governance of its global business activities, critical strategic issues facing the company
etc.)

2. Using relevant theories and company illustrations, undertake a detailed

evaluation of the company's global strategy. The report should contain the following
information about the global company:
1.An executive summary
2.A brief history of the firm and its internationalisation process.
3.An evaluation of the current external environmental conditions facing the firm
including the Macro and Industry environments, highlighting some of the current
strategic challenges facing the firm.
4.Company resource audit - identifying the company's assets, resources and
competencies.
5.An identification and evaluation of the firm’s current strategy (corporate, business unit,
and global). Is the strategy sustainable?
6.An analysis of strategic implementation, organizational structure, use of power and
control, Where relevant, consideration of the company's philosophy and strategic
approach to the global management of its operations
7.Based on your analyses, what are the most urgent issues that need attention through the
company's strategy? Recommend a course of action.
Instructions and Submission Requirements
1. When answering the set question, it is important to apply the range of appropriate
conceptual theories and frameworks. Answers should also be illustrated by valid, up-to-
date and detailed company examples (i.e. referring to the company which you have
been allocated by your lecturer). You should be able to demonstrate awareness of the
whole scope of your company's activities but in the case of a large organisation may wish
to focus your examples on one or two divisions.
2. You should ensure that you fully understand the Assessment Criteria for this
assignment, which is contained at the end of this material.3. The length of the assignment
is 6 pages (plus or minus 10%, not including bibliography. Any material exceeding this
length will not be assessed. Students should note the exact number of pages on the front
page of their assignment, along with the name of their allocated company. Each
answer should be in report format.
4. Assignments should be word-processed using Font 13 with 1.5 line spacing. A
recognised referencing system and bibliography should be included. E.g. Harvard
System.
