NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM OF SPG AND YES-O IN
PARTNERSHIP WITH CCF GROUP
In order to intensify health and nutrition among grade school children,
Aurora Elementary school as spearheaded with CCF group in running targeted supplementary feeding program for wasted and severely wasted children of this school. The project which was launched last December 14, 2022, aims at reduction of acute malnutrition among grade school children.
Mrs. Concepcion P. Abuan, a retired Master Teacher 2 and one of the
members of CCF group, threshed-out those who were severely wasted and wasted pupils from Grade I to Grade VI levels as their priority beneficiaries for the program. There are 133 recipients of the program. The SPG and YES-O officers who solicited an idea of school feeding program to CCF group, assisted the sponsoring group to distribute the foods to the pupils. According to Mr. Garcia, an estimation of 30pesos per head is the calculated budget for the feeding program. The meals are prepared by some teachers, some PTA officers, and organization group of the school, SPG and YES-). In addition, a glass of melon juice is provided for each recipient.
During feeding, health care practices such as hand washing and tooth brushing are also promoted.
