Assessing My Language Learning Progress Through Reading, Writing, and Speaking in

English

While making a portfolio, I met difficult and new assignments that helped me evaluate my
knowledge of the language and identify areas for improvement. Through reading
comprehension exercises, creating ad hoc questions based on given text, and recording
personal stories in English, I developed my critical thinking skills, expanded my
vocabulary, and improved my fluency and pronunciation.
While I can usually understand the main ideas and key details of a text, sometimes I have
trouble with more complex vocabulary and sentence structure. To improve myself, I started
reading more complex texts and working on expanding my vocabulary. By creating my
own text-based questions, I was able to develop my critical thinking skills and anticipate
the types of questions that might be asked in exams.
Recording personal stories in English was a difficult but rewarding activity for me.
Through this, I have identified areas where I need to improve, such as speaking too fast
and slurring. However, I also noticed that over time my vocabulary and grammar
improved, which increased my confidence in speaking.
Overall, these sessions helped me assess my language skills and identify areas for
improvement. While there is always room for growth, I am proud of the progress made and
intend to continue to develop my language skills.
