Description:
For architecture students, design is a secondary language. And what greater art
contest should there be other than the one closest to their hearts? OASIS STORY is an
Esquisse Design Competition that tests the student’s ability on translating stories through
forms of architecture by designing innovative holistic spaces in the middle of our busy and
unpleasant environment.

Objectives:
● To explore the skills of architecture students in creative new innovative design for a
healthier well-being and lifestyle from the traditional Bahay Kubo.
● To pave the way for architecture students to learn about innovative design.
● To provide an opportunity for a platform of collaborative work from LPU-C
Architecture students.
● To showcase and train their artistic and technical abilities.

Full Mechanics:
Registration:
● Participants must be bona fide UAPSA members of LPU Cavite in the
current academic year.
● Participants may join the competition as a team with 2-3 members.
● A team can be composed of members from different sections and year
level/s.
● Students must register through Google Forms.
Design Brief:
● In the middle of a crisis, the feeling of uncertainty inevitably increases our
sense of stress and anxiety. The challenge is to reimagine the traditional
Bahay Kubo that encourages wellness and promotes the well-being of
individuals. There is no limit on designing for its function and target users as
long as it influences better well-being.
Design Parameters:
● The design must be flexible and adaptable to fit into any existing site. 
● A maximum of 40 sqm of floor area shall be accomplished.
● A space for the new normal must be considered.
● The materials for the design must be available locally.
● The kubo must transform into a sustainable and healthy space through their
innovative design and architectural solutions.
General Guidelines:
● Registrants will be free to use the method of their choice such as freehand
drawing, manual drafting, digital modeling, etc.
● The competition will go on for a total of 60 hours, and entries must be
submitted before the set deadline.
● An entry should consist of presentation board/s to be submitted digitally and a
pre-recorded video explaining their work (min. 5 mins)
● The required outputs consist of the following:
1. Design Concept
2. Floor plans
3. Exterior and Interior Perspective
4. Any additional drawings to support design concept
● Required outputs should be done on an A3 paper, manual or digital; and in
any medium.
● Any name or indicators of the participants’ identity is prohibited.
● Filename must be OASISSTORY_TEAM NAME
(ex.OASISSTORY_UAPSATEAM).
● The submission of entries should be in PNG format only, and uploaded
through google forms.
● Only those who passed the preliminary rounds will proceed to the on-site
Presentation and Final Judging on October 24, 2022.
Final Judging:
● Chosen Top 5 entries will be judged by the guest panelists, which will be held
at the Audio-Visual Theater on October 24.
● Those who passed the preliminary rounds will be required to prepare a
hardcopy of their entries on the day of the Presentation and Final Judging.
 Awarding:
● The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
Innovativeness 40%
Relevance to the Theme: 20%
Overall Design 30%
Visual Techniques __10%__
