OpenAI launched ChatGPT, an AI chatbot system, in November 2022 to demonstrate and

test the capabilities of a very massive, powerful AI system. It will provide you with relevant

information in response to any questions. You could ask it to explain Newton's principles of

motion, just as they are in Wikipedia. You can ask it to create a poem and then instruct it to make

it more entertaining. You ask it to create a computer program to demonstrate all the possible

word combinations.

But there's a catch: ChatGPT doesn't have any knowledge. It is an AI trained to identify

patterns in significant amounts of text taken from the internet and then further programmed with

the help of humans to provide more helpful, better dialog. As OpenAI cautions, the answers you

receive seem logical and credible, but they could also be completely incorrect.

For years, businesses have been looking for ways to assist customers in finding what they

need, and AI researchers attempting to crack the Turing Test have been interested in chatbots.

Can a human tell the difference between a conversation with a human and a computer? It is the

renowned "Imitation Game" that software engineer Alan Turing devised in 1950 as a means of

determining intelligence.
