Compact GuardLogix 5370 controllers may not power up

Question

Question
Why is my Compact GuardLogix 5370 controller powering up with a solid red OK and
Safety OK LED.

Answer

Anomaly Description
The Compact GuardLogix 5370 controller(s) may experience an anomaly in which they may not power up. This
will result in the OK and Safety OK LED’s being solid red. When the controller is in this state no communications
can occur with the controller.

Attempts to rectify the anomaly by power cycling the controller, typically may not work and the controller will
continue to have the OK and Safety OK LED’s being solid red.

If the controller does finally power up properly the program will still be intact and no faults will be logged.

Workaround
Powering down the controller for an extended period of time may recover the controller, the powered down time
typically is 30 minutes or greater.

Resolution
To correct this anomaly the Compact GuardLogix 5370 controller must be sent back to Rockwell Automation for
repair.
