1. Representational Art - Valencian Fishermen is a simple picture that  Joaquin Sorolla. Two men are
shown in this painting using fishing gear while waiting at the sea's side.

2. Expressive Theory – The Scream by Edward Munch. It represents the depressing troubling
moments Munch was going through as he fought with trauma and mental illness.

3. Formalist Theory - Two Musicians by Joseph Catanzaro. It combines his love of music, cartoons,
comic books, and play with Pablo Picasso’s visual language of Cubism. Guitarists, blues, and jazz
are his favorite themes.

4. Aestheticism - La Ghirlandata by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. La Ghirlandata meaning "The

Garlanded Lady" is generally understood to be the "embodiment of love and beauty.
5. Institutional Theory - The Tribuna of the Uffizi by Johann Joseph Zoffany. The Tribuna was the
first nucleus of the Uffizi Gallery: it is a space conceived and realized to display to the public
artworks considered the most precious of the Medici collection.
