I agree we are made in that image. However god is not a him or her.. god doesnt have a physical body. God is not even the very word GOD. The intelligence that GOD is , IS. If we are in that image then if we were to shed our physical body we would see and experience the IS which we are made in the image and likeness of that higher intelligence that we call GOD.

hehe was that confusing? lol

Jim Westergren
said on September 17, 2006 at 19:18

Ben,

I find it very interesting. We are not our physical body, but we control it. We might think we are our physical body but that is a misconception. I believe that what we ARE and what God IS is an intelligence that are very similar. Of course God could be said to have a complete intelligence and we perhaps just have a small fraction of it.

Thats my view on it.

And good luck Knowledge!

Listen, my source of the phrase image and likeness of God is the Holy Bible and those of us that worship him in Spirit and in Truth refer to God as our FATHER and not our mother, thus He. I will advise you to study the role and responsibilities of a male in a marriage and subsequently as a father, and then you will be in a position to understand, appreciate calling God your FATHER. Again I invite to the fullness of LIFE, accept Jesus in your life today and you will have the peace that passes all understanding. LORD JESUS I THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME AND COME INTO MY LIFE TODAY amen!!!

Genius is a product of nature. Its very had to encode the genes for Intelligence. It can be proved in many ways. For an instance Nobel laureautes were attracted to science at an embroyonic stage very naturally not being asked. So all they need is the environment which can trigger their intelligence. The reverse is not true. Developing skills can definitely make a decent remarks in their careers like programming or manager. But definitely not scaling to heights. Genome research has proved that intelligence is innate and cannot be changed. Lets not try something which is beyond our capability. We can do or think things emotionally like how can you say that its not possibleblahblah but rationality is the prime thing which we need to bring and look into this matter cautiously. Science is a fact and its not a belief system. We need to accept this fact. If you need the fact please visit http://www.genome.org/ Scientiest have isolated the genes for intelligence and may be in the near future can decode the information and reveal the stunning truth. Lets not carry false hope to burden our mind. Many people would narrate incidents how a person become genius at the later stage of the life. Some genes remain dormant and express itself as time comes. GENIUS are born but not made.

A genius is created not through choice, but through necessity. There are two types of people in the world, the people who become one with their environment [they come to terms their own terms with life and make a choice to simply 'go along''] and there are people who work to control the environment.

Those who rebel against their surroundings, whether socially or physically, and eventually are able to manipulate another mans thinking process are true geniuses.

Another thing is this:

Your mind is like a running stream that leads to a waterfall, which then drops into a basin. The basin, we can say is your unbridled reasoning; the place where your ideas flow and ripple outward. Its your inner selfthe real introspective you.

All of the information you aquired is processed here; it undulates; sinks into the water, and resurfaces. In other words, you retain it evoke it from time to time, and then build on the thought.

Yes, my friends, the Basin is equal to your common sense.

From above, the waterfall symbolizes foriegn or new information. Let us not confuse the downpour of information with intelligence. Remember, no matter how much you knowif you havent strengthened your Basin, the information you feed on does not make you more intelligent.

In order to become a genius, you must first build a dam on the waterfall,[stop the flow of information] and contemplate the Basin [your mind].

You must reorder it; strengthen the foundation; in other words, align your views with what you believe to be true.

There are many ways to do this, but this way, I thinkis much safer:

You must find, recognize, and know yourself before becoming a genius. When you do this, you should become passionate.

When that passion rises, open the dam and let the waterfall down. Then, and only then, will you reach higher understanding.

As to mr. dionexs comment i agree very much. Because in my opinion it is imparitive to learning and gaining intelegence to first pass information through your better judgement to better absorb it. As soon as we loose our common sence we lose all rationality and learning is futile. And also passion is very important in accomplishing your goals in any instance. P.S. be easy im only 16

This wirting has really made me to take a decision of changing my life and believing in myself. The statement I dont understand and strongly disagree with is the one about the spiritual entity of man being a God, thats completelty untrue, of cause if u want to be a true genius u need to have reverence for the Lord like king Solomon

Reading through all of the many comments was very interesting. I was facinated by all the many view-points on what is a genius, and how one is created. The god concept seemed to bother a lot of readers. And the ideas about vital data where not given enough thought I think by many of the readers. They seemed to become fixated on this god concept. I have experienced the god realityor the godhead. (I like to call it the furnace because I emanate enormous amounts of energy when at that state of beingness, and it makes my heart feel like a burning furnace.) I do agree that the god reality does impart much understanding about the way of thingsand this is due on large part because it causes you to concentrate the mind to a great degree, and this in-turn brings about great clarity of thought, and an exalted mood of love for oneself and other beings. And if we could all feel this way, all the time, then we would have a heaven on earth. But, the people who have been commenting are most likely not at this state chronically. Most have faith, and some may have experienced this state. While most have not. For believing in the experience of this state does not solve all the problems of this world. The god reality is an exalted state of beingness, but it is not the highest state of beingness in which a being can be at. At this state: being and non-being, god and no-god are realized as the two sides of the same coin. You cannot have one without the other. And this state brings about eternal

peace and unlimited freedom for that particular beingan extremely personal state that can never be proven except by personal experience. At this state you are infinite and unending. The mind, the body, and your identity are gone. The god that so many of the people have been commenting on is definitely not realized by them. For if they did they would not have been so offended by the non existence of god. The desire to be right, and the desire to prove the other wrong is a common thread throughout these comments. The word god and genius are just wordsjust like the word furnace that I used for the god reality. Many of those who are commenting on god do not realize that all the major religions all speak of these higher states of beingness. They are very much in agreementit is you who are not. Your religions have convinced you that the spiritual methods that your religion has taught you are the only methods, and that all other religions are false. Prayer, meditation, yoga,etc. are practiced by many religions. The question you should all be asking is not whether my religion is right or wrong, but do these methods decrease my suffering, and if they do are there better and faster methods of decreasing my suffering and other beings. The better and faster methods are what should be sought out, not the weaker methods. Put your ego aside and go find these methods. Because it is elevating ourselves to these exalted states of beingness that are going to help decrease the suffering of beings on this planet. Moralities will be better put to use when you are at these higher statesnot when you are at lower states(It is more difficult to be moral when your chronic state of beingness is anger.) These higher states will naturally increase I.Q, concentration, clarity of thought, moral level, virtuousness, mood,..etc. A genius is a label that humans give a person. I highly doubt the person sees themselves as a geniusjust a person who has figured something out that maybe others havent, or created something that others havent ever created, or what ever. It is merely a descriptive label that is used quite loosely most of the time by people who want to describe someone that is usually great at something, whether it be artstic, scientific, spiritual, etc. They could all be labelled genius. But that label isnt for them, it is for us. So that we may better identify greatnessin our eyeswhen we see it, read it, hear it,..etc. And in response to vital data: we all seek this outwhether we realize it or not. And the being that uses vital data will soon understand much more then they did beforebut that will not make them a genius. We do have physical limitations that determine are potential I.Q, but sadly most humans never attain that potential. A person may have a high potential I.Q., but never even come close to attaining it because of poor concentration, insecurity, anxiety, depression, false data, lack of meaning,..etc. But keep in mind, genius is not a matter of I.Q. It comes about through great persistance, hard work, trial and error, going down wrong paths and backtracking, keeping your imagination alive, testing your limits, questioning theories,etc. A person could have a great I.Q. and never generate anything greatthey are few and far between. And the majority of them have suffered greatly to generate something greatbut all their suffering was done for one reason: to decrease their own personal suffering. And some later worked towards the decrease of others. I wouldnt be proud to be labelled a geniusin fact, I despise the word and rarely use it.

I must say Im very interested in this article, and it sure has expanded my knowledge of this world, I know a couple of people who are extremely smart but dont know how they do it. The problem I have with religion is that there are far too many, and each contradicts the other, e.g. there is only one god, but then there are many that are worshiped. Personally I do not believe in many views of religion and have therefore decided to place my belief in nature, mankind, and entities beyond our communication. Also something I have come across in religious studies is that it is always best to believe in something. I will now put this in an example:

There are two possible outcomes for two possible situations.

First situation You die not believing in God

Outcome one He doesnt exist, well done you were right, but whom are you going to tell? No God = not heaven etc.

Outcome two He does exist, you were wrong and so go to hell

Second situation You die believing in God

Outcome one He doesnt exist, unlucky you just wasted half of your life time with false beliefs, but hey look at the good side, you met loads of people who you had something in common and who probably helped you through your life, especially this placebo that can give you moral support

Outcome two He does exist, welcome to paradise

As you can see the outcomes are 50/50 but the outcomes that occur when you believe in God are far better than if you didnt.

Im only 16 but Im pretty damn sure my account will be helpful to at least some of you and make you think about our situations in life

I believe that thier is a God and God is the holder of all wisdom and gives this knowledge to whoever is willing. Now to confirm his existence is not to look with our bare eyes but spiritually into this world. By spiritually I mean our consciousness in our selves and the world and then and only then his presence shall be revealed to us.

Science cant obviously prove this of course because it only observes the physical, but our souls can because they are spiritual which in it self is beyond the knowledge we have through science because it is the alternative to science which can only be understood by the soul not the logical mind. For one to be truly a Genius is to understand both the physical and the spiritual entirely.

For me the only problem im having with this is mastering and sticking to a plan(organization/laziness) that is the problem.

KRISHNA said on September 18, 2006 at 6:37 am Genius is a product of nature.

I just want to say I believe your opinion is wrong, and that Science is not a fact.. but is theory based on carefull observation and statistics..

And I honestly dont believe you or anyone else could use science to prove anything to be a 100% fact. Simply because I believe humans dont have all knowledge. Example: Using science you could say my paper is white, but you only see it as white. And whos to say that we see colors and not feel them or taste them. Distinguish taste and touch, whos to say theyre not one in the same.

I believe when thinking in this huge potential complexity of confusion. Everyones ideas are jointed somehow.. linking everyones thoughts in a pool of somekind. Possibly meaning all humans are connected somehow through someone or something who understand it all. Which is who i belive to be God.

As for the ideas on the beliefs of God. No, i havent the read a real bible, only a childerens bible when i was little. Yes I believe in God, and I question all stories from the bible said to be true, because anyone could have changed it over time. But, i dont kick it to the curve.

the vital data about the existance of god really caused people to get upset. to clear up the arguments about the existance of God, it makes sense that he exists if you think about everything in this universe. How is it possible for the Big Bang to have occured from a small thing in the middle of nothing at all just by chance, with all the complex biological lifeforms and physics so perfectly formed without the help of a supremely powerful force? How can deciduous forests shed leaves in the fall and regrow them in the spring simply because they happened to fall into the 0.0000000000000001% chance of being that way? How come every part of the human body has a purpose, as well as every part in nature? This is all proof that God truly exists, who created us as well as everything around us. Questioning his existance would be very foolish, because we are just humans that live in a small home in a small country in a small planet in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe in a who knows what, and God is greater than that and knows more than us, so to be a genius, you have to first use this reasoning to understand that God is better than us all, and then you can try to become a genius while knowing that your intelligence benefits humankind, with no thoughts about man being God. The three monotheistic religions: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all share this belief, and there were plenty of geniuses from these religions who made a big impact on the world.

My final statement is that philosophy can be a dangerous power to the human mind that can lead it to believe that humans are the only things that can understand how the universe works, but can also be a useful tool if one understands the true powers of the universe, as it doesnt limit thinking, but aides it in these matters.

If someone says this theory is broken ; I meant = a varacious wrong, I might say so. Because GENIUS is a nature but can be learnt if we live with the word IMPOSSIBLE, you can be so cynic to accept Jims theory. But the theory is not important ! At least, Jim had done a great thinking. His mind is incrediblely terrific.

Why people are so sure that nobody can be a GENIUS? 1. Because they easily dont understand the real meaning of GENIUS.

Take point, buddies. Read online dictionaries. They will tell you zillion meanings of GENIUS. We can be a GENIUS. Whatever type of GENIUS is, or we cant be a GENIUS like Einstein and Darwin, we indeed can try. If we realize we cannot, just think like a genius. This makes you awesome. It may sound like a GENIUS and you will have big thinking. DO THINK BIG.

This is only a part of the nature of a genius, but a genius is more than the fact that you know its a combination of logic art data and focus.

so: Logic: do logic puzzles. Art: learn art. data: learn stuff for your reqired feild. focus: do a martial art or yoga.

always remember your capable of morethan you think, and evry thing you know is probably wrong, always question yourself and others. and realise that being a genius is close to insanity you dont have much in common with other people usless data is mind clutter. you earn what you learn. madness.

This is a very inspiring and educative article, nice work Jim. I admire the techniques you used when informing us, the readers, on how to positively manipulate our minds; however, I have a number of questions that I would like to express: 1) To be a genius, does one have to completely release themselves from the tight grapple of 21st century entertainement ( T.V, Radio, Gaming Consoles, playing cards e.t.c)? 2) Does one have to completely focus on acquiring vital and valuable data on their career interests,in order to acheive full intelligence? (e.g. If i chose to be a lawyer, must I focus entirely on gaining as much information as I can in the field of Law?) 3) Were can a person acquire the necessary aids needed to become a genius at their speciality? (books, e.t.c)

By the way, I am a 16 year old boy looking to improve his brain power to a standard wish can be comparible to that of a genius. Please Email me if you wish to give me some usefull tips. Thank you.

real nice Mikki, but i have a comment on what you said, i religion called Islam came hundreds years ago and its messenger called Mohammad, they asked him to give him a prove that hes right, and he said that the moon will be split in 2 halfs tomorrow, and when the other day came it splitted, and now after years scientists found that moon was splitted to be 2 halfs,

and they have something called Quran they say that this book is from god, and he send it to Mohammand, when you read it youll find many science facts discovered hundreds years ago!, like when you get out of ozone youll not be able to see anything, it would be tottaly dark, or the more you move faster the more time will be slower

do you think that this religion is able to be questioned? i dont think so

go and collect science facts, go read their Quran, and youll find them written in it, written and discovered hundreds years ago.. strange right?

Yeah, I agree with Obie about the statement of scientific facts in Quran. There are numerous other examples there to be read. For example, it is written in Quran that in future Metal will speak. That sounds quite wierd but today we come to know that that in almost all the sound producing devices, be it speakers, phones, televisions etc, magnet is used. So, thats it! It has predicted the future in many other places. Worth a read.

I will infact state that being a genius is to have a mind whirling with fruitful ideas and a constant manifesting of new initiatives. The huge archive of music wont get out of my head. It plays over and over. It tells me of a way to reach the other side, while all are astonished by the problematic circumstances. While they lift, I lever, and while they walk, I roll. That is the definition of being a genius. You can always teach someone which conlusions to come to, but you cannot teach them how to analyze to come to these conlusions.

A very beautiful essay. keep up the excellent work

i wonder if you have any link to any other works that you have done.

After i read the essay and then checking out the comments I found out that are are many people dislike or disagree about being a god yourself. i feel so sick of people keep posting comment about it so i skipped all the comment and make 1 that i hope clear up people mind.

on #10 There is no God but the spiritual entity of man could be considered to be a God when reached its potential capabilities.

I understand what Jim Westergren mean on that; because a person whoever able to say that he/she has to keep a neutral state of mind when learning many different religions. He is not shallow person with little knowledge. it take a lot of courage, wisdom, and the brain editor to make a final decision to say it. Everyone has a spritual mind and belief but not necessarily blindly believe in god. it is obvious that whoever disagree on the statement already limited on what you can think.

So for people who blocked their mind on learning the positive things about different or unknown relegions please go learn with an open mind after make a conclusion, then you can agree or disagree on what he said. dont just post a comment that is not based on your criteria. it just make you sound like a fool.

~~~stop reading if you already dont like what i said~~~ now, lets get down to the point. #1 anyone ever see god? answer this with your eyes (your eyes ever see god?)
#2 God is the creator of all things and he gave you life? if you able to read this far, please go kiss your mom and dad for that they didnt do the abortion and raised you to this day financially, physically, and mentally. GOD didnt raised you nor give birth to you. but then again you will disagree because talking about human, he is the one made your parents and me. tell me! you will base on what to tell others that god gave you life when your mom and dad are the people who did all the work to get you to be whoever you are today? shame on you!
#3 how do you know that god is good or bad? god is a higher supernatural being. a being with free wills able to do good or bad things. you wish he/she as god do good things because the back of your head has all the confusion and unimaginable fear if god is evil. he/she never done anything evil nor good so you rather think he/she as god is good.
#4 imagine just imagine, yourself failed off the deep valley. Your hands and legs are paralized. what keep you alive is your mouth biting on a tree branch. there is a guy who see what is going on and he tell you to open your mouth and say god, please save me, then you will be saved. tell me. what would you do?
#5 Subject is unable to be proven or disproven. when you search and read the Theory on How to Become a Genius essay you already looking into the world of science. please, please dont read stuff like this when you can just ask your god to make you a genius if you pray hard enough. i hope you understand what i mean when i say this.
#6 myself has a religous. i do believe there is a higher power. but i also believe that my parents are my creator and science is the key to the future; the foundation in this meterial world.
#7 please stop posting comments about #10 from vital data i rather see other comments and reponse from what others has to say which would help me pratices these techniques.
To: Obie lmao, Obie! well, i have no intention of fighting over that Obie. Since you have a shallow of knowledge and you seeing as well as speaking only on your personal view which based on too little criteria.
lets skip all the ice age, stone age and jump to the metal age. let me tell you some facts are: 1000 b.c.e. is the beginning of metal age for most places however china already in bronze age at 2000 b.c.e. (which mean already 1000 years a head). without telling especific information for the use of metal you already have a general idea of what metals are for.
Every single tribe has its own religion. the reason i use the word tribe to show that in a group of people already have different beliefs which created so many religions. Religion gain its power by conquering land and spread its teaching. so lets not have a war on internet since i love every religion because no matter what; its teaching telling people to do good things i strongly dislike human sacrafice to please god though. the word god here is not only used by christian or muslim but use by many religions. History already started at 8000 b.c.e. until 570 a.c.e is when Muhammad was borned in Mecca. that is how long?
Obie is that how you look at people who created history? you think they are just like you? i read your post over and over for like 20 minutes and still cant take my eyes off what you wrote. how can an educated person talk like that? I know it is a waste of my time writing all this to you since you couldnt interpret the meaning anyway. do you know what is logical fallacy? what is tentative facts? what is common knowledge? what is standard level of knowledge to read a certain book? if you cant tell what is right and wrong from reading a book (or what people say) then you cant generate authors idea into your own. I think your mind is in a deep well, and only see a small rounded sky.ah well, i give up. based on what you criticised about me and how you looked at ancient people show that you are not worth for me to share ideas with.
To: Jim Westergren thank you again for the awsome information in your essay. I love the essay so much; is also why i keep posting comment to support your idea. today i stop posting comment since comments can be posted by kids, immature, little knowledge, to highly intelligent people. I envy people who posted intelligent ideas in comment but for some low people to post their idea without thinking just get me frustated.
am sorry about what i said but.. since the first ages, when Judaism, Christian and Islam were found, no one could disprove their validity (that theyre the only religions from god), trust me every one of these 3 religions is corroborated by facts which no one knew in that time, and i just wonder how can a highly intelligent person disprove it, building his essay on nothing but his personal view, was you depending on something when you was writing this?,
trust me you cant ignore the existence of god, hes the one who created you, who gives you the mental power and the ability to think, create and discover, and the one who gives you the ability to have this argument with me, unless you have another idea about the existence of human being, universe cant be caused by accident and if yes then the following story must be true..
an atheist said that this universe caused by accident and he wanted someone to disprove his theory, he sat a date with a religious man to make a conversation about this matter, and when the date came the religious man didnt come so they sat another date, when this date came the religious man arrived late, so the atheist man asked him about the reason of his lating, the religious man replied in the first date i couldnt come because a river in the middle of the desert blocked my way so i returned home, and today the same thing happend but with a bigger river, while i was thinking about how to cross this river something weird happend which is a big tree fall down and created a boat full of girls and liquors and all this happend by accident .. the atheist man replied thats nonsense how could a tree fall down and create a boat full of girls accidently? the religious man replied you dont believe that a tree could fall to create that boat accidently then how could you believe that the whole world is caused by accident?.
maybe i was wrong about metal, but what about the other facts?.
its enough today kid, oh by the way its not you to judge if someone have shallow of knowledge or not, also its not you to judge if someone is talking about on his personal view which based on too little criteria or not.
good luck and hope waste another 20 mins reading it, maybe youll understand it
Peppermint, someone?
In this article you say things I, too, suspect -or hope for, really-. Its absolutely hilarious to see how many people try to comment with an intelligent fruit of their minds it seems they are all living up to rule number 1 of becoming a genius: believe it yourself. Funny. Or: good job Jim.
So, here comes something written as a kind of reaction -or should I say an unclear clarification?- by me, a genius in every vein of my body (see rule number 11):
Being a genius itself can have many ways of showing it. The definition you gave, Someone who has an unusually high level of intelligence, mental skill or artistic ability., says it all. Intelligence is just a part of being a genius, and I believe it is not necessarily to be the greatest part: so far with the intelligent comments here.
People can have their own genius-moments. The discovery of new knowledge, the invention of something basically useful or even the ability to develop a hole new method/system for something. Those three respectively are the most precious outings of something different in the three categories given by your dictionary.
Everyone has a chance to get such insight. It doesnt necessarily has anything to do with knowledge, but with insight in how everything works. The key words discovery, invention and new I used above, all are an important part of understanding what makes something genius. Its something you said somewhere in this article too, I think. Being a genius is much more then just learning what other people say and forming a good base of vital and valuable data. However, with all that, you can have a good start in coming up with something new, something fresh. Thats being genius. Or even shine a light on a new aspect is genius.
In my believe, being a genius has all to do with being fresh.
Peppermint, someone?
Marc youre perfect .. Jim, basing on what you said the person can become a genius in 1 or alittle more fields, every useless data can become a very vital ones, and every vital data can become a very useless ones, since you considered that information as a useless ones
you didnt analyze it which make you seem an average person .. i think the secret of being genius is the ability to analyze every information so as mac said you find out how things work, while analyzing every new information youll be more able to criticize these information so it help you developing that information and so help you finding some new possibe ways to use those information in and also make it easier for you to save it in your memory so you can use it later in a creative way..
so far, everytime i think about the reason of being genius i find that analyzing and finding new possibilities are the main reason of being genius, and the rest of mental powers are just a helping-hand which we must develop too.
I always felt that genius is not what you knew but how you looked at it. What I found common among all of the famous geniuses is that they had a new way of looking at things instead of just knowing a lot about things.
There is the theory of universal gravitation (IE: What you think about most is drawn to you) which would suggest that it is, in fact, possible to become a genius simply by wanting to become a genius then following the paths that would accomplish this (vital and valuable data).
This article was very well done, but I do see some things in it that just feel like empty filler (parts about GOD). I believe in a higher power, however I do not wholly believe in religion (I do roughly follow the Latter Day Saints) the main reason being is that religion was made for the sheep so that they could accept the enlightened thoughts of someone else, religion feels like its only purpose is to keep (excuse my brute statement) the dumb people together and happy.
This is in response to a statement left by a Mr. Ethos. You said you didnt aggree with the empty filler of a latter participant in this forum, which was about God mostly I suppose.
Well you see Mr. Ethos you get, what you except to be or know to be. For example if your whole life you were never enlightened to organize and file the datum of lets say a type of bird, you would never take notice of it. Lets just say that pop culture just hasnt been enlightened to that datum because of some past decision made by the heads of those who can control our education. And so since you would be busy learning other things you would never think of that bird that sometimes flys by. You would never be able to share that datum as some source of reality with another and thus create affinity so that you could get the all human need of acceptance.
In regards to religion coming from man, that is highly debatable. You see your saying that religion is some opinion of some here for say. But those in the know, know that the bible, the Quran, and even the Torah; the three world religions that have books that originate from historical times that were presented and then testified to past and even future occurances. And some even brought to light those things that were misunderstood. OK NOW FOR EXAMPLE:Noahs Ark, crack on the moons surface (in relation to the supposed miracle that the Prophet muhammed pointed at the moon and it split in to pieces one going west and the other going east), so many hard evident things can be shown to prove a miraculous enlightenment from a non human source. I personally am more familliar with the Islamic perspective. That is that the Quran it self can prove that no man wrote it since the information in it was revealed in a time where that kind of thinking didnt even exsist. All scientific type stuff.
I hope you can give your self a chance to look into the other side of your argument so that you can really prove that you are right, or other wise except humbly that you are wrong.
Dianetics and Scientology can save the planet ? ? ? I wish I could be around long enough to collect on that bet. Whats gonna happen soon is that millions of born again Christians are going to vanish off the face of the Earth. The mis-beguiled herd as the trilateral committee calls you people, will buy into the UFO propaganda and believe that WE born again Christians were taken by a hostile ET and you will all panic around the world and instantly the Anti-christ (the new world order leader) will bring order from chaos as the masons slogan goes, and youll all give up your independence rights for the false sense of security of joining the flock for protection in numbers. Youll enjoy 3 1/2 years of peace and plenty. After that, the following 3 1/2 years, youll all be begging the mountains to fall on top of you to protect you from the wrath of God for you disobedience. Thats if you even live through any of it. After you eventually die, youll spend approximately 1000 years in Hell, hot and thirsty as Hell, and waiting to be judged by God, and then cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. Your genius doesnt touch my wisdom. Time will prove me right! ambassador QNA2Z.com p.s., your planet will be destroyed by God. But its not too late . . . Jesus loves you and wants to forgive you and spare you from eternal punishment. He already suffered for your disobedience. All you have to do is stop living the way that YOU think is right. The bible is Gods instruction manual for mankind. If all else fails, try following directions.
When u r a child the thought of god is put in u..and u die without seeing him thinking that he will come to lift you.Whenevr we r in trouble we look up and call god y mebut just think do u call him wen u feel joy/love/emotions etc To be god is not easy coz u will then have to know: How to love others How to smile How to be greatful How to contribute And the list goes on and on. The one who does all this is the god and the one who know how to do this is the GENIUS.. Ask the geniuses and they will tell you. BE THE MASTER OF YOUR DESTINY RATHER THAN DESTINY MASTER YOU
The world was here is here and will be here.Nature has given us everything.All the ideas are floating in the air just grab it as the geniuses has done.You may die but ur thoughts live.. I AM JINU AND ALL I WANT TO BE IN MY LIFE IS JINU So cya guys lets c what u got in u. TAKE CARE
your theory is kinda interesting but i totally disagree with the point that theres no God.. i mean seriously, if youre trying to be a genius, you would ask yourself and keep wondering: who made this world? or why am i here? or what is the purpose of me being on earth? most scientist claim that things were formed and evolution happened etc. but all what they said are theories and non of their conclusions are certain. You may ask yourself, at some point in your life : Who created the universe and all the amazing creatures on earth? when you do ask yourself.. maybe your datum will change. And by the way all the scientist (who were geniuses) believed in God and never considered themselves to be. (if u think im crazy, just read einsteins biography and his quotes) I hope that u take my point into consideration because if you do, you might be a genius.
If we can seek the truth the god then with 100% accuracy we too can contribute to the world as Einstein ,Jesus Christ,Thomas Edison,Bill gates,Henry Ford,etc etc etcand the list goes on Final Note: BE THE SEEKER OF THE TRUTH AND U SEEK GOD... Ehmm There are few things I would like to point out!!!
1. There is a GOD and his name is JESUS!!! He created the universe and all humankind in his likeness in a sense that humans are living soulsThey have a physical body and a spirit..When humans die their bodies goes back to the ground and the spirit, which been breathd unto us, goes back to GOD.. Our soul either goes to HEAVEN or to HELL.. Which place do you belong? The BIBLE has answers for thisExcept a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD. 2. GOD has given us various talentsWe all have our own field of expertise.. 3. A man can only grow as much as his horizon allows. You can be what you want to be..YOu just have to focus on that certain goal and never take your eyes of it! You can be a doctor, an engineer, a scientist, provided you pay the price!!! That is work and devotion/commitment. 4. Thank you GOD for giving me such a dynamic Brain which knows no bounds. 5. To bring back the time is the only thing that I find humans will never be able to achieveWe can go to space but not bring the time back..No Time Machines will ever be createdAmen!
God is irrelevant in becoming a genius. God may have created this world and most likely the entire universe for all we know, but we are the ones that control our actions and thoughts. God merely evaluates us as we act. In my opinion, there is a genius in all of us; it just hasnt been found yet in some people.
The essay is somewhat written in an valuable way for me. Yes indeed, our brain functions along our purpose which in turn determine what we ought or ought not do. However, learning to become a genius solely through knowing what is affirmation, critical thinking and other related technique is way to oversimplistic. I dont know what is genius according to you, but scientifically speaking, genius tend to possess sharper mental skills (thinking faster, visualizing better). What you mentioned were just parts of the attitudes needed to get there.
No matter what, Im still glad to have read an essay as such, and i encourage people to write essays related to genius and think it might be valuable for everyone.
It is not unbelievable for a person to become a genius. It takes time and perseverance fro a person to reach a Genius Status.
With the proper system of learning, good parenting and knowledge a person can become a great genius.
God made us more than what we think we are. With God nothin is impossible. But be reminded that as our Creator and Savior we should, special mention to the genius ones, that He is above us all.
A little saying Ive created and guided me thru out my daily activities in school and believe me it had hlp me a lot.
Hi Jim, Youve mentioned the following in one para:
The first thing to learn is that a person CAN become more intelligent, and I am sure even possible to become a genius, all by himself. And it is definitely not necessary to meditate 10 years on the top of a mountain in china to achieve it.
Well, long back I gave a small presentation on Emotional Intelligence. For which, I went thru several websites on web. And to my surprize, I came to know that: A persons intelligence is constant. It is fixed since his/her birth. It can not be increased or decreased. (Maybe some genes has something
to do with intelligence. I recently watched a program on National Geography, where a molecular biologist, in an experiment, examines genes from some thousand twins to know which genes are responsible for high intelligence. Not sure about the outcome though.) The results that the person achieves in his/her life, are directly proportional to the application of his/her intelligence throughout his life. So assuming this as truth, what youve presented here is ways how to apply your intelligence more. But guess, you can not take the level of your intelligence up.
(Maybe you would see the above as destructive data and I would see as vital one..
I guess youve just used the word intelligence loosely here. I am not questioning your theory here, your ideas are quite practicable. however, would like to know what you think/argue over the above point.
Best regardsAshish.
In response to Ashish, I will tell you a personal story. When I was growing up I was a poor student. My grade point avg. was roughly 1.5. I had to retake some classes while in high school because I wasnt pulling the grade. In the end I just barley passed high school, and received a diploma. One could argue that I just wasnt applying myselfand they would be right to a degree. But, when I did apply myself, I had to work very hard to get a good grademe easiest classes were art and phy. ed. When school was done I joined the military. And one day while on a flight I found a magazine article advertising the 100 greatest books ever written. This caught my curiosityso I tore it out, and brought it with me to my home. I tore it out because I had always felt dumband an I.Q test that I took that same year pointed to the fact that my I.Q. was 96(just below the norm)and I wanted to be smart. So, about a year later I started reading the books on that list. One after another I worked my way through them. I read classic novels, philosophy, psychology, science,etc. And, I soon noticed that reading made me curious about other subjects, so I would read them as well. Subjects that horrified me, and were difficult for me, soon became easier. During this time I also wrote in notebooks so that I could clarify what I thought, and read.(This period of reading lasted 4 to 5 years, and I had ready well over 500 books on everything from epistemology, game theory, chaos theory, comparative religion, ethics, mathematics, feminism, corporate globalization, and so on. Also after a few years of reading, I finally took another I.Q. test, and this time I scored a 123it was a Mensa test. I was amazed, a 27 point increase. I realized then that intelligence could be increased, and that the authorities were wrong! I was living proof. I still continue to read, but now I spend most of my time thinking. Thinking about philosophy, science, education, mathematics,etc. I am able to problem solve quickly and with clarity. I see the big picture and can also fill in the details. I learn very fast, and I am like a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. My last I.Q. testOxford Capacitywas 145. In a ten year time period I was able to get my I.Q. to increase 49 pointsand I can feel it and see it within myself. Ashish, and others who agree with this person, must realize that there are people who would like to hold you back from achieving your full potential. And those who would must be questioned with full forceeven the authorities. Remember, the authorities once told the world that it was flat, and then it was the center of the universe, and now we are the only planet that has life in the universewhat next do the authorities want us to believe? We use under 10% of our minds, 90% is used on nothing. To understand what nothing is you have to believe nothing, is not nothing, but instead something undiscovered by yourself, to discover it, you must find it, so start looking. I have unlocked 24% of my mind (oh and to query your first assumption, who ever said our mind is our brain?)
well, humans have been living on earth for million of years, and what they have discovered need no more than 100000 years to discover, this must be enough to prove that humans intelligence is constant, all humans have the same amount of intelligence but what changes is the way of thinking, every century have different demands and those demands directs our brains to think in a way which satisfies those demands and so it directs our focusing process, so the only different between person scored average and person scored high on I.Q test is the way of thinking he uses, high scoring people analyze every word in the question, average people shut out many information given in the question, nowdays we shut out alot of the incomming stimulis which leads us to lose our logical way of thinking and thats why most of kids score high in I.Q test and in creativity tests, they dont shut nothing as every stimuli for them matters
First of all, humans have not existed for millions of years; we are a relatively new species. Secondly, I do not believe that IQ tests are very accurate as far as determining ones intelligence. However, like you said Phill, IQ tests do provide as a decent stimulus for our minds. When you bring up thinking, it intrigues me, does one really become a genius by having a different state of mind? Or maybe reaching this so called enlightened way of thinking can be accomplished simply by studying for hours on end (in an effective way). Or maybe we all have the same intelligence, just some of us try harder than others. All of these questions I believe are unknown, except in the minds of geniuses.
This wasnt very helpfulit basically talked about replacing bad data with true data. That would be extremely helpful. Except for the fact that you can not state an opinion as true or false. Especially saying There is no God. It is impossible to prove that therefor you don not know it is true. (the world is also packed full of other information like that that is part of a persons own morals and is impossible to prove true or false.)
genius i dont know what it means all i know if you have the passion to know whats happening in your world thats a genius for me you are aware that you created in this world to do something its up to you to recognize your potential no one is better than the other they are just labeling someone better than the other. one thing common though for someone who has a higer IQ they have more time to learn more of something of someone and they ultimately care for that Religion is broad whatever your religion and faith, it is far beyond the state of mind in the end of the day its boils down to what matters to you we have all different state of geniusity in ourselves its up to you on how you enhanced it. everything is simple until it became complicated YOU became aware and then you acquire knowledge and then you have your own belief and then you stack up thats differ others from the geniuses thats what i believe
Science is only one part of the whole and I think it only explains one side of a story. What about that non physical side. I dont think we could ever explain the spiritual so we must turn to science to at least give us some sort of understanding of that which we can not see. We live in physical reality and can only understand what we see that which has form (sometimes not). Our senses sometimes deceive us wouldnt you say. LOL. Anyways this is just my own thoughts on it and it really does not matter. In the end we will all experience the truth of who we really are.
Ha. What is man without God (creator, absolute or whatever you call) ?
In the end you know that knowledge is nothing, all is left is your consciousness.
First of all cleaning your own cup is essential. Establishing communion with God takes you on the other level. Then you DONT need KNOWLEDGE to become GENIUS. (needing on becoming! is false) You dont need to become anything at all. You are already a Genius, just reverse the order- Brain is your tool not your master. (that is difficult yet simple, see how paradoxical life truelly is) Being Genius is not having knowledge and not having high IQ(becouse those are skills that anyone can learn). Genius is not cognitive content. It is cognitive capacity. It is speed and efficiency on processing information.
We will kill ourself with the science we are misusing in creating things like nuclear weapon and soon it will be the end of the world
The most intelligent person is the one who fear God in everything he does because the other genius will all die but he who believes in God will never die.He knows the secret that lead to eternal life.Tell me what else is important apart from life that will never end
I figure it has to be true, about helping others. How else will GOD or the universe or whatever you believe in help you. The answer I got out of this is its not about the quantity of knowledge you obtaine, but the quality and consistency of it. Everyone is a genius in their own right! This is not a religous arguement but everyone has a good point about the quote on spiritual entities. I believe that we are indeed capable of learning everything we encounter and we are depriving ourselves from that possibility by leading a life of medeocracy. Helping or contributing to others and learning how to concise the process of just that is in fact the role of a living genius.
I will be 18 in Dec. 11 and I will be a genius by then
Wow, lot of replies.
Just a thought on one of the first comments. Reply to Mikki Freemans comment.
If your choosen field is say software programming. You learn everything you can about software history, different programming languages, different programming levels ect. Every day you push yourself to learn more in this particular ocean of information.
Now if you choose to believe that an atom is real due to what you hear and read from scientists. This isnt something you have physically observed and tested yourself. This, according to your comment, Mikki, would not allow like 99 percent of people to become a genius. Even though this article claims that anyone can become one.
Also, in the section vital data. Number 26 The planet can be saved with..Dianetics Seems to imply that number 25 the planet is going down rapidly due to psychosomatic illness?!?
Maybe my vital data is wrong.. But I was under the impression we were going down due to overpopulation and polution.
Dear Writer,
I have been using all of my time on studying and how to study, how to remember, working on it day in and day out and still other people are alot better than I am my IQ is quite high, 144. I even have the motivation. The year before last year people made fun of me and got me in trouble becuase of the dillweed at V tech. I have been putting a lot of time into studying prodegies and those amazing minds and I can tell you that most of them are born and not made. My parents died in a fire so thats another reason I want to become the best I can be. I currently live with a friend. The only tv I watch is Death Note about fictional geniuses and I study real genuises in my spare time. Your leaning more towards the side of Nurture and Nurture could be a huge part in the development of those super-geniuses, but Studies also show that when it comes to Prodegies their IQs are generally above 140. In clinical prodigy PET scans studied several prodigies and in those studies six to seven times the normal blood flow flowed to their brain. This is for mathematical prodigies and calculators Their also seem to think in terms of episodic and visual memory and can trasition into long term memory almost effortlessly. (For clinical) As on the subject of god, my Ancestor Guo Ziyi, is a famous general in life and in death became the Taoist deitie of luck and good fortune.
On the japanese side of my family, Jubei Yagyu is my ancestor. As you can see I have good genetics as well, I have worked hard and I want it more than life itself. I have read over this article millions of times. You are born being a genius or you arent. P.S. I have also tried folding a thousand paper cranes and it doesnt work. I have tried to eart nothing but brain foods and drink nothing but water and juices. I am taking my Omega-3 fatty acids, each day and only get food such as salmon kiwi and the good fat. I have prayed to three different gods. but as you can see nothing really works. Geniuses are born not made! Otherwise I would be one already. Out of the supposedly miracle stories ive read the people became geniuses either didnt have the right enviorment or just didnt care.
Nice article but I believe no genius can truly attain a full level of genii without accepting religion and not questioning it. God is the universal mind, the all there, all awesome , all powerful thoughtforce. Without God there is no mind,and without mind, there is no universe. We are in this universe because we were made by GOD. I believe that we all have special ability, part of the God-mind (the super conscious) is in us-the sub conscious) and our minds are constantly shaping the universe we are living in.It is true that the universe is going down rapidly and it is due to our own thoughts. The article is okay and good and many should read it. Most of it is true and very practical except that part about God. remember we have God in us (our spiritual part), and this defines our lives and whether our becoming genius is going to benefit or waste us and our universe. There is no God but the spiritual entity of man could be considered to be a God when reached its potential capabilities.
Without God there would be no man. Why is it that your standard genius will always try and convinve yout that there is no GodBeing a genius doesnt mean you know everything. Sure, some scientists have proven lots of thingsbut they seem to be struggling to prove the most important thing. Do you really think that its a coincidence that we, as man, just evolved out of nothing. Sure, evolution is possiblebut where did it all begin. Who made the first organism to adapt and undergo the Darwins process of natural selection Dont say coincidence, prove it. You cant just always claim what you have proven, but try and neglect what you cant.
Other than that, good essay!
You can disprove God, nor can you prove the existence and integrity of such an entity. The reason why Geniuss often attempt to disprove the existence of the being because there have been numerous claims made by such doctrines as the Bible, which label the description of God as being entirely factual, Geniuss have the ability to use their own knowledge of what they have learnt to establish vital connections between fact and fiction, as a result, the hyperbole and elements presented within the distorted view do not measure up to the learned knowledge of physics and the laws of nature. It is entirely a coincidence, though a probable one, the restriction of free space within a single planet such as Earth, has often perpetuated the sensation of existing within a small universe. Contrary to belief, the universe is vast, and somewhat indefinable, there are virtually billions of areas within the universe that has the correct conditions to house life, Earth, simply being among the latter. Fossil records have provided highly indisputed evidence of the existence of evolution, to answer your first query, all life evolved from a single point of origin, the lukewarm conditions and perfect atmospheric environs provided highly habitable conditions for life, and the existence of water also justifies the beginning. All life evolved from singled celled, soft bodied organisms and organelles, each having a mitochondria and a nucleus, in much simpler terms, these single cells began to merge over the process of millions and millions of years, eventually, as their population flourished, these cells grew to become more complex, to adapt with their growing environment and myriad of predators. Evolution can also be evident today, some new born elephants have been born without tusks, due to the risk of being huntered by the human race, an obvious example of an animal adapting with an ever changing environment.
I believe in faith and burning desire.
I believe that if you have the burning desire to really become a genoius, and mix it with faith, you shall become one.
Im 17 years old, and have been smoking lots of marijuana/cannabis for a longer period of time because, I grew up in a very difficult enviroment, recently a quitted this abuse, and set to myself, that I will become smarter, I will become whoever I want to be. In my burning desire to quit this abuse and mixed with lots of faith, I did quit it.
And as I did this I realized that we humanbeings can do whatever we want to do, if we have the DESIRE to do it. This has opened up my mind for a lot of things, I recently read this book, by napoleon hill, its called, THINK AND GROW RICH. A very inspiring book for me, which also inspired me to write this.
I definitely recommond all of you reading this book, you may afterwards thrash it, if its not to your liking.
And also a great article, also inspired me quite a bit to keep up on my work.
Greetings from, Jesper D
/ps: There may be some typos, as for that I apologize.
People like Myles Munroe, Ben Carson e.t.c are on that league and truly believe in the resurrected Christ. I would give you home work and read the Bible as a your self improvement text Check on proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the teachings of Jesus for starters.
In hawaii, our focus isnt necessarily the norm of what it probably is in the motherland. Basically, the locals here are either struggling to keep up with the world or working day by day to admit themselves into the popularity club. Few here value the power of the mind and how it can lead lives. I find this essay interesting. Finally ive found a source worth grasping. People usually clinch to the destructive and useless data. Society regulates without purpose of these things. At least thats what i believe. Also, Ive been submitted to christianity as well as what most people would call it, mormonism. (im mormon). Frankly, believeing in something doesnt necessarily make it a hassle for the brain to invigorate. Doesnt it make you more of a genius if you can have faith in religion as well as the individual perspectives, recognition and evaluation of data? If it doesnt, does believing in santa clause danger the mental ability towards evaluation
and value? Ask yourselves that. Churches give suggestions and reccomendations, they dont force you to do anything. If so, thats Fd up. If half of the world read this essay, im sure theyre perspectives would change dramatically on how vital it is to edify and modify your thinking. Unless however, they dont care. Whats the point of life if you only know soooo little? hehe, I sure as hell want to know everything. Hopefully ill get there.
Best regards, peka
This was an interesting piece of writing, and Im glad to have seen your perspective on things. However, I do not agree with your idea of man being a spiritual entity. I believe that God created man, and we never achieve god-like status. Religion is not a reliable source for discovering what God is (and was) doing in the world, however, because religion is created by man. Humankind has stooped to find itself mistaken countless times, and thus you cannot believe what you are told by others all the time.
Science and reasoning are our basis of undeniable understanding on Earth, but questions of ethics and religion must be answered by the individual.
I completely agree with your theory about man kind and it being a spiritual entity. As to agreeing with never having a limit to knowledge and understanding everything about us as well as everything around us, this would have to be the case. With out an open mind, one limits himself to understand the comprehensible. One cannot simply believe there is only here and now. Seeing is not believing, truth can not simply be seen, it can also be perceived. Knowledge has no limit, and that limit can only be put by each and every individual. Since there are no limit, and there may be infinite possibilities. One must learn to separate data. If you think of it a human is like a computer. We recognize data, sort it and we define what will be thrown away or kept. It only merely reflects on life. With an open mind we can mor easily accept the truth. Because truth is somethings are so vital the time of process may leave us in a state of confusion. We can choose to be released out of this state of confusion an become stronger, or be easily affected, making this new obtained data, would actually become destructive data.
To Mikki,
I disagree with your statements. You cannot question the Creator as he is beyond our concepts of thought, space and time. So we cannot question his actions (I cant even say that they are actions (that way I am describing him with weak words-they mean nothing), and all things including intelligence (and so genius) were created by God. So if God created genius, think of our weaknesses, we can barely achieve genius.
1ST TO CREATIVE ADI ( I THINK he is talking about you be much more exigent on your self them what you would be in others. he is not talking about rights but about the responsibility you have wherever you go in life or you could say HEY IF I MAY, DONT WAIT OTHERS TO DO YOUR WAY thanks for your attention
Now about the rest of the article it is very nice congratulations
About humans being gods? I also agree in the sense that you can become better every day act righteously create a high sense of moral , be able to dominate your self and desire deeply a better day for humanity. I do believe that those that want to be great need first learn to serve. About the spirit thing and lower levels of existence and all, that felt a bit of a mambo jambo like any other (if you need to think by your self you must learn to be a bit of a scientist . don?t you agree?)
For example I believe in GOD with all my heart but I still doubting some things that I hear (I am not talking about miracles I am talking about the way people create dominion in other people believes in place of free them ) like all that spiritual entity mambo jambo (believe me there is a lot of entropy up there that no one needs).
The eternal pursuit of GOOD not glory. If you do good all your life speak the true and are able to give your self a little for the good of others it cant go wrong. Be out there entities or GOD or not(in the conception of those that do not believe) if you did good all your life don?t be afraid, you?ve won any game for sure you not going to hell and had the ability to look to the looking glass and feel no regrets. True GOOD is good any were and do not need to be presented. I humbly say: good bye and thanks for head
David Koresh
The dumbest shit I have ever read.
First, the definition of Genius is quite simply: Me. Quit putting this choking rubbish about scientology on the web. Anybody with half a fucking brain knows that motherfuckers with spaceships didnt come down and tell that fucking lunatic to start this little faggy cult. If people really believe they are going to unlock the secrets by paying astronomic $$$$$$$$, then the best thing for them is to find a new Jim Jones, and team up with the Kool-Aid man.
Second, the fact that you would even mention L. Ron Hubbard and Genius in the same essay makes you a super fucking retard. The only genius in L. Ron Hubbard was the fact that he designed a cult to swindle millions from people.
202.
David Koresh
said on December 14, 2009 at 07:23
Third, take an English class asshole. You cant write a paper about becoming a Genius if you cant write. DUH! Fucking shit for brains. It really shows you wrote this essay in a day. I wouldnt even let you design my fucking web page.
Fourth, you look like a Jew. Whats wrong with God? He rubs you the wrong way? Did you find out Jesus was the son of God? Please, your Jew brothers are sad, go back to them. If you find that unacceptable, there are plenty of other religions to pilfer essay ideas from, that at least make sense.
203.
David Koresh
said on December 14, 2009 at 07:24
Fifth, you cant devise away for someone to attain a Genius level. What you consider the appropriate path towards genius, plenty of others would disagree. I know a fuckin retard that cant even read, but he can play the piano better than Billy Joel. Does that make him a musical genius, or just a genius? As a philosopher you are supposed to recognize the different types of genius, thats what would make you a genius. Simply put, the parameters of genius are not set in stone. But, if you act now, Ill unlock the next level of scientology for only $99999999999999999.00. Dumb-ass!
Sixth, did you get the definition for genius from that fuckin scientology book? The Merriam-Webster dictionary definition is much more definitive and incredibly different. Too lazy to even look the fucking word up, arent you? Do your research dick-face!
In conclusion, your essay lacks grammar and punctuation, merit, and most importantly, research. If an individual lacks the brain capacity to attain higher levels of knowledge, than becoming a genius by your dictionary definition is purely irrelevant. Your article articulates the fact that almost anyone can become a genius. Just follow these simple steps. Thats L. Ron Hubbard thinking. This is what happens when you delve into the world of scientology. You become a fucking moron that thinks anything is possible. To be fair, I didnt even read the entire essay. Not for lack of motivation, but because I though its content would actually take away from my intellectual growth. For a deep thinker/philosopher, you arent the sharpest tack in the drawer. Seriously man, at this point in the spectrum, I feel suicide is your only answer. Youve obviously thought way too much about scientology, and I think its too late for you. Ill say a prayer for you. Remember, suicide doesnt have to be painful. Kool-Aid and cyanide should help you hop the spaceship to reality.
P.S I wrote this in about 5mins, and I didnt even spell-check.
David Koresh,
Dude.
1. It was written in 2004 when I was a scientologist. That was almost 6 years ago and I have completely left scientology since then.
2. I took the definition of genius from the Longman dictionary.
3. If you havent read the essay (your words) then you should not critisize it the way you did.
4. I know it has grammatical errors, see the note on the top.
5. Perhaps I should delete it but why? People obviously find it interesting.
6. Please go and bother someone else.
i didnt like some ideas the last part was good, despite a lot of trivial facts (which amazingly amazed a lot of people).
Man is basically good this is quite wrong, basically man is selfish, he has to consume in order to survive and he has to fight (nowadays in sophisticated ways) 4 the goods and good also good is an undefinable word in the context you use it
said on December 24, 2009 at 21:25
Although I am only eleven, I completely understand thisbut I do disagree with a few aspects of it. One, I do not believe that humans have any spiritual entity, in fact, I do not believe that there is such a thing as a spiritual entity, besides existing in the mind of man. No, I do not believe there is a God, though I am not against others believing in it. I agree with you, Mindauggasand I would also like to add that I dislike the fact that man has enforced laws and the like, and I think that we should get back to the survival of the fittest, coined by Herbert Spencer, because otherwise it will be survival of the mediocre, then survival of anybody, and then we will see what has gone wrong
I think this is the most funny piece of reading in a long while.
The author could apply his own theory to himself, starting with admitting that his theory is Usless data.
213.
Sylverone
said on January 24, 2010 at 19:47
I agree with some of the basic ideas presented here, and would like to share some relevant data. First, some quotes from George I. Gurdjieff.
Man such as we know him, is a machine.
Without self knowledge, without understanding the working and functions of his machine, man cannot be free, he cannot govern himself and he will always remain a slave.
Man has no individual I. But there are, instead, hundreds and thousands of separate small Is, very often entirely unknown to one another, never coming into contact, or, on the contrary, hostile to each other, mutually exclusive and incompatible. Each minute, each moment, man is saying or thinking, I. And each time his I is different. Just now it was a thought, now it is a desire, now a sensation, now another thought, and so on, endlessly. Man is a plurality. Mans name is legion.
The energy expended in active inner work is immediately transformed into new energy; that expended in passive work is lost forever.
I find these statements to be very true. In my own recent commitment to better myself, I have discovered acutely how different I am from moment to moment. It seems that most human beings, including myself in my present state, are distracted by the slightest things. To change our current state, we must begin to actively and observe our inner landscape. We must be vigilant, and discover in every situation why we have reacted the way we have. Once we begin to recognize divisions and contradictions within ourself, we must begin to resolve them. Essentially, we must remove all lies from ourself.
Concerning your statements about different types of data, I agree. Essentially, to become a genius, it seems one must *learn how to learn*, that is, learn how to readily recognize and absorb vital information. Vital knowledge is that which leads toward awareness, understanding, and eventual mastery of the self. It sets us free.
Awesome article!! However, what I didnt get is how by questioning mass-believes you can become a genius? I am an average person NOT a genius, but I have an attitude since childhood not to accept believes as they are passed on me till I find the rational. How did it make a difference?
On GOD part..I dont fully agree as I believe that GOD is how you perceive IT. Religious HOLY books are tailor made for NOT SO THINKING people. To SIMULATE vital data of life in an easy understandable way and to enforce discipline with FEAR OF GOD. But people capable of ascertaining the vital data from their observation and thinking, dont require to just blindly believe what these HOLY books are saying. They can feel the existence of an holy almighty spirit in every living /nonliving things of the universe. Feel themselves as a part of that entity and drive life towards their purpose with no attachment to material world. Good or bad makes equal sense to them !
I partially agree with you on spiritual entity of man could be considered to be a God when reached its potential capabilities. Because I feel that spiritual entity has infinite potential,but a man can only reach up to a finite goal.
Looking forward for your comment. Apology for bad English.
Thanks, Anirban Dey
I feel That god whom most of the people beleive is nothing but a I the topic is of How to be genius And here too we did stop ourselves bringing in the God.So, my personal view about Him. Imagination of someone all powerful and everything who did, do and will be doing all what we see, observe , feel and could not explain properly the exact reason of it. God defines our limit of thinking and rationality. imagine it would be very easy for anyone to expain the formatin of universe while using God, would he be able to do so that easliy in any
other way. we imagined Him to Be all powerful, All present, all knowing, all kind, passionate and all the good qualities and words of praise that man could, have created. We covered many facts, quires about Him by making excuses. Actually the truth is that our faith, our beleive though true or false is God. Just have faith in yourself in Place of the usual god whom we know and you could be, get anything what you want or desire, like being genius.
I believe that there is a God. Many can never fathom why He exists. They do some research and dig in some real deal facts. They show it and stick it in our face and even do some dirty talk. Some facts like we all came from evolution and all. That what if there are aliens, whos the God for aliens? They have all these long long long series of facts that persuade them to believing God isnt real.
Yeah, but did it ever come to these people with feeble minds that these are tests for their faith? Did it ever occur to them that He is letting them do it, and choose their own fate? Choose their limited minds formulated facts over eternal gift laid out for you when you leave this world? People do NOT understand what they are missing and they are purposely missing it out for what? PRIDE? to be called a GENIUS? seriously.
God is REAL. You cannot ignore His presence.
Would you believe that a big tree can fall from the sky and create a boat on its own and this happened by accident? If you dont believe this, then how could you believe the whole universe happened by accident?
Thanks for the article Jim
I agree with your perspective on how to become a genius because I have first hand experience, I havent reached a very high level yet but I certainly have boosted my existence, four years ago at my second year of university, I was assessed for dyslexia, I turned out to be severely dyslexic which means my brain development is unstable, so that I am unusually highly intelligent in some aspects of intelligence and usually limited in intellect in other perspectives the bigger the gap in intellect the more severe your case is, I was classed the most dyslexic student in my university in 20years of the universitys history, my weakness was particularly language and is still my challenge today, my the highest of my strengths is my ability to compare and contrast, for me specifically I had a great mind that was producing
ideas non stop but a slightly below average memory so my mind was not coping, this lead to only the best or most powerful ideas to me mostly remembered but as Jim said my ideas were not necessarily true or constructive. My brain was affecting my life every aspect of it, all my life I found it hard to focus, I had low self confidence and low self esteem even though I was popular, hansom and successful, the problem was because I could not rely on myself as my mind was all over the place and I couldnt do anything properly, plus my ideas were constantly shifting, this lead to me into all sorts of mess, I was constantly making friends but losing shortly after or I would have friends but I found it hard to be close to them because I was constantly changing because my memory is low but my intellect is high, I never held a proper relationship with any woman longer than 6 months, I couldnt even hold a job down, only unless mundane brain dead jobs, I was in and out of a depressed states of mind and wasted a lot of time and opportunity because of fear and insecurity.
Before being assessed I never read a book nor did I pay close attention to what is going on around me (so my data level was really low) and relied on others to do things for me or even to think for me at times. After the assessment something happened within me, I decided that I had enough, I am going to fight and no matter what happens I will never give up, not even for a moment, I started writing my ideas down very frequently and improving on what I wrote on previous occasions elevating it to a higher level, I started paying attention to every single detail that I notice and others notice and interpreting what does it mean and how can I use it for my benefit, I started reading, asking around, experimenting, I even began to look at those much more intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced and more successful than me learning their ways and even improving on it and improving existing family bonds, non stop, day in day out (helping gaining more data, the more people love you the more they will share with you and correct you). My entire perception, personality and intellectual level boosted drastically, know I can focus and remember much more, I become much more energetic, confident, social and successful. My life has improved, difficult or intimidating things started to become easy and hard tasks and concepts began to look more attractive. My ability to learn has speeded up and has become deeper, for example if I learn something from you, not only would I understand it, visualise it and prioritise it, I can take it further by turning your idea into a concept and applying it in every aspect of my day to day life within maximum a week minim half an hour, just imagine doing that every second of the day with everyone and everything that comes around me.
Some people dont believe in God and there are some that do, but the fact is the truth is the truth no matter which way any of us look at it, and there is more than one way of reaching the truth and we can see that in science and mathmatics and so on. God has opened up my mind, I asked him if he can with his Garce open my mind before even thinking about getting assessed for dyslexia, he easied the everything for me, the assessment was even paid by the government and I recieved 20mins extra time per hour in exams, i recieve 4500 worth of equipment for free and in the end I graduated and got a job and become a better person as a result of a tiny wish from a tiny being to a mighty and very kind and forgiving God.
Anyways I thought I would share my story with you, since you were kind enough to share your ideas Jim.
I have a story.. quite an interesting one. I do not know what to call myself though. By the way, I am deaf and at the time I was a slow learner in 5th grade. After this, I am not a slow learner anymore. =]
I was going to my step-dads sister in law house for dinner before X-mas eve. All kids and nieces, nephews, my older bro and I stayed outside and played. For a second I looked upon the heaven and saw a red Horse Nebula.. something that you only can see with powerful telescope.. I thought that meant good luck. I ignored it, and went on playing. My older brother was the first one to try to do snowboard on a plank wood, off a ice hill, very small.. I told him I wanted to try it too so I went on, and I went down and fell and hit my head on the ice. My head hurts a little but eh I ignored it as usual. When we came home and went to bed.. Guess what happened to me? I woke up being one of the world most powerful genius as I can envision multi-layer of ideas, mathematics, and ability to solve several problems at the same time. I look at a single item and I instantly knew how to make it, what it was made from, etc etc.. It was as my eye were the same technology from the movie Iron Man when Stark is trying to design something with his technology. It was most amazing thing ever. I was getting As in everything and teachers were puzzled. A teacher asked me what is the purpose of life? I remember that I only needed half of a second to instantly answer her question. A teacher asked me where is the planet Jupiter? I was able to figure that out by using Einsteins theory of relativity and the grid and the placement of Earth, the Sun, the speed, and the rotation speed. I pointed it above my head and said, Jupiter is there.. She was so stunned by my answer. It was also odd because I also has the ability to learn everything about a person instantly if I looked at that person. Past, present, their favorite foods, how they thinks, how they feels, etc. It was an quite impossible feats. After a week, my interpreter asked me if I want to skip straight to the 10th grade instead, and if I do well there, I would have finished high school at age 12 and in college and I would had finished college at age 15 or earlier since I was so unusually smart. I told her no. Why? Because I rather be normal and be able to make friends and stuffs like normal people would. I asked myself if I could be normal again and it did what I asked it to. It made me go back to my normal self, except, I am not a slow learner anymore. It cured me. And you know what is so amazing about this? It lasted for a WEEK which most people would only have a day. It was great, but also very tiring since I was constantly non-stop making ideas, technology, etc.. I couldnt sleep until 2 am every night with only 4 hours of sleep. I remember that I asked myself if it was possible to make superman technology. I instantly answered the question and said yes. So somehow, I just know it.. it is possible. All those scientists are wrong about it not being possible. Every answers I did was ALWAYS right. The secrets of the universe now once again locked away in my brain.
Many years later.. I want to regain my genius back again, but I got it when my head was hurt so I am not sure how to get it back again and I am not sure what I am called. At that time, I was not called a Genius because I was considered above genius so Hyper-Genius? Ive had better ideas than Einstein had. Does anybody know what that was called? By the way, how many people do you know that is able to calculate the current position of any planets using only their brain, not a machine computer?
You contradict yourself when you say talking with people is not a trait of a genius, but to go out establish relationships and make new friends, please explain. You also say this article was never revised or modified but I read the article a little over a year and after reading it again you changed socializing to talking.
Jim, you can gain insight from talking with people, it all depends on your perogative at the given time. Douh ya big red truck. Heres a proverb from the bible let no corrupt word depart from your mouth but what is good for nessecary edification that it may impart grace to the hearers. Once you have gods respect your not to far from faith. I know you wrote this at a time when you were going through trial and error, Dont take the essay down but please make some modifacations. with great power comes great responsibility
Useless Data: # Man is not an animal. Man is a spiritual entity capable of far far more than has ever been considered. # The spiritual entity is not part of the physical universe but the creator of it. # The spiritual entity is operating around three operations: Generation of truth, considering and perceiving. # The current physical universe is the product of agreement between spiritual entities. # The common denominator between all spiritual entities is the playing of a game and the anatomy of game consist of freedom, barrier and purpose. # The spiritual entity cannot die but is operating on different awareness levels and different tones. # The spiritual entity has to downgrade itself in order to play a game. # When a spiritual entity has lack of games he accepts and plays games on lower levels. # There is no God but the spiritual entity of man could be considered to be a God when reached its potential capabilities. # The spiritual entities are animating life in an organism in the physical universe to play a game. # The current spiritual entities of man has been downgraded to an almost nonexistent level throughout its history.
And The planet can be saved with the science of Dianetics and the practical philosophy of Scientology.
Jim. I believe all the good stuff youve written but not the point about no existence of a God.You have to know that God created you and you cannot be a genius if he didnt bring you into the world in the first place.Therefore, I strongly advice you to go and read the Bible because it will add a lot of VITAL DATA into your system. This will inform you more
Hello everyone, excellent article by the way. I just wanted to note that I theorize that the key to becoming a genius is by thinking of yourself as one currently (the mind is a very powerful tool which when tricked can work to your advantage or damage you); which you have already covered. Also I theorize that a key to becoming genius is by ensuring that your body has the correct energy and is very healthy. (Your brain uses an average of 20% of your bodys energy and as we all know requires oxygen).so I just wanted to establish the key points to my theory of aquiring the title genius, there are also a couple pointers I could present regarding posture, nutrition, and excercise. Please provide feedback if you wish, I am curious to know what others think.
Hello, again. I had to keep talking because im in such a chatty mood. Anyway, my sole purpose this time is to essentially spark deep thought. First off, Marcus, I would like to say that your story doesnt seem to make sense to me, (even though im putting your information presented in your story in comparison with the world as we see it today; i.e. modern physics, anatomy, etc. It doesnt seem to make sense how a bludgeon to the head can increase intelligence, awareness, or artistic sight. As if it were hitting a button as we would currently consider it. To align your story up with our current world, I theorize that the only way one could obtain hyper genius would be if they ignored stimuli around our world and made their own estimated guesses, which even that couldnt be conducted because you are presenting your knowledge in the terms that we are fimiliar with. Quite possibly your mind is focused around media, (you did mention superman), or you may have valid insight. I am quite curious why you mentioned that scientists dont believe that
superman is not possible because the way I look at humans is we are ever curious and so for you to state that they declared it impossible seems bologna.plus I wanted to bring up a point regarding the ever famous topic of GOD, it is a topic that has its validity for good reason. The reason being, it provides us humans with strength if we embrace one of the many beliefs out there. As I stated earlier, the mind is a powerful tool; now, I theorize that religion provides information for our brains to believe in and acquire whatever psycological factor we wish, i.e. when one confesses their wrong doing to a greater good, they acquire a sense of cleanliness because that was the sense they had intended to acquire when deciding to confess. Quite possibly my theory is incorrect, but like I said earlier, my purpose in this monologue is to spark deep thought. Once again, please provide feedback.
I disagree with the authors view of what can be considered vital data. I think that issues involving the spirit world and our creation is unknown and unknowable. I think that what is more important is simply understanding that information exists which tells of possible creation theories and that there might be a spirit world beyond the bodies we inhabit. However, I think that accepting anything other than what science teaches us is the truth creates the danger of people stopping asking questions, which is a stagnant form of thinking which goes against the genius mind. You see, a true genius knows that the world is constantly changing, and stagnant knowledge is dead knowledge. It is not vital, it is destructive. Why would someone learn so much if not because they felt that the knowledge they have is incomplete? It is incomplete because it is yesterdays knowledge.
However, I think his methods on how to become a genius are corerect. Some things I would add are:
1. Most vital data comes from genius minds. Find out who the geniuses are for whatever you would like to learn about and learn from them the most. 2. Never accept data as 100% true, because life is constantly changing and whatever was true yesterday might not be true today. 3. Recognize that there are many means to learning beyond just reading a book. You can talk to people, read essays, read news articles, browse reputable academic websites, read college grade textbooks, go to conferences, and Im sure many other methods. 4. If your perception of time is that you have a lot of it and it goes by slowly, you have a destructive perception of time. It will result in you doing things much more slowly than if you view time as something you do not have a lot of and it goes by quickly, because the only way to get ahead is if your body and mind can push themselves to do more within the time that you are given. 5. Your brain is a muscle. You must feed it well and give it time to rest or it will simply not have the energy to do what you want it to do. 6. If you find that you are reluctant to learn something because it seems boring, dont throw it away. Learn how to make even the dullest piece of information interesting by connecting it to the things you enjoy. 7. Learn shortcuts to analyzing data, such as faster more efficient ways to compute an equation in your head. 8. If someone makes you angry because you think they are wrong, consider why they might believe what they do, such as how they were raised, and calm down. Use this knowledge to learn about them, help them see whats right, and learn how you might be wrong. 9. Learn to find vital information where it seems that only somewhat valuable or even useless data can be found. Here I include TV, which the author disagreed with. Even there vital information can be found if you know where to look.
10. Learn more than one language. In fact. learn as many as you can as well as you can and as quickly as you can. All vital information does not come from just one country.
Also, its important to know that just because you are a genius does not mean that you need to seem like a genius to everyone. Part of having good people skills is knowing that people will only learn from an idea you present if you make it understandable to someone who is not as smart as you. And, always recognize that there are almost always people out their who are smarter than you, but rather than believing that you will never be as smart as them, admire them and learn from them.
so let me get this straight dude what your trying to say is that if i become an atheist and all that free mind thinking stuff i would eventually end up becoming a genious myself, this is crap i mean some great scientists like einstein ( who wasnt a jew) but still he was famous and had an iq higher then anyone. how would you support that, i can name many scientists with high iq, what really matters is how you percieve something and how creative you are, the thing that differentiates you from rest of the people.
What you say is partly true. Stupid people, and i will go so far as to say religious people deny any type of change in there stable datum disregarding any proof or logical thinking. Even worse they come up with the most illogical bullshit to defend their stable datum (as you like to call it). So no not everyone can be a genius, a true genius also doesnt need you to tell him this. A true geniuss stable datum changes every second!
A true genius is the one who tells the the other non-genius that (as in your example) that not all men are equal. And they are not because not everyones a genius .
So tough luck you wannabes but geniuss are born not created, you can however at least embrace logic if you cant youre down right stupid.
This line means that not being a genius doesnt mean youre stupid. Being a genius is btw not as much fun as you think it is. As a matter of fact it blows cause its very frustrating. Ignorance is bliss!
