Chapter One Overview

1.1 Overview
This Manual outlines the links such as basic installation, operation and use of automatic
focusing laser cutting head, and only introduces the main components.
Before using, the operator have to carefully read the Manual, in order to understand the safety
measures and requirements of laser cutting head, and comply with relevant safety precautions.

1.2 Safety Standards Relating to the Machine

Laser processing equipment and its operation shall accord with two national standards, i.e.
GB7247.1-2001 l Safety of Laser Products-- Equipment Classification, Requirements and Users
Guide and GB/T10320-2011 Electrical Safety of Laser Equipment and Installations.

1.3 Warnings of Safety Management

1) Designate safety management personnel, determine the scope of their duties, and educate the operator in

terms of safe operation and safety protection.

2) The operator of laser cutting head has to be specially trained to reach a certain level, and the operator can

only operate laser cutting head on the premise of the consent of the security administrator.

1.4 Laser Safety Notice

In laser processing, any exposure to direct beam or scattered beam may cause a burn to body parts. Observing

fiber laser for a long time may cause serious damage to the retina! All the operators must wear fiber laser

protective glasses in strict accordance with national standards! The operators are forbidden to observe laser or

operate the machine without wearing protective glasses! Avoid placing any body part in the range of laser cutting

in order to protect against harm caused by misoperation.

3.2.3 Focusing Protective Window Cartridge

Focusing protective lenses are mounted in the drawer-type way, easy to replace, and fixed under
focusing components with screws. Protective glasses are designed to be able to bear high-pressure
shock from gas.

3.2.4 Water Circulation

Both collimating unit and focus lens have the function of cooling water circulation to ensure
that collimating lens does not generate heat and QBH does not alarm. Cooling focus lens can
increase the service life of the lens, and the lens are not damaged due to overheating. The standards
of circulating water are shown below (Table 1).
Min. flow rate 1.8L/min(0.48gpm)
Inlet pressure 170-520kpa(30-60psi)
Inlet temperature ≥Room temperature /

3.2.5 Collimating Unit

Collimating unit is mounted in the laser cutting head, including collimating lens set, horizontal
adjusting system and cooling water system for reducing lens temperature.
Horizontal adjusting device: The device can be adjusted by the built-in optical center adjusting
device. adjust two screws in front of collimating components with a hex wrench to adjust optical
center.
3.2.6 Focusing Unit
Focusing components are mounted in the laser cutting head, including focusing lens set,
focusing mirror cavity and cooling water system for reducing lens temperature. The electric motor is
used for focusing. In this case, the efficiency of perforation increased significantly..
Focusing unit is able to be equipped with different focus lens according to lasers with different

power so as to realize that one machine can match multiple lenses.

3.2.7 Ceramic Ring and Nozzle
Nozzle and ceramic components are precisely manufactured, which ensure center superposition
of the nozzle and ceramic ring when replacing the nozzle, reducing adjustment or even avoiding
adjustment. In addition, they can cooperate with sensors so as to collect capacitance signal and
adjust different plates.
3.2.8 Sensor Insert
Sensor insert is mounted beside the focusing components of laser cutting head, screws and
mounting base on the laser cutting head are used for its connection. The sensor provides capacitance
signal for the height sensing system;

3.3 Introduction to the Main System Functions

3.3.1 Distance Sensing System
In order to ensure the distance between the cutting head and metal plate while cutting, the laser
cutting head is equipped with the interface of capacitive distance sensing system, which can provide
the function of capacitance signal ion. With the sensing system, the distance between the nozzle and
workpiece can be kept in order to ensure the focusing position.
3.3.2Collision Protection
When the nozzle or sensor knock against the machine or plate, due to the distance sensing
system, the laser cutting head can feed back collision-related electronic signals to the system, thus
stopping action.
3.3.3Cutting Gas
There is an air connector on the laser cutting head, and the laser cutting head can work under
the cutting gas pressure of 25Bar (2.5Mpa). At the same time, cutting gas also has the function of
cooling protective glasses.
Impurities in auxiliary gas such as hydrocarbon gas and water vapor may cause damage to the
lens, cutting power fluctuations and also cause inconsistency of the workpiece between front and
rear surface at the same time. The table below shows the recommended standards of auxiliary gas
(Table 2).
