Chanel is a company specialized in haute couture, luxury articles and

accessories, and is nowadays privately owned by Alain and Gerard


Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre, who was one of the first business
partners of the stylist Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, better known as Coco
Chanel.
This brand founded in nineteen hundred and nine was a true myth in the
fashion world, responsible for most of the main changes in women's
clothing and fashion that took place in the 20th century. Having been at
two thousand and seventeen, valued at thirteen point four billion dollars,
being considered the fifth most valuable brand in France.
Coco Chanel, founder of this brand, was a French fashion designer, born
on August 19, one thousand eight hundred and eighty three and died on
January 10, one thousand nine hundred seventy-one. After the death of
her mother, coco chanel, at only twelve years, was raised in an orphanage
run by nuns. At the orphanage she learned to sew and worked in a sewing
workshop specializing in making layettes. This way coco chanel could sell
the hats she designed and made.
Channel became world-renowned for the "black dress" for the No. 5
perfume and for the Chanel costume, as the use of knitted fabrics
produced comfortable and accessible clothes.
Her clothes began to dress the great actresses of Hollywood, and her style
dictated fashion all over the world.
Coco's ideas have stood the test of time, going through two great wars
and economic crises.
This brand is headquartered in France, has more than thousand five
hundred employees, is present in hundred countries and has two hundred
stores.
