GARUDA PANCASILA AND BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA

Garuda Pancasila is the symbol of our country. The nation’s aspiration is the represented
in our country’s symbol. The sublime ideal of the nation is the lawful and prosperous community
based on Pancasila and 1945 constitution. Pancasila shaped of a powerful eagle which is
stretching its wings. The number of the wing fathers is 17 pieces each. This symbolizes the date
of our country independence. The number of the feathers at the tail is 8. It tells us the month of
our freedom. The neck’s feather is 45 which tells us the date, the month, and the year of our
independence, that is August 17, 1945.
Pay attention to our country’s symbol. There is a shield on the neck of the eagle. The
shield is called pancasila shield. There are five symbols on the shield. The star represents the
divinity. The people of Indonesia is a religious nation. All people believe in the power of God.
The chains symbolize the worthiness of human being. The banyan tree represents the union of
Indonesia. The bull’s head is a symbol’ of democracy. Rice and cotton plant represent social
The eagle’s expanded feed; seize a piece of stretched ribbon. Bhineka Tunggal Ika is
written on the ribbon. That is our motto. The slogan was taken from a book named Sutasoma.
The motto means even different, but it’s only one. There are hundreds of tribes, dialects, arts and
culture in Indonesia. They unify in diversity, but they are one, that is Indonesia.
