INDIVIDUAL SPORT:
FIGURE SKATING
It a sport in which ice skaters, either alone or in pairs, gracefully execute freestyle jumps, spins, lifts, and
footwork. Figure skating comes in many forms, such as freestyle, pairs, ice dancing, and synchronized team
skating. With each type of skating, there are differences in the competition's style as well as the skaters'
movements and techniques. One of the most famous Winter Olympic sports is figure skating.

HISTORY OF FIGURE SKATING

The first reference to figure skating is reportedly found in Englishman Robert Jones' Treatise on Skating
around 1772. Prior to American Jackson Haines' introduction of his expressive, free, and dance-based
approaches in the middle of the 1860s, the sport had a limited and formal style. By introducing it to American
audiences at the beginning of the 20th century, Americans Irving Brokaw and George H. Browne contributed to
the formalization of the Haines-created style. Brokaw competed in the 1908 Olympics and finished sixth,
making him the first American to represent the nation abroad. Browne, who arranged the first U.S.
championships in 1914 for men, women, and pairs, produced two key books on skating and was responsible in
the founding of a national skating organization.

COURT DIMENSION:
The overall dimensions of a figure skating rink are 196.85' (60 m) long by 98.43' (30 m) wide, with a
total surface area of 18,707 ft2 (1738 m2). A figure skating rink's corners have a radius of 27.89' (8.5 m). Figure
skating competitions and ice hockey games are frequently played on skating rinks, which typically have the
same size for both sports. In contrast to hockey, a figure skating rink is unmarked and free of goals to provide
competitors and performers as much open space as possible. The rink's ice is designed to be smooth and
durable, and its temperature ranges from -5.5C (22F) to -3.5C. (26F).

RULES OF THE GAME

Athletes in all Figure Skating contests must execute a variety of movements in order to get the judges'
highest possible rating. Athletes typically do a variety of spins, jumps, and steps throughout a performance.
DUAL SPORT:
ARCHERY
In the game of archery, a bow is used to shoot arrows at a target from a predetermined
distance (s). Archery, which is derived from the Latin word "arcus," was formerly only used for
combat and hunting. Although the majority of archers prefer archery as an individual sport,
there are some competitions where teams can compete. Your points in these competitions count
toward the total for the team. Even in certain events, these two are combined. Therefore, you
can compete both individually and collectively at the same time.

HISTORY OF ARCHERY
One of the oldest arts still widely practiced is archery. Archery has been around from the beginning of
human history, and archery-related artifacts have been discovered all across the world. The oldest known users
of bows and arrows were the Ancient Egyptians, who embraced archery for hunting and warfare approximately
3,000BC, even though archery certainly dates back to the Stone Age, or around 20,000 BC. The English
longbow became popular in the Middle Ages and was employed in numerous well-known European
engagements, including Crécy and Agincourt. Even though it is currently ignored, a legislation in England that
required every man of legal age to practice archery every Sunday was never abolished. In 1583, Finsbury,
England hosted the first modern-era archery competition, which featured 3,000 competitors.

COURT DIMENSION
The minimum outdoor archery requirements that Archery GB recommends are: 1. a grassy athletic field
without a backstop net that is at least 113.75 meters long and 37.62 meters wide. Where a back stop net at least
40 meters and 20 meters wide is employed.

medal, while the loser receives a silver medal.

TEAM SPORT:
BASEBALL
Baseball is frequently thought of as a single sport, but it may also be practiced and played successfully
as a group. When teammates cooperate to make winning plays, the game's unique dynamics are at work.

RULES OF BASEBALL
There are four bases: first base second base third base and home, called “home plate.” To score a run in
baseball, a baserunner has to advance in order from home to first, then to second, then to third, then back to
touch home plate. This is one of the fundamental baseball rules. The foul lines separate fair create this fair
territory from foul territory. If the ball hits the foul line it is fair so if it touches any part of the line it’s fair and
if it hits the yellow foul pole at the home run fence that is a fair ball and would be ruled a home run. Any ball
hit in fair territory requires the batter to run to first base then, to second base then third base then home.
Anything in foul territory, if it’s still in play, can be caught in the air – these batted balls can still become an out.
But if it’s hit on the ground in foul territory. There is also territory that we call “out of play,” which is also a
foul territory but fielder’s can’t go there. If the ball is thrown into out of play, or if it’s hit out of play, the play is
going to be dead.
