Impacts on the United States of America:

Everyone can agree that globalization has some positive impacts on the US. These

impacts can include economic growth, better or more access to technology,

cheaper exports, etc. One of the biggest impacts is economic growth. Globalization

opened many different business markets that allowed Americans to increase and

expand their consumer amount globally. This impact gave us access to larger

markets which leads to higher revenue and more job creations.

Though it has its positive impacts it has its downfalls in the eyes of consumers and

producers. TNC’s (Transnational Corporations) can be seen as the biggest negative

impact of globalization in the US. Some of them, not all, take advantage of

developing or weak countries. They pollute industries and exploit labor laws.

Using globalization TNC’s take advantage of the separate set of laws and different

standards of religious ethics, where a lot of things that are not allowed in the US

could be allowed in another country across the world. Other important impacts are

the loss of culture, culture appropriation and language shifts. The US and other

countries have all done some level of cultural appropriation of another country.

Impacts of Globalization on my Neighborhood:

The positive impacts globalization has on things like community empowerment,

innovative/entrepreneur opportunities, cultural exchange & diversity, etc.

Globalization gives neighborhoods a change to exchange culture through the

people who live and come through there. A lot of misunderstanding between

cultures is one not understanding the other culture. Globalization also gives people

a chance to connect to a wide variety of entrepreneurs and resources that could

potentially give them more opportunities that could push forth their entrepreneurial

advances, whatever those advances might be.

Neighborhoods connection with globalization can affect crime rate in the

neighborhood and things like the property value of the house and/or apartments.

Back in the day, many neighborhoods did not have much diversity, which could

have caused a lot of friction between races. Globalization also can affect local

businesses as they cannot compete with billion-dollar corporations which causes

the local businesses to have to shut down which results in job losses, and it takes

away the unique attributes to the neighborhood.
