LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS

PRE- GRADE QUARTER/DOMAIN DATE &

SERVICE LEVEL TIME
TEACHER
7 THIRD QUARTER March 2, 2023

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of the key concepts
of geometry of shapes and sizes and geometric relationships.
B. Performance The learner is able to create models of plane figures and
Standard formulate and solve accurately authentic problems involving
sides and angles of polygon.
C. Learning At the end of the discussion, the students are expected to:
Objectives  Define an angle,
 Identify the parts of an angle, and
 Relate angles in a real-life situation.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topics ANGLES
B. References - Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) – Mathematics 7 -
Quarter 3 Module 1
- Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC)
C. Materials PowerPoint Presentation, laptop, & TV
D. Integration Science (Touch the examples on the application of angles in
real-life situations.)
E. Values Integration  Creativity
 Determination
 Collaboration
III. PROCEDURES PRELIMINARIES
Preparatory Activities PRAYER
(The teacher will instruct the students to stand for the
prayer)

GREETINGS
(The teacher will send her greetings to the class)

CLEANING
(The teacher will instruct the students to pick up some pieces
of trash or garbage and arrange the chairs properly)

CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
(The teacher will check the attendance by collecting the
names of absent)

Development REVIEW
Activities What was our topic yesterday?
- Yesterday, we had discussed the subsets of a line
such as; ray and line segment.
Which subset of a line has one endpoint and extends
infinitely in one direction?
- Ray
What part of a line has two end points and has a definite
length?
- Line Segment

Motivation ACTIVITY 1: Present a Picture

a. What are the geometric shapes that can be found in

the picture presented?
b. Can you find angles in this picture?
c. Do you think angles are useful in real-life situations?
If yes, how can we correlate angles in our daily lives?

- Angles play an essential role in every aspect of

our lives and are found throughout nature.
There are many uses and practical applications
for angles in daily life.
 Architects and engineers use angles to design
homes, machines, structures, roads, and bridges.
 Carpenters use angles to create furniture like
couches and chairs.
 Angles subtended at the center of the Earth are
used to measure latitudes and longitudes.

Activity ACTIVITY 2: Crossword Puzzle

Instruction:
a. Group the class into four.
b. The students will be given 5 minutes to do the
activity.
c. Students are required to find words in the crossword
puzzles and explain the words they have found.
d. Each group will choose two representatives to write
their output on the board and explain their answer.

Analysis (The teacher will ask the students)

 How were you able to find the word?
 Do you find it easy?
Abstraction ANGLES
(The teacher will start the discussion by showing the lesson
through a PowerPoint Presentation)

 ANGLE

Definition:

An angle is formed by two rays that share a common

endpoint. This endpoint is called vertex and the rays are
called the sides of the angle. Degree denoted by °, is a unit
used when measuring an angle.

Vertex: Point Z
Sides: ZE and ZA

NAMING AN ANGLE
There are three ways in naming an angle.

1. Naming it by its vertex only.

Z •
∠Z Read as: Angle Z

2. Naming it by listing three letters, one from each side

and the vertex at the middle.
E

Z • A

∠EZA or ∠AZE
Read as: Angle EZA or Angle AZE

NOTE:
Observe that the middle letters should always be the
vertex.

3. Naming using a number.

1

∠1 Read as: Angle 1
EXAMPLE:

Direction: Identify the parts of the given angle. Name the

given angle by its vertex and by listing three letters.

ANGLE VERTEX SIDES NAME

1. Point A 1. ∠A
M 1. AM
• 2. ∠MAN
3. ∠NAM
A• •
N 2. AN

Application ACTIVITY 3: NAME IT

Direction: Identify the parts of the given angle. Name the
given angle by its vertex and by listing three letters.

ANGLE VERTEX SIDES NAME

1. Point E 1. ∠E
P 1. EP
• 2. ∠PET
3. ∠TEP
E• •
T 2. ET

Generalization (The teacher will let the students state the concepts learn by
summarizing the lesson)

ACTIVITY 4: Give a short summary of what we had

discussed about an angle.

IV. EVALUATION
ACTIVITY 5: Matching Type

Column A Column B
1. It is formed by two rays that has two endpoints. a. Vertex
2. What is a unit used in measuring an angle? b. Side
3. It is the common endpoints in an angle. c. Straight
