Greetings from the Sishu Griha family!

Sishu Griha Senior School, Bengaluru, is organizing the fourth edition of the online Sishu Griha
Parliamentary Debate (SGPD) 2023 on Saturday, 24th and Sunday, 25th June, 2023.

We would like to extend our earnest invitation to your esteemed institution to participate in this event.
This competition is aimed at attracting superlative and fervent debaters from across the globe, both pan-
India and international. Your participation in this competition would give us immense pleasure.

Our firm belief is that a spirited debate between two schools would be an excellent opportunity to
educate students on the many different perspectives available and to foster constructive dialogue. Sishu
Griha Parliamentary Debate (SGPD) furnishes unique feasibility for participants to gain wide-ranging,
multi-dimensional knowledge in several disciplines beyond academics. Furthermore, it improves
rigorous, higher-order and critical thinking skills; enhances the ability to structure and organize thoughts
and develops many such innumerable skills. In addition, the students would benefit from valuable
feedback from highly experienced trainers and adjudicators.

The mounting success of SGPD, over the years, has propelled us to make this an annual event. The two -
day tournament is open to students from Grades 8 to 12 and will follow the Asian Parliamentary Debate
format. Parliamentary debate is extemporized debating on a wide range of topics, from politics and
economics to art and culture that change from debate to debate. This contest would be judged by some
of the thoroughly competent adjudicators from the national and international debating arena.

SGPD will be held on an online platform called Discord Platform, developed especially for debating.
Participants will need a Facebook and Instagram account to use the same, although a parent’s / sibling’s
account may be used if the Organizing Committee is informed in advance. Should any need arise, kindly
feel free to contact our Organizing Committee for assistance.
Please note that there is no registration fee for the tournament. Each institution can register multiple
teams of three members. We do, however, have limited openings so allocations will be made on a first-
come, first-served basis.

We also allow students to register for the tournament with teammates from different schools. If you
wish to register a team in which participants belong to different schools, please select the ‘Cross-school’
team option on the Registration Form.
