2. Discussion

An affix is a set of letters generally added to the beginning or end of a

root word or base word to modify its meaning. The root is the portion
of the word that remains when all prefixes and suffixes have been
removed.

There are two kinds of affixes

1. Prefix – is a group of letters that come before a root or base word.

Prefix is a special group of letters because it can change that
meaning of the root word and make an entirely new word.
2. Suffix – is a letter added at the end of the word to form another
word or new meaning.

For example, in the word conforming, con- is the prefix and -

ing is the suffix, while "form" is the root.
3. Fixing skills/Exercises
Group the students into 2 groups. Compose each group with
girls/boys. Each group should have a leader to present in
class. Remind the learners to give respect and care to
encourage learning.
Rubrics must be presented before the activity.
