House of Representatives

- The house of Representatives of the Philippines o sa tagalong ay Kapulungan ng mga kinatawan ng pilipinas is
the lower house of the congress of the Philippines
- The lower house is usually called congress the senate is the upper house.
- So sabi dito it composed of 120 member maximum, ito ay provided in the present constitution to a maximum of
180, to be apportioned among several provinces as nearly as may be according to the number of their
inhabitants, although each province shall have at least 1 member.
- Members of the house are officially styled as representative o kinatawan ito yung mga congressmen at
congresswomen
- They are elected to a 3 year term. Pwede sila ma re-elect ngunit hindi maaaring magsilbi ng higit sa tatlong
magkakasunod na termino.
- Term limits nila ay 3 consecutive terms o 9 years
- The house of representatives is headed by the speaker
- The speaker of the house is the third in the presidential line of succession, after the vice and the senate
presidents.
- The congress is responsible two main duties are making laws and scrutinizing o sa tagalong e siyasatin ang
trabaho ng gobyerno.

Judiciary
- The judiciary is the branch of the government which administers justice according to law. The term is used to
refer broadly to the courts, the judges, magistrates, adjudicators and other support personnel who run the
systems.
- Basically, ang korte ang naglalapat ng batas at nagaayos ng mga hindi pagkakaunawaan at nagpaparusa sa mga
lumalabag sa batas na naayon sa batas. Ito yung important function ng Philippine judiciary, they give justice to
the people, whenever they may approach it.
- So basically speaking ang concern neto ay ang Law at ang legal system.
- Its principal function is to screen prospective appointees to any judicial post.
- It is composed of the chief justice as ex-officio chairman,the secretary of justice and representatives of congress
as ex-officio members and a representative of the integrated bar, a professor of law, a retired member of the
supreme court and a representative of the private sector as members.
- The Congress shall prescribe the qualifications of judges of lower courts, but no person may be appointed judge
thereof unless he is a citizen of the Philippines and a member of the Philippine Bar.
