Shadia Elshishini is currently acting as Freelance Environmental Consultant for Industrial projects. For
the last ten years sha acted as Industry Expert for the Egyptian Pollution Abatement Project (EPAP)
and the Ministry of Environment (MoE) in issues related to Industrial pollution abatement and cleaner
production, auditing, compliance and environmental impact assessment as well as policies and
regulations. She has 38 years of professional experience in Egypt including 9 years in Saudi Arabia as
a Prof. of Chemical Engineering. She has wide experience in 15 industrial sectors including cement,
fertilizer, metallurgical and petrochemical industries and has been involved in the preparation, assess-
ment, audit, procurement, implementation and monitoring ofpollution abatement projects including 120
sub-projects in PPSI, EPAP II and KfW PSI II, 14 industrial audits for JICAREMIP and USAID EEPP
plus pre-screening of 17 factories in KfW PSI I. She also led initiatives to target SMEs in PPSI (56 sub-
projects), 20 SME energy efficiency audits for IFC and identification ofcleaner production opportunities
in SME food sector for the Federation of Egyptian Industries
 As Operational Manager of Public Private Sector Industries (PPSI) project (2008-2014) funded
by KfW (EUR 16.4 million) she reviewed technical feasibility and compliance action plans for
106 sub-projects, advised on the cost-effectiveness of the proposed solutions, followed up
projects implementation, reviewed conformity of procurement process with international
standards.
 As advisor to MoE assessed and reviewed a large number of projects regarding green
industries, Energy mix, shale oil, power plants, waste recycling.
 As technical advisor to EEAA provided support to the main departments regarding EIA review,
Compliance Action Plan assessment, Inspection and Environmental Quality.
 As Policy Expert developed policies for both Ministry of Environment (MoE) and Ministry of
Trade and Industry (MTI) Sustainable Resource Conservation, Waste Exchange, Scaling up of
Cleaner Production, Industrial Waste management, New EIA system, New Coal Regulations,
update Emission Limit Values (ELV).
 As Industry Expert with extensive experience in process design provided support for
implementation of Best Available Techniques, estimation of releases, dispersion modeling,
process modification to achieve compliance, material and energy balance, developing technical
feasibility studies.
 As Professor of Chemical Engineering, provides high quality training to EEAA staff, government
officials, industry professionals and service providers.
 Skilled project manager with excellent interpersonal relationship and a large web of contacts in
various fields.
