 1. Instructions for
Unpacking the Yantra

Linga Bhairavi Yantra

• The top of the box will bear your name tag.

• You will need a no. 8/9 spanner or an

adjustable spanner (wrench) and a flat-edged
screwdriver.

• Use the spanner or screwdriver to unscrew

the four bolts on the top.

• Remove the top using the flat edge of the

screwdriver.

• Remove the foam layer.

• Carefully remove the Linga box and keep

it aside.

• Two men can lift the Yantra by holding the

ends of the Yantra cloth.

 • Place the Yantra in the space you have
created. Please be aware that the front of
the Yantra is identified by the carving on the
granite. Another way to identify the front of
the Yantra is by the two white vibhuti lines.
Additionally, the point of the triangle on the
copper portion should be pointing towards
you when you stand in front of the Yantra.
• After the Yantra has been placed, pull out the
red cloth used to move it from underneath
and keep it for future use.
• Using the flat edge of the screwdriver, open
the Linga box.
• Carefully remove the Linga using a clean
cotton cloth and gently place it in the Linga
holder of the Yantra. The Linga should be
facing the front of the Yantra.
• The sutra is tied so that there are two
diagonal lines running across the Yantra. The
intersection of these diagonal lines should be
in front of the Linga.

• Even if you do not foresee moving elsewhere,
please keep the box and packing materials
for future use.
• When moving the Yantra, please ensure to
remove the Linga first and pack it separately.
• If transporting the Yantra through a third
party, please send it as a fragile item.

Linga Bhairavi Avighna Yantra
• The top of the box will bear your name tag.
• Four men will be needed to carry the Yantra.
To carry the Yantra box into your home, you
can use the rings on the box and two long
wooden rods.
• You will need a no. 8/9 and a no. 14/15
spanner or you can use an adjustable spanner
 (wrench) and a flat-edged screwdriver.
• Use the large spanner or electric screwdriver
to remove the four screws on top of the rings.
• Use the small spanner or electric screwdriver
to remove the four screws on the corners of
the box.
• Remove the top of the box. You can use the
flat edge of the screwdriver to do so.
• Remove the foam layer.
• Carefully take out the Linga box. The box will
have your nametag. Keep it aside.
• Remove the two brass buffalo heads, which
will be wrapped, and keep them aside.
• Remove the cloth covering the Yantra. Four
men can lift the Yantra by holding the four

ends of the two cloths.
• Place the Yantra in the space you have
created. Please be aware that the front of
the Yantra is identified by the carving on

 2. Setting Up the Yantra Room
Choosing a Space
• Before unpacking the Yantra, decide where
to place it. Do not move the Yantra unless
shifting to a new home or office.
• It is best to keep the Yantra in a separate
room. It is very conducive to do one’s
practices in the room as well. If there are
space constraints, the Yantra can be kept in
the living space or bedroom, provided there
is no eating, drinking or sleeping within 10
feet of the Yantra.
• If one cannot meet these conditions, the
Yantra can be kept in an enclosure. The
enclosure can be made of wood or metal.
No synthetic materials should be used. You
may also partition the room with a curtain
or a portable screen. It is beneficial to keep
the enclosure or curtain open for a few
hours daily, especially when doing sadhana.
It should be closed while eating, drinking or

sleeping within 10 feet of the Yantra.
• The door to the Yantra room can be kept
open. However, if you have small children
or pets, or if there is any risk of someone
touching the Yantra, you should keep the
door closed.
Sanctity of the Space
• It is important to keep the space clean and
maintain the sanctity of the Devi Yantra
space. The Yantra can also be placed with
the Linga Bhairavi Gudi, Sadhguru Sannidhi,
Dhyanalinga Yantra or any deities you may
have.
• Shoes should always be removed before
entering the Yantra room. If the Yantra
must be kept in a space where shoes will
be worn, such as an office, then the Yantra
should be raised off the floor. Please use a
platform or an enclosure in such situations.

 Direction and Sunlight
You can place the Yantra in any direction.
While placing the Yantra, make sure that
direct sunlight does not fall upon it.
Placing the Yantra
The Yantra can be kept on the floor, but a
cloth or carpet should be placed underneath.
Alternatively, the Yantra can be kept on a
table or platform. Keeping the Yantra at a
1 to 1.5 foot height will allow most people
to sit comfortably for the daily process. If
you cannot sit comfortably on the floor
to do the daily process, you can keep the
Yantra on a table and sit on a chair to do the
process. If needed, you can even stand to
do the process.
• The lamp can be placed anywhere near
the Yantra. To avoid oil spills, it is best to
keep the lamp near the Yantra, not on top
of the Yantra.
• If you choose to keep the lamp on the
Yantra, you can keep it on one of the back
corners, on the granite portion. In either
case, it is best to keep a brass or copper
plate underneath to reduce oil spillage.
• The lamp should be lit using ghee (clarified
butter) or sesame (gingelly) oil. It should
be lit during the daily process. At all other
times, lighting the lamp is optional.

or brass, dedicated specifically to the Yantra.
It should not be used for any other purpose.
If you also have the Sadhguru Sannidhi, a
separate lamp should be used.

 3. Maintaining the Yantra
The Daily Process
When you received the Yantra, Sadhguru
initiated you into a process that connected
you with the Yantra. It is essential that
you do the daily process to maintain your
connection with Devi, unless you are away.
Preparing for the Daily Process
• It is beneficial to have a bath or shower
before you sit for the process.
• You may do the process at any time of
the day or night. Your spouse or business
partner can also do the process at any
time of the day or night. It need not be
immediately before or after you.
• You are required to do the process once per
day. If you wish, you may do it twice.
• If you wish to do it twice, there is no
required gap of time in between processes.
You need not be on an empty stomach
to do the process. However, it’s best you
maintain a light stomach condition.

• If you eat non-vegetarian food, leave
a 4-hour gap between a meal and the
process.
• If you smoke, leave a 1.5-hour gap before
doing the process.
• If you consume alcohol, leave an 8-hour gap
before the process.
Steps for the Daily Process
• Light the lamp.
• Play the 11-minute Lum Vum chant. Place
both hands on the copper part of the
Yantra, palms facing down, so that your
entire palms are in contact with the copper
portion of the Yantra (it is okay if you touch
the sutra).
• Your eyes should be closed. There is no
need to chant. Simply be with the process.

• After the 11 minutes, once the chant is over,
remove your hands from the Yantra.
• It is beneficial to spend at least 20 minutes
in the Yantra room every day. After the
11-minute process, you may sit with palms
facing upwards while playing the Linga
Bhairavi Stuti. It is best if you chant the Stuti
along with the audio.
Offerings
• Every Purnima (full moon day), a coconut or
ripe lemon should be offered to Devi. The
offering should be cut or broken in front of

the Yantra and placed somewhere near the
Yantra, but not on it.
• If one wishes, this offering can also be done
on Amavasya (new moon day). This will
especially benefit those experiencing a sense
of fear, loss or grief.
• Additionally, you can make this or any other
offering you wish to Devi on any day of the
month. Some traditional offerings include
sweets, flowers, deepam, betel leaves, betel
nuts, rice and sesame seeds.
 • If you wish to offer any flowers to the
Yantra, you can place a single flower on the
front right corner of the Yantra (Devi’s left
side). Place it on the granite border, not on
the copper portion. No other flowers should
be placed anywhere on the Yantra or Linga,
including the granite portion. Any other
flowers you wish to offer can be placed near
the Yantra. This is to ensure that there is
minimal interference with the Yantra.

 Cleaning the Yantra
• A dry cotton cloth can be used to remove
dust from the copper portion of the Yantra
as needed.
• Note that the Yantra will naturally darken
over time. This does not affect the Yantra.
• If there are oil spots or other stains, you may
rub dry vibhuti with a dry cloth on the spot.
• Do not use sponges, lemon, tamarind, or any
chemicals on the Yantra.
• Do not keep any offerings or other items on
the Yantra.
• There should be minimal disturbance to the
Linga. Only dust it as needed with a clean,
dry cotton cloth.

Replacing the Sutra
• The sutra should be changed every two
years. If there are more than three broken
threads in the sutra, or if it is very worn out,
it should be changed as soon as possible.

 Yantra Care During Solar and Lunar Eclipses

mixed with turmeric powder. Ensure
the cloth is fully dry before placing it on

• If I am single now and later marry, can my
spouse do the process?
If you get married, your spouse can begin
doing the daily process three months after
marriage. Before that, he or she should not
touch the Yantra.
• Should I continue to do the process when
there is a birth or death in the family?
You should continue the daily process no matter
what the outside situation is. In such cases, it can
be supportive for you.
• What do we do when moving homes or
offices?
Only move the Yantra when it is absolutely
needed. Before placing it in your home or
office, please decide where you want it to be
kept. Do not move it for cleaning purposes.

• What will happen to the Yantra after we
pass away?
The Yantra can be passed on from generation
to generation. It can only be passed on to
the next generation after the individual or
couple that received it has passed away. You
will need to choose one of your children to
pass on the Yantra to. Upon your passing,
your son or daughter will need to contact the
Yantra Team for instructions.
They should not touch the copper portion of
the Yantra or do the process until they have
received these instructions. They should also
arrange Kalabhairava Karma on your behalf.
If you do not have children, or if your children
do not wish to take the Yantra, please
contact the Yantra Team to determine how
the Yantra will be cared for.

Three cycles of the Devi Dandam and
Linga Bhairavi Stuti is a powerful practice
you may do to intensify your connection
with Devi.
Linga Bhairavi Arati is an offering of
oneself to Devi. You may chant the Arati
to Devi at any time, or you can play
Sadhguru’s Arati. You may also offer lit
camphor during the Arati.

 6. Opening Your Yantra Room –
Home or Office Gatherings

• Living in a consecrated space can bring Preparation

many benefits, joys and possibilities. You
can bring together friends and relatives
to experience the Grace of Linga Bhairavi.
This is a powerful form of seva you can
offer to Devi.
• It would be especially beneficial to host
a gathering on the auspicious occasions
of Purnima or Amavasya, where there is
a natural upsurge of energy. You can also
choose to host your gathering on any other
day that is convenient for you and your
guests. Those wishing to attend may bring
offerings for Devi.
• The following process is suggested for
gatherings, but you may conduct them
in other ways if you wish. You may adjust
the start time as is convenient for you and
your guests.
• Clean the Yantra with a dry cloth, or clean
as required.
• You may replace the kumkum on Devi’s
third eye if needed at this time.
• Optionally, keep a photo of Linga Bhairavi
behind the Yantra for visual connectivity.
• You can make copies of the Linga Bhairavi
Stuti sheets as needed for your guests.
• You can invite guests to make a musical
offering after the process.
• Please request your guests to switch off
their cellphones or put them in silent mode
before they enter the Yantra room.

 Process
• As your guests arrive, play Mahim Muladhare
for approximately 15 minutes while they are
seated. If guests have brought any offerings
for Devi, they may be placed near the Yantra,
as is suited to your space.
• You can begin the pooja at 5:45 pm. Play the
Linga Bhairavi Arati in Sadhguru’s voice. You
and others can chant along. You can offer lit
camphor during the Arati, if desired.
• Request everyone to be seated with eyes
closed, palms facing upward. Play the
11-minute Lum Vum chant. You should also
sit with eyes closed.
Note: Do not do the daily process
The daily process is your time to connect
with Devi andshould be done in private. If
you normally do the process in the evening
and you are hosting a Purnima gathering,
please do it before your guests arrive or after
they leave. There are no time restrictions
on when it should be done on Purnima
or otherwise. You can make the Purnima
offering of lemon or coconut before doing
the daily process on that day.

• Play 1 cycle of the Linga Bhairavi Stuti audio
with chorus and request all to chant after
Sadhguru. If you have time, you may choose
to chant 3 cycles.
• Request everyone to be seated with eyes
closed, palms facing upward. Play 2 songs
from the Triveni album such as Jaago Bhairavi
or Bhairavi Vandana.
• Play the Linga Bhairavi Arati in Sadhguru’s
voice. You and others can chant along.
You can offer lit camphor during the Arati,
if desired.
• Afterwards, you can go around and offer
the Arati to guests while playing Bhairavi
Shatakam.
• All present can come close to the Yantra one
at a time and bow down (it should be clear
that they should not touch the Yantra when
doing so). You may leave the Arati stand
nearby to the side so guests can take Arati.
If available, when they come forward you
can also offer them some kumkum from Isha
Yoga Center that they can apply.
 • You can invite guests to offer a song or play
an instrument for Devi.
• After the process, you can play songs from
Ye Devi or Triveni albums for those who wish
to remain in the Yantra room. Again, please
ensure all present know that they should not
touch the Yantra.

• If any edible prasadam is available, it can be
distributed outside the Yantra room.
• If you feel your guests would be interested,
you can play the 7-minute Consecrated
Spaces video.
