PAST

PAST SIMPLE
Forma más común y se usa para acciones completadas en el pasado.

NOTA: En la forma negativa e interrogativa se usarán auxiliares TO BE y TO DO


y en oraciones con TO BE no habrá verbo.

ESTRUCTURAS:

+ Subject+verb in past+comp.

- Subject+TO BE in past (was/were)+not+ comp

- Subject+TO DO in past(did/didn´t)+verb inf+comp

? TO BE in past (was/were)+Subject+Complement

? TO DO in past(did/didn´t)+Subject+verb inf+comp

EXAMPLES
I jumped in the garden of my house.
I was not (wasn’t) in the garden of my house.
I didn’t (did not) jump in the garden of my house.
Was he in the garden of his house?
Did he jump in the garden of his house?

PAST CONTINUOUS
Para acciones que estaban pasando en el pasado. Se usará el auxiliar TO BE en
su forma del pasado—> was/were y el verbo en gerundio (ing)

También puede usarse para identi car que algo se estaba siendo y fue
interrumpido por otra acción(EJEMPLO 1.1) y también para un tiempo en
especí co del pasado(EX 1.2)

-Subject+TO BE in past+not+verb in gerund+comp.

? TO BE in past+Subject+verb in gerund+comp?

I was talking with my friends.


You weren’t talking with your friends.
Was I talking with my friends?

PAST PERFECT
Se utilizará el auxiliar TO HAVE en su forma del pasado (had/hadn’t) y el verbo
conjugado en participio pasado. Se usa para hablar de acciones del pasado que
ocurrieron antes del pasado reciente (EX 2.1), o que pasaron antes de un tiempo
especí co (EX 2.2) y será un uso equivalente al presente perfecto (EX 2.3)

ESTRUCTURAS:

+Subject+TO HAVE in past+verb past participle+comp.

-Subject+TO HAVE in past+not+verb past participle+comp.

? TO HAVE in past+Subject+verb past participle+comp?

EXAMPLES:
I had studied English for many years.
She hadn’t studied English before.
Had she studied English before?
EX 2.1: I had just learned English when I went to the school
