1. Create a class XI CBSE ALS Project file aligned with any one of the 17 SDGs
ranging from Women’s Empowerment to Fixing the Environmental Crisis.

The Full List of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development (movingworlds.org)

For example, you can link your project to

(a) SDG #15: Research and maintain a record of the trees cut down and the parks
demolished in your area, or any other act that violates the environment and leads to an
increase in the pollution level.

(b) SDG # 2: You can develop a creative way to help put an end to hunger in your
community such as a food recovery programme or a food drive to prevent food wastage,
etc.

( c) SDG#4: You can volunteer at an NGO which provides education to children who
would otherwise go without education or start a teaching club with like minded
individuals in your locality.

Similarly, you can link the other goals to socio-economic issues at the community
level/city/school/ country/Lakshadweep or Andamans and Nicobar Islands; spread
awareness and suggest measures to meet the objectives of any one of these goals.

PROJECT PRESENTATION

Write a report or an essay in about 800-1000 words based on your

research/findings/experience, etc. Attach evidence of your research work in the form of
a survey questionnaire, data collected, graphs, other visuals/photographs, etc. for an
effective presentation.

(The project should be handwritten.)

2. (SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and
Production SDG 13: Climate Action):

Electric vehicles have become promising alternatives for sustainable and cleaner energy
emissions in transportation, the modeling and simulation of electric vehicles has attracted
increasing attention from researchers. Prepare a presentation based on mathematical
modelling clearly highlighting the advantages and limitations of both Electronic vehicles
and Fuel driven vehicles.

The above comparison should be based on real time data.

3. Tesla, an electric vehicle manufacturer, has revolutionised the automotive industry by

promoting the adoption of electric vehicles. By producing zero-emission vehicles,
Tesla contributes to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate
change. Tesla's emphasis on producing zero-emission vehicles and its efforts to create
a sustainable transportation ecosystem has had far-reaching implications. By
promoting the adoption of EVs, Tesla has accelerated the transition to cleaner
transportation, reduced the greenhouse gas emissions, and is combating climate
change. Through its innovative approaches, Tesla continues to shape the automotive
industry and inspire advancements in sustainable mobility.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The automobile industry in the Andaman and Nicobar
Islands is relatively small due to the island's remote location and limited market size. The
local population relies on a mix of private vehicles, public transportation, and tourist vehicles
to meet its transportation needs. However, the adoption of electric vehicles and sustainable
transportation solutions is gradually gaining momentum, driven by initiatives from the local
government to promote clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.

Lakshadweep: Similarly, Lakshadweep, being a group of remote islands, has limited

industrial activities, including the automobile industry. The population of Lakshadweep
primarily relies on traditional modes of transportation such as boats and ferries due to the
unique geographical characteristics of the islands. However, efforts to improve transportation
infrastructure and promote sustainable mobility solutions, including the adoption of electric
vehicles, are being considered to address the island's specific transportation needs.
Based on the above the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), attempt any one
activity given below:

• Our consumption practices/ patterns are putting tremendous pressure on the planet,
driving climate change and pollution, which is pushing several species towards
extinction. We need to make better decisions about the things we buy and the trips we
take. With reference to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal and the
Lakshadweep Islands in the Arabian Sea, draw a poster on waste sheets that can be
reused, showing your decisions or suggestions for the market players (consumers,
wholesalers, and retailers) that will help in reclaiming our planet for better sustainable
development of our society.

• As an entrepreneur, what strategies would you propose to the government to develop

a robust charging infrastructural network in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to
support electric vehicle usage? Present this activity in the form of a Powerpoint
presentation.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a global framework for addressing
various social, economic, and environmental challenges and promoting sustainable
development. While the COVID-19 pandemic has certainly disrupted progress towards
achieving the SDGs, it also presents an opportunity to take conscious efforts to realign and
accelerate progress. We must raise awareness, support responsible consumption, adopt
sustainable practices, educate, and empower others.

By making conscious efforts and inspiring others to follow suit, we can contribute to the
global pursuit of sustainable development and the fulfilment of the SDGs.
