14-18: What would you do if you were Jennifer, and why?

If I was in the same situation as Jennifer, I put in a three-part rules and regulation. Well put in Rules and
Regulation, put in a policy about eating and drinking while at work. Make the Rules and Regulation easy
to follow which will make it easier for the Employees to follow, Next I will set up a policy that will allow
the Supervisor or CEO the right way to enforce the right boundaries to discipline the employees, and the
last thing I would do is to set some boundaries of what the penalty and how severity of the penalty if an
employee is caught doing something they aren’t supposed too.

14-19: Should a disciplinary system be established at Carter Cleaning Centers?

If there is no disciplinary action in the Carter Cleaning Center, then that means anything can go and it will
just a free-range zoo. So yes, I would put in some boundaries that the people need to follows. The
boundaries should be professional like and set with business practices with policies and guidelines

14-20: If so, what should it cover? How would you suggest it deal with a situation such as the one with
the errant counter people?

It’s should include rules and regulations, by creating a policy for the company it will allow a clear notice
of what the company expects of its employees and the managers of the Clark Cleaning. The Employees
need to know that the company has morals that will show the right behavior that will lead the company
to the right direction for a positive future in the work environment. If there is are continuing to be poor
behavior in the work place then the employee should first receive a verbal warning and should be posted
on the employees file, then it should be follow by a suspension without pay, but also stay positive and
not to raise anger during the altercation. It’s very important that the employee is conformed to what the
display action and why they are being punishment. I would put in the given written warning and a four-
strike system.

14-21: How would you deal with the store manager?

Managers are there for a reason, they just didn’t show up one day and automatically receive the
managers seat, they earned it. So, when it comes to disciplining the managers should also be done in a
professional manor. Since, managers could eat and drink on the job sight and would set a rules and
regulation that was previously discussed and set ground rules that needs to be followed while at work
during the Carter Cleaning Center, should make the managers ware of these policies. If they continue to
bypass the law then there should be the discipline the we discussed in the past question about what
needs to be created to settle the display action, by first a verbal warning needs to be submitted than
written in the file of the manager, then the five-strike warning needs to be given. Follow the bylaws and
the rules and regulations of the companies rule book. It’s important that the Carter Cleaning Company
needs to out a professional and take the business seriously
