If globalization is truly beneficial to all people across the world, why is it that many
countries are poor and still living in poverty? Find 5 news clippings showing rich people
enjoying their comfortable life and poor living misery.

Unfortunately, globalization does not necessarily benefit everyone. As the markets

become more globalized, corporations can achieve economies of scale and thus make
their goods cost less than their smaller competitors. The initial cost of a product from one
manufacturing country will appear quite high in other marketplaces which are usually
much poorer than the other country. Therefore, as the small companies make cutbacks in
their operations in order to compete against bigger competitors due to low prices on
supply chains, economies of scale begin to make them slowly disappear.

Globalization has drastically changed the world starting from its ideas, perspectives, and
systems. It gave the world a breakthrough and opened a lot of opportunities, benefits, and
advantages, making life easier with technology wrapped around it. However,
globalization is not beneficial for every single person.

There are few things that make globalization in favor of rich people but makes poor
people from some countries remain living in poverty. First thing is there are no equal
opportunities for rich and poor people (Reuben, A. 2015). Heinze (2020) stated that the
rich always have more opportunities and benefits than the poor, whether it be a job or an
education. People work hard, but if there are only a few possibilities accessible to them,
they will not be able to lift themselves out of poverty. Moreover, the effects of
globalization afflict the poor more than the privileged. According to Cinch, M (2017),
Those who live in poverty lack information and powerful connections, but those who live
comfortably can ensure that even if there are potential consequences, they will not suffer
a significant loss. While globalization improves many things, like technology,
communication, and commerce, it does not emphasize on some of the most important
concerns, such as poverty and hunger. This makes the people still live and suffer from
poverty while there are some that live with lots of comfort and do not worry about what
might happen tomorrow. For example, an NBC news report in March 2020 stated that
India has limited the movement of its 1.3 billion citizens because to concerns that
COVID-19 may spread in highly populated cities with wide income inequalities.
Lockdowns are being encouraged as a strategy to help prevent the coronavirus, but
experts say that this will be difficult to do in underdeveloped nations where the virus
might spread quickly. Dr. Angela Chaudhuri, director of the nonprofit Swasti Health
Catalyst that works in India's slums and rural impoverished areas stated that it is a disease
that makes difference seem more visible than any other and advised us that we must wash
our hands with soap and water or sanitizer and keep at a distance – none of this are
accessible in the slum area. Also, it emphasized that rising inequality, largely caused by
the pandemic, will likely make more struggles and discontent, complicating nations'
approaches to climate change, economic imbalances, and social tensions.

It is true that globalization is beneficial in many ways for many people, but not for
everyone. It is a great challenge for the world to provide equal opportunities and give
more focus to what needs more improvement. Afterall, success can only be determined if
all areas are improved, including the poor spots of the world.

2. Observe our community and identify various changes that brought by globalization
throughout the years. What are those changes? What are its implication on culture, way of
life, and religion?

Globalization is linked to massive and rapid-fire mortal metamorphosis. The transfer of people
from pastoral to civic regions has quickened, and the rise of metropolises in developing countries
is connected to numerous people living in shy conditions. Family disharmony, as well as societal
and domestic violence, are on the rise. Globalization of culture promotes the sharing of artistic
values and the blending of traditions from numerous countries. Cultural globalization was
defined by the confluence of commercial and consumer societies across countries and the
expansion of worldwide communication. In short, globalization has made it possible for formerly
insulated persuasions to have regular and necessary contact. As a result of this, globalization
shows that, because faiths partake analogous principles, none of them is" right" and it can be
changed.
The transformation of established persuasions and belief systems; the morning of the collapse of
traditional social fabrics and participated norms by consumerism, cyber-culture, new
persuasions, and shifting work ethics and work measures are all crucial factors brought by
globalization. There’s a lot of fields of globalization that have brought changes throughout the
times. In our community, there are establishments, job openings, and employment are adding. It
promotes culture as the relationship with different borders interact with each other. And
incipiently it improves our way of life in a way that globalization affects colorful areas like
products and services. Ever it affects everything, like the issues about the oil painting price hike.
As the time passes by and the issues between other countries are still there, the other countries
will also be affected, like motorists and passengers then in our country, in specific.

3. Does globalization affect your morality? If yes, in what sense does it affect your morality,
if not, what are the ways to cover your morality over the influences of globalization?

Globalization is the process of increasing interconnectedness and interdependence

between countries. It has been in existence since the beginning of time, but with the
advent of technology, globalization has been a much more prominent force in our world
today.

The effects of globalization on morality can be seen in two ways: (1) through the
economic effects and (2) through cultural effects.

First, globalization has had a significant effect on economics. The economies of most
countries have become more integrated with each other as they continue to trade goods,
services and ideas across borders. This means that many different aspects of life are now
globalized—from food to music to clothing and even ideas about how things should
work.

As these aspects become globalized, people tend to view them differently than they did
before. For example, when it comes to food, we may have grown up eating our favorite
foods from our own country—but if you ask someone from another country about where
they like to eat or what type of food is popular there, they might say something different
than what you expected! This change means that morals and values are also changing as
well—and not always for the better!

Second, globalization has had an impact on culture itself because it allows cultures
around the world to interact. Globalization allows people from different cultures to live
together in proximity, which means that they have more opportunities to interact with
each other than ever before. This leads to increased tolerance for people who are different
from themselves and therefore makes them more likely to accept others' differences as
well. The cultural effects of globalization include greater access to information from
other cultures and countries which can lead to more diverse viewpoints on issues such as
religion or politics. It also includes greater mobility between countries which allows
individuals to travel to different countries without having to spend long periods away
from their families or homes.

Problems and Solutions:

4.) In your observation of our present economy, identify five (5) ethical problems and
formulate solutions on how to solve those problems. You may find news clippings and
reliable online sources to support your answer.

 In the Philippine context at least, inflation continues to be appeared as a clean and

gift chance to macroeconomic stability. Aside from the pandemic, Filipinos were
struggling with the growing inflation price within the country. According to the
Philippine Statistics Authority, from 2.1% in May 2020, the inflation price rose
up at 4.5% in May 2021, which indicates a growth of greater than 100%.

 An increase within the rate of inflation would mean you’ll have to be

compelled to pay a lot for constant merchandise that you simply won’t
purchase at a lower cost. For some, this could mean a lower customary of
living and belongings go of luxuries to afford basic goods. it'll additionally
influence people with constant profits inclusive of retirees who depend
upon pension benefits. The normal pension they obtain can also
additionally not be enough to maintain their normal manner of living,
thinking about the growth withinside the value of simple goods,
medications, and utilities.

 Corruption is one of the main concerns of investors wanting to do business in the

Philippines. The country's ranking on Transparency International's Corruption
Perception Index is 117 out of 174 countries. Beyond corruption, the country
faces issues of poor law enforcement, environmental degradation, and excessive
concentrations of wealth that hinder policy advances.

 However, there are encouraging developments: a strengthening of US-

Philippine relations is seen by many as a positive development for the
region; furthermore, the country benefits from citizens working abroad
whose remittances represent an opportunity to improve economic
conditions; and policies now encourage closer business involvement
through public-private partnerships.
 Labor issues within the Philippines, unemployment and underemployment are the
Philippines’ maximum essential troubles and the important thing signs of the
weaknesses of the economy. Today, round four million workers (approximately
12% of the exertions force) are unemployed and any other five million (round
17% of these employed) are underemployed.
 One of the best practices in addressing this issue is wage subsidies. This
has confirmed to be the single only device for saving jobs. It does this
with the aid of using retaining employees connected to their employers at
some stage in durations of lockdown and sluggish healing in enterprise
activities. Another one is unemployment coverage; The Philippines’
unemployment coverage scheme gives restricted coverage. Adequate
unemployment coverage gives people with profits balance and enables
them transition to new jobs. A properly instance is Malaysia’s program,
which makes use of a country wide pooled coverage fund wherein each
employers and personnel make month-to-month contributions.

 Widespread environmental destruction due to pollution and climate change

caused by human activity especially from fossil fuels.
Long-term changes in temperatures and weather patterns are referred to as climate
change. These modifications could be a result of the solar cycle's variability, for
example.

Famous nations like the United States, China, and Russia have been huge polluters due
to their use of fossil fuels. To regulate and control the global warming we are currently
experiencing, some of them made promises that they would scale back and eventually
quit using greenhouses.

This solution would also prefer these:

At every stage of production, from the extraction of raw materials to the fabrication and
delivery of commodities to market, proper waste disposal, recycling, and repair of the
gadgets, clothing, and other items we purchase produce carbon emissions. To safeguard
our climate, buy fewer goods, shop second-hand, repair what you can, and recycle.
Walk, bike, or use public transportation to conserve energy at home. Consume more
vegetables. Think about your travel. Change the energy source in your house. Use an
electric vehicle instead.

 "Adapting to climate consequences protects people, homes, businesses, livelihoods,

infrastructure, and natural ecosystems. It covers current impacts and those likely in
the future. Adaptation will be required everywhere but must be prioritized now for
the most vulnerable people with the fewest resources to cope with climate hazards.
The rate of return can be high. Early warning systems for disasters, for instance, save
lives and property and can deliver benefits up to 10 times the initial cost."
