II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to
Identify the external factors influencing career choices.

career choices.
CAREER PATHWAYS
External influences are not fully separate from the internal influences exerted on an individual
because external factors can also shape one’s personal interests, values, and skills. Hence,
when it comes to choosing a career, a balance between one’s internal and external influences is
necessary.
3. Stay on Course
Once you have decided on the first set of goals, continue the process by
reviewing and updating your to-do list on a daily or weekly basis. You can also
schedule regular reviews using a computer-based diary. Learn how to be
adaptive and flexible in life.
4. Achieve Goals
When you have achieved a goal, take the time to enjoy the satisfaction of having
done so. If the goal is a significant one, reward yourself appropriately. This can
build your self-confidence.

of career’s path.
WRAP IT UP!
There are 4 categories of external factors that influence our career choice such as
expectations and need of the family, one’s life circumstances, spiritual and religious
