1. What is Family Home?


Family home is place where a family resides which is considered as their primary
residence. Family home typically refers to the physical space where a family lives
and functions as a unit once a place is occupied as family residence. The members
of the family who benefit from the protection of the family home include the
spouses, their children, and other relatives or household members who reside in the
family home. It also includes children born within the marriage or even legally
adopted by the spouses.

2. Differentiate the Alarmist and Reasuring Views about the family from the
democratic view.
The alarmist view tends to focus on the negative aspects of family life where the
family is in a state of crisis emphasizing problems such as divorce rates, child
abuse, domestic violence, and other challenges that families face. This view
emphasizes family as a source of social problems.
On the other hand, the reassuring view of the family emphasizes the positive
aspects of family life, such as the emotional support and care that family members
provide to one another. Here in reassuring view, it can be seen that the family is a
source of social strength, resilience and adaptability of the family. This perspective
demonstrates that families can adapt to changing social and economic conditions,
and that diverse family forms can be just as effective as traditional families.

3. What is the effect of having good parenting skills on the child/children?


Good parenting skills have a significant positive impact on a child especially in its
development. These includes improved mental and emotional health, better social
skills, improved academic performance and good behavior. Good parenting skills
can help children develop positive self-esteem, self-confidence and are less likely
to experience anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues. They may also
have a better social skills and positive relationships with others. Additionally, they
are more likely to have a better attitude.

4. How do we consider that a family is a broken home?


We can consider that a family is a broken home wherein family structure in which
the parents are separated, divorced, or no longer living together. The
irresponsibility of the parents has a great impact on the child. When parents
separate or divorce, children may experience a range of emotions, including
sadness, anger, confusion, and anxiety. They may also struggle with changes to
their behavior, lifestyle, and relationships with both parents.

5. Is there an effect on the child/children when their parents got separated?


Yes, the separation of parents has a great effect on children’s development.
Children may experience a range of emotions and it may potentially lead to
emotional distress, behavioral problems, health issues, and relationship difficulties
of the children. Children may also struggle with academic performance, social
relationships, and may struggle with self-esteem and self-confidence.
