What is corruption?

IS THE MISUSE OF PUBLIC POWER AND RESOURCES FOR
PRIVATE GAIN
EXAMPLES OF PUBLIC RESOURCES

MONEY ,GOODS ,VEHICLES , BUILDINGS,PENSIONFUNDS


,MEDICAL AID FUNDS ETC
TYPES OF CORRUPTION
• There are two major types of corruption:
• 1.Petty corruption
• 2.Grand corruption
• Petty corruption:
• Means the corruption which is done on the small
scale or on the low level
• Grand corruption:
• Means corruption which is done in big scale or in
the high level
• Grand corruption is further categorized as
• 1.Political corruption :
• To win the election ,some political leaders try to lure the voters by
offering them wine wealth and others types of direct or indirect benefits.


• 2.Administrative corruption :
• When officers like IAS & IPS,clerks,peons,etc…are involved
its called administrative corruption
• Professional corruption :
• It includes the duplicating things ,mixture in eatable things and in
petrol etc …..
CAUSES OF CORRUPTION:

❖ Lack of effective leadership(not listening to the concerns ,creating an intimidating


work,passive aggressive communication)
❖ Lack of public support(level of public sector wages,penalty systems,institutional
controls,transparency of rules,laws,And process)
❖ Donation in the educational institutions(bribes being paid for admission or good
grades
❖ Lack of autonomy(if employes are not given authority to make decisions related to
their work)
❖ Lack of effective management(higher authorities in organization not performing
well like bad manager behaviour can be a personality issue or Effect of hiring people
who lack the interpersonal skills to be a managers in the first place)
CONSEQUENCES OF CORRUPTION:

• Loss of national wealth


• Poverty
• Rise in terrorism and crimes
• Psychological and disorders
• Authority and power in wrong hands
Cures for corruption:

❖Strong legislation
❖Social organization
❖Effective leadership and administration
❖Value education

• RTI IS AN ACT OF PARLIAMENT OF INDIA
• IMPORTANT PROVISIONS OF RTI ACT 2005:
❖ASK ANY QUESTION FROM THE GOVT OR SEEK ANY INFORMATION
❖TAKE COPIES OF GOVT DOCUMENTS
❖INSPECT ANY GOVT DOCUMENTS OR WORKS
❖TAKE SAMPLES OF MATERIALS OF ANY GOVT WORK
Conclusion:

 For the development of country we have to eliminate the corruption.this only possible
when people are educated and honest
 Corruption is not an individual problem,its an nations problems
