215 + 60% of 160 - ? = √625
215 + 96 - ? = 25 7Solution
286 = ? 34.99% of 980.01 – 6.013 = ?2- √289.99
Hence, option d. 35% of 980 – 63 ~ ?2 - √289
?2 - 17 ~ 0.35 × 980 - 216
2Solution ?2 ~ 343 - 216 + 17
18% of 1050 + 98 × 2 = ? ?2 ~ 144
189 + 196 = ? ?~ √144
385 = ? ? ~ 12
Hence, option b. Hence, option a.

3Solution 8Solution
√576 + 27441/3 + 6 × 18 = ? + 112 √(√4096.01 + 34.99 × 12.01) + (35.01 × 19.99) ÷ 25 = ?
24 + 14 + 108 = ? + 112 √(√4096 + 35 × 12) + (35 × 20) ÷ 25 ~ ?
34 = ? ? ~ √(64 + 420) + 700 ÷ 25 ~ ?
Hence, option a. ? ~ √484 + 28 ~ ?

Total number of bed sold on June = 175 + 450 = 625
35Solution
Number of SB sold on July = 450 – 175 – 125 = 150
Let number of SB sold on June be ‘x’
Number of DB sold on July = {950 – 4(175)} = 250
So, number of DB sold on August = (2 × x) = 2x
Total number of bed sold on July = 150 + 250 = 400
Number of bed sold on August = 475
Number of SB sold on August = {475 – (2×175)} = 125
So, number of SB sold on August = (475 – 2x)
Number of DB sold on August = 2 × 175 = 350
So, number of DB sold on July = {2 × (475 – 2x)}
Total number of bed sold on August = 125 + 350 = 475
ATQ;
Total number of DB sold = 450 + 250 +350 = 1050
(x + 950 – 4x) = 425
Total number of bed sold = 450 + 1050 = 1500

Month Number of singles bed (SB) sold Number of double bed (DB) sold Total number of bed sold

June 175 450 625

July 150 250 400

August 125 350 475

Total 450 1050 1500

ATQ; Let the sum invested be Rs. ‘S’.

‘x’ = 400 and ‘y’ = 125 ATQ;
So, required value = {(5 × 400) – (8 × 125)} = 1000 (2016 – S) = {(S × 8 × 18)/(12 × 100)}
Hence, option e. Or, 25 × (2016 – S) = 3S
36Solution Or, 50400 – 25S = 3S
Let the total work be 30 units. {LCM (10 and 15)} Or, 28S = 50400
So, efficiency of X = (30/10) = 3 units/day So, S = 1800
Efficiency of Y = (30/15) = 2 units/day So, Quantity I = Rs. 1,800
Quantity I: Quantity II:
Work done by X in 4 days = 3 × 4 = 12 units Let the marked price of the article be Rs. ‘7x’
Remaining work = 30 – 12 = 18 units So, selling price of the article = (5/7) × 7x = Rs. ‘5x’
Time taken by X and Y together to do the remaining ATQ;
work together = {18/(3 + 2)} = 3.6 days 7x – 950 = 5x
Work done by X in 3.6 days = 3.6 × 3 = 10.8 units Or, 2x = 950
Total work done by X = 10.8 + 12 = 22.8 units So, x = 475
So, share of X = {2400 × (22.8/30)} = Rs. 1,824 So, selling price of the article = 5 × 475 = Rs. 2,375
So, Quantity I = Rs. 1,824 And, cost price of the article = (2375 ÷ 1.25) = Rs. 1,900
Quantity II: So, Quantity II = Rs. 1,900
Work done by Y in 5 days = 2 × 5 = 10 units Therefore, Quantity II > Quantity I
Remaining work = 30 – 10 = 20 units Hence, option b.
Time taken by X and Y together to do the remaining 38Solution
work together = {20/(3 + 2)} = 4 days
Work done by Y in 4 days = 4 × 2 = 8 units
Total work done by Y = 10 + 18 = 18 units
So, share of Y = {2400 × (18/30)} = Rs. 1,440
So, Quantity II = Rs. 1,440
Therefore, Quantity I > Quantity II
Hence, option a.
37Solution
Quantity I:

number of blue nail cutter sold was highest for R. 45Solution
So, number of red nail cutter sold by R = 190. Probability of marking the right answer in each
Hence, option e. question = (1/4)
44Solution Probability of marking the wrong answer in each
Number of bangles manufactured by 15 friend question = (3/4)
working 8 hours a day in 25 days = 18000 × (25/40) = So, required probability = {(1/4) × (3/4) × (3/4) ×
11,250 (3/4)} × 4 = (27/64)
Remaining bangles to be manufactured = 18000 – Hence, option d.
11250 = 6750 bangles 46Solution
Let the efficiency of each friend be ‘E’ bangles/day Profit share of Vikash = 6300 – 3600 = Rs. 2,700
So, 15 × 8 × 40 × E = 18000 Ratio of profit shares of Divya and Vikash = (8 ×
Or, E = 3.75 4000):{(8 × x) + (4 × 2x)} = 32000:16x
Let number of days taken by 10 friends to make 6750 ATQ;
bangles be ‘d’ days (32000/16x) = (3600/2700)

47Solution Total cost price of all the saree = 15 × 18 = Rs. 270.

Let the speed of the vande matram train be ‘s’ m/s Total selling price of all the saree = {5 × (18 × 1.5) + 6
So, (160/s) = m × (18 × 0.8) + 4 × (18 × 0.9)} = 135 + 86.4 + 64.8
Or, (7160/m) = s……... (I) = Rs 286.2
ATQ; So, total profit earned = 286.2 – 270 = Rs. 16.2
(260/0.8s) = 26 Hence, option a.
Or, 12.5 = s ………. (II) 51Solution
So, (160/m) = 12.5 Let the two numbers be ‘a’ and ‘0.75a’.
Or, m = 12.8 We know that (a × b) = LCM of (a, b) × HCF of (a, b)
Hence, option e. So, a × 0.75a = 48 × 4
48Solution 0.75a2 = 192
ATQ; Or, a2 = 256
28320 = 24000 × {1 + (x/100)}1 So, a = 16
Or, 1.18 = {(100 + x)/100} So, required sum = {16 + (0.75 × 16)} = 28
Or, 118 = 100 + x Hence, option b.
So, x = 18 52Solution
Required interest = {(24000 × (18 + 6) × 1)/100} = Rs. Let the present ages of P and Q be ‘4x’ years and ‘5x’
5,760 years, respectively.
Hence, option c. So, average age of P and Q = {(4x + 5x)/2} = ‘4.5x’
49Solution years

Let the radius of the cylinder be ‘x’ cm ATQ;

So, height of the cylinder = ‘x + 16’ cm 4x + 10 = 0.84 × (5x + 10)

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh {Where ‘r’ is Or, 4x + 10 = 4.2x + 8.4
radius and ‘h’ is height} Or, 1.6 = 0.2x
So, 672π = 2π × x × (x + 16) So, x = 8
Or, 336 = x2 + 16x So, age of R = {(4.5 × 8) + 12} = 48
So, x2 + 16x – 336 = 0 Hence, option e.
Or, x + 28x – 12x – 336 = 0

Or, x(x – 12) + 28(x – 12) = 0 For company ‘A’:
Or, (x – 12)(x + 28) = 0 Total number of trucks in the inventory = 1200 × 28%
So, x = 12 or x = -28 = 336

Since, radius cannot be negative, we may discard x Number of shuttle trucks in the inventory = 136
= -28. Number of traveller trucks in the inventory = 336 – 136
So, height of the cylinder = 12 + 16 = 28 cm = 200

Hence, option d. Similarly,
