DISSERTATION REPORT.
Dissertation is concerned with integrating your learning
of 4.5 years in architecture through a research project.

Students are expected to research on a particular


topic with an aim of finding a appropriate solution to a
presented problems demonstrating your ability to use
effectively the tools of independent investigation and
judgement to evolve design culture.

Student shall choose the subject related to architecture


only, by considering following aspects:
1. Data Collection and Analysis
2. User’s requirement and justification.
3. Socio-economic uses
4. Climatic/Environmental issues.

ACADEMIC 5. Selection of site.


6. Method of construction
7. Integrated building services.
REQUIREMENTS 8. Landscape and its affect on town planning.

At the end of the semester, each student Is expected


to submit all ORIGINAL drawings prepared as per
specifications of the department. Three copies of the
report in the specified format along with the model
submitted to the department, after obtaining the
approval to the respective guides.

For, the end exam Viva will be conducted by the jury


comprising of minimum two external examiners along
with the internal faculty.

40% of the marking is internal and the rest 60% is


through external . In total the Marking would be from
200 Marks.
‘Dissertation’ = Researching on a particular
topic.

Topic has to be of your choice


(but to be approved by the guides on the
panel)

You should be able to justify your jury, your right


to graduate and practice as an architect.

1. Re-search topic must be the one which you
have selected.
2. Topic must be within your interest.
3. Topic must be within your specialisation.
4. The topic must be in your ability rather
competence to tackle the necessary
problem.
5. The project must have definable limits to
suit your available resources.
6. The topic should be researchable and
manageable.
