ست َ ِّف ْق يَ ِِّ ِّـم ْ َو َما ِّللْقَ ْل ِّب َك Ayaĥsabuş şabbu
3.So what is wrong with your eyes: when you say annal ĥubba
“Stop!” they just weep? And with your heart: when you say, munkatimun Mā
“Be sane!” it acts crazily?

َّ بُّ ص َّ ـب ال س لَ أيَ ْح minhu wa
muđţarimi
5.If not for passion, you would have never burst into tears Fa kayfa tunkiru
At the remains, nor lost sleep over the mount or the tree. ĥubban ba'da mā

َّ عد ْلو لل ال َّد ْم ِِّ َوال
ـك ل َ علَ ْي
َ ِّب ِّه
dam'i was saqami
ت ِّباألَلَ ِّـم
ِّ ض اللَّـذَّا ُّ َوا ْل لح
ب يَ ْعت َ ِّـر ل
ĥubbu ya'tariđul
ladhdhati bil alami
8.Yes, sights of my love have come at night and kept me
awake;
How love repels all delights and comforts with agony!
ش ْك َو ٰى ْالغ ََر ِام
َ ص ُل ْاْل َّو ُل فِي ْالغَزَ ِل َو

ًيَا ال ِّئ ِّم ْي ِّفي ا ْل َِ ٰوى ا ْلعل ْذ ِّري ِّ َم ْع ِّذ َرة 'udhriyyi

Min jahlihā bi
nadhīrish shaybi
1.My evil ego, in its stupidity, paid no heed wal harami
To all the warning of graying hair and seniority.

ِّْ َّ ُّ س ل ا َّ
ن َ ث لَ ْم يَ ْد ِّر أِّم ْن َح ْي ل
Min ĥaythu lam yadri
annas summa fid

9.How many times it’s convinced a man of killer delights—
While blind to the poison in the gravy so savory! Wa khshad dasā-isa
min jū'in wa min
ِّ س ِّم ْن لج ْوع َّو ِّم ْن
َِشب َ ِّسائ
َ ش ال َّد
َ اخْ َو shiba'in
Fa rubba
َّ َ
ـار ِّم َوا ْل َز ْم ِّح ْميَـ النـد َِّم
ِّ حَ م

ل ِّم َن ا
Minal maĥārimi wal
zam ĥimyatan
nadami
11.And void of tears eyes that have been stuffed with forbidden
things. Wa khālifin nafsa
Keep in the shelter of pure repentance unceasingly. wash shayţāna

ْ َ ن ه
ِّ ب

َ َ ن دْ َ لْق َ ل Laqad nasbtu bihi
naslan li dhī 'uqumi
14.I ask for pardon from God for empty word with no deed;
I have ascribed by it to a sterile man progeny.

س ٰوى فَ َرض َّولَ ْم أ ل
ص ِّم ِّ ص ِّل َ َولَ ْم أ ل
16.I haven’t packed extra deeds in preparation for death;
I haven’t prayed, haven’t fasted, but the compulsory.

Ani shtakat
ُّ شـت َ َُ ْت قَ َد َمــاُل ال
َ َّر ِّم ْن َو َر ِّم Qadamāhuđ đurra min
warami
1.I’ve violated the way of him who livened the dark,
Until his feet had complained of swelling up painfully;
Wa shadda min
ف األ َ َد ِّم
َ شــحا ً ُّمتْ َر َ ت َ ْحتَ ا ْل ِّح َج
ْ َُ ار ِّة Taĥtal ĥijārati kash-
ĥan mutrafal adami
2.And out of hunger, would bind his abdomen and would wrap
Beneath a hard stone a waist whose skin is so velvety.

ِ ث فِي َم ْدحِ النَّبِي Wa rāwadat-hul
3.The lofty mountains made into gold for him tried to be Wa akkadat
A way to bait him, so he true loftiness let them see.
Zuhdahu fīhā
َ َت لز ْه َدُل فِّ ْي َِا
َ لر ْو َرتلــهل ْ َوأ َ َُّــد đarūratuhu
Innađ đarūrata lā
َ َلى ا ْل ِّع
ص ِّم َ ع لو
ْ د ـ ـعْ َ ت َ ال َ ةرَ و
ْ رل َّ
َ ال نَّ ِِّ
ta'dū 'alal 'işami
ع َج ِّـم َ ع ْـرب َّو ِّم ْن َوا ْلفَ ِّر ْيلْقَـ ْي ِّن ِّم ْن ل
6.Muhammad, the master of both worlds and both beings and
Both groups: the Arabs and the non-Arab community;

ُ ص ُل الثَّا ِل
ِ ث فِي َم ْدحِ النَّبِي Nabiyyunal āmirun
nāhī fa lā aĥadun
اآلم لر النَّــا ِّه ْي فَالَ أ َ َحــد
ِّ نَ ِّبيُّنَـا Abarra fī qawli lā
minhu wa lā na'ami
ْ َـر ِّف ْي ق
ــو ِّل الَ ِّم ْنـهل َوالَ نَعَ ِّـم ُّ َأب Huwal Ĥabībul
7.Our prophet, who is commander and forbidder—there is ladhī turjā
No one more true in his saying no or yes than is he. shafā'atuhu
عت لهل له َو ا ْل َح ِّب ْي ل
َ ب الَّــ ِّذ ْي ت ل ْر ٰجى شَـفَا Li kulli hawlin
minal ahwāli
9.He has invited to God, so all who grip onto him Fāqan Nabiyyīna fī
Are gripping rope that will never fray for eternity. khalqin wa fī

ــاق النَّ ِّب ِّي ْي َن ِّف ْي َخ ْلـق َو ِّف ْي لخللـق khuluqin
Wa lam yudānūhu fī
ـر ِّم
َ َُ َ ال و
َّ ـمـلْ ع
ِّ ي
ْ ف
ِّ ل ُو ل ن َا د ـل ي م َ
ْ َول
'ilmin wa lā karami
12.And all are standing before him at their own limits fixed:
A dot of knowledge or mark from words of sagacity.

ِ ث فِي َم ْدحِ النَّبِي Fa hwal ladhī tamma
ma'nāhu wa şūratuhu

ْ َ Thumma şţafāhu
Ĥabīban Bāri-un

ِّ حَ ل ُـاَ فََ ص

َّ ث nasami
13.He is the one with perfected essence and outward form; Munazzahun 'an
14.Picked as the love of the Maker of all humanity.
sharīkin fī maĥāsinihi
ســ ِّن ِّه ِّ َـن ش َِّـر ْيك ِّف ْي َم َحا ْ ـزُ ع َّ َلمن Fa jawharul ĥusni fīhi
ghayru munqasimi

ً سـبَ ْت قـ ْد َرُل آيـ َاتلهل ِّعظمـا َ َ
َ ل ْو نـاqadrahu āyātuhu

18.And were his marvels to match his worth in greatness, yud'ā dārisar rimami
his name,
When called, would give life to bones decayed to nihility.

ُ ص ُل الثَّا ِل Lam yamtaĥinnā bi
لَ ْم يَ ْمت َ ِّحنَّــا ِّب َمـا ت َ ْعيَـا ا ْلعللْقل ْو لل ِّبـ ِّه mā ta'yal 'uqūlu bihi
Ĥirşan 'alayna fa
23.The peak of knowledge about him is that he is a man Wa kullu āyin atar
And is the best of Allah’s creation, entirely. Ruslul kirāmu bihā

24.And all the marvels the noble messengers have conveyed
Have come to them from the light of Ahmad exclusively.

25.He is the Sun of esteem, to which they are as if moons:
Reflecting its lights in darknesses to humanity. Akrim bi khalqi

م ــر ْ
ُ َ Nabiyyin zānahu
khuluqun
س ِّـم ْ
ْ شـت َ ِّمل ِّبال ِّب
ِّ َّ ش ِّـر لمت م ْ ـن لم ِّ س

ل ِّبا Bil ĥusni
mushtamilin bil
26.How grand the form of a Prophet brightened by character, bishri muttasimi
Enveloped by handsomeness, distinguished by jollity!

ِ ث فِي َم ْدحِ النَّبِي Kaz zahri fī tarafin
صدَف ي
َ ْ ِّ ْ َ ف ن ل ول ن ْ

ل ا ل
ؤ ل لؤْ ُّ لال ام َّ نَ
َ ََُـــ
maknūnu fī şadafin
Min ma'dinay
manţiqin minhu wa
َ َ ِّم ْن َّم ْعــ ِّد ِّن ْي َم ْن َِّـق ِّم ْنهل َو لم ْبت
س ِّـم mubtasami
29.From treasure chests of his eloquence and his beaming grin
Do seem to be pearls preserved within their shells preciously. Lā ṭība yaʿdilu
1.His noble birth did reveal the purity of his roots. Yawmun tafarrasa fīhil
How pure the outset of them as well as finality!

bu-si wan niqami

َ غا َ ـاوةَ أ َ ْن َ س َ ِ َ سـا َ َو

buĥayratuhā
7.The jinn were speaking aloud, and lights were shining so bright; 'Ammū wa şammū
The Truth is made manifest in signal and verbally. fa i'lānul bashā-iri
ص ُّم ْوا فَــ ِّإ ْعالَ لن ا ْلبَشَـائِّ ِّر لَ ْم
َ ع لم ْوا َو
َ lam
Tusma' wa bāriqatul
ل َ َ ْ ْ ل
ــارقَ ا ِّإلنذ ِّار ل ْم تش َِّـم ْ تل
ِّ َ س َم ِْ َوبـ
indhāri lam tushami
8.But blind and deaf they were so the happy news went unheard;
And flashes of lightning as a warning they didn’t see.

َّ ص ُل الرابِ ُع فِي َم ْو ِل ِد ِه َعلَ ْي ِه ال
Min ba'di mā
ل ْ َ ْ َ
ِّم ْن بَ ْعـ ِّد َما أخبَ َر األق َوا َم َُــا ِّهن لِ ْم م akhbaral aqwāma
kāhinuhum
ـو َّج لَ ْم يَلْقل ِّـم ع م
َ ْ ل ل لْ
ل ا م ـ ِ ـَ ن ي د
ِّ َّ
ن َ َِّبــ Bi anna dīnahumul
mu'wajja lam yaqumi
9.All after their fortune teller notified all the folk
Their old religion so crooked soon would no longer be.
Wa ba’da ma 'āyanū

ِّ ل فل أل ا ي ف
ِّ اوْ ل نَ ي َا
ع ا م

د ـعْ َ ب و
َ fil ufqi min shuhubin
Munqađđatin wifqa
ض ِّم ْن ِّ ْ األر ي ف
ِّ َ َ َ َّو
ـا م ـق ْ
ف َّ َلم ْنلْق mā fil arđi min
şanami
صنَ ِّمَ
10.And after they eyed in the horizons the shooting stars
All crashing like statues in the earth for idolatry.

َّ ص ُل الرابِ ُع فِي َم ْو ِل ِد ِه َعلَ ْي ِه ال Ĥattā ghadā 'an
ق ا ْل َو ْحي ِّ لم ْن َِ ِّزم

َ ْ
َن ع َادـ َ
غ ى ّٰ َحت
ţarīqil waĥyī
munhazimun
Minash shayāţīni
ْ
َ اَ ْي ِّن يَ ْلْقفل ْوا ِِّث
ـر لم ْن َِ ِّـز ِّم ِّ َِّم َن الشَّـي yaqfū ithra
munhazimi
11.Until from the source of revelation, up in the sky,
One after the other, each retreating demon did flee. Ka annahum
صى ِّم ْن َّرا َحت َ ْيـ ِّه لر ِّم ْي ٰ س َُر ِّبـا ْل َحْ ْأ
ع
َ وَ ĥaşā min rāĥatayhi
rumī
12.They were when fleeing just like the heroes of Abrahah,
Or like a pelted-with-pebbles-from-his-hands infantry.

َّ ص ََلة ُ وال ْ َ ْالفChapter Four: On The Prophet's Birth
َّ ص ُل الرابِ ُع فِي َم ْو ِل ِد ِه َعلَ ْي ِه ال
ت َ ِّلْق ْيـ ِّه َح َّر َو َِّ ْيـس ِّل ْل َِ ِّجــ ْي ِّر َح ِّم ْي
lil hajīri ĥamī
3.Just like the cloud moving with him as he moved anywhere; Aqsamtu bil qamaril
From noon’s intense oven heat protecting him constantly. munshaqqi inna

ن مل ْ
ل ا ر ِّ م
َ َ لْق ْ
ل ا ب
ِّ تل م
ْ س
َ ْ
ق َ ا Min qalbihi nisbatan
mabrūratal qasami

َ َ لْقلْ ا َ ةر ب
ْ م ً
َ ْ ِّم ْن ق ِّ ِّ ِّ ْ َ َ ل
و ر ب س ن ه ب ْ
ل َ
4.I swear an oath by the moon, which split in two, that it has
A likeness to his pure heart—an oath of veracity.
س فِي ُم ْع ِجزَ اتِ ِه ﷺ ِ ص ُل ْالخ

ــار ِّم ْن َخ ْير َّو ِّم ْن َُ َر ِّم َو َما َح َوى ا ْلغَ ل
min khayrin wa min
karamin
Wa kullu ţarfin minal
ع ْنهل ع َِّم ْي َ َو لُــ ُّل ََ ْرف ِّم َن ا ْل لُفَّ ِّار kuffāri 'anhu 'amī
5.And what the cave did contain of good and nobility; Faş Şidqu fil ghāri
With every look from the disbelievers too blind to see. waş Şiddīqu lam
6.The Truth and Truthful in Faith inside the cave hadn’t moved;
All while they were saying that inside the cave none could be.
س فِي ُم ْع ِجزَ اتِ ِه ﷺ ِ ص ُل ْالخ

Dhannul ĥamāma
11.Do not deny revelation from his dreaming, because Wa dhāka ĥīna
His heart, though his eyes may shut, is open wide and does see. bulūghin min

ِّ ِّ ْ ف ْ َ ل ل ِّ ْ ِّ َ ل ل
ل ت ح م ل ا ـ ح ه ي ف رَُ ـ ْ
ن ي س ي َ لَ ĥālu muĥtalim
َوأ َ َْلَلْقَ ْت أ َ ِّربــا ً ِّم ْن ِّر ْبــلْقَ ِّ اللَّ َم ِّم min ribqatil lamami
14.How many times has his palm by touch relieved the unwell,
And freed the helpless from in the noose of insanity.
س فِي ُم ْع ِجزَ اتِ ِه ﷺ ِ ص ُل ْالخ

ِّبعَ ِّارض َجا َد أ ْو ِّخلتَ ال ِّبَـا َح ِّب َِــا
Bi 'āriđin jāda aw
khiltal biţāĥa bihā
Sayban minal
سـ ْيل ِّم َن ا ْلعَ ِّر ِّم َ يلْ
َ ْ ِّ سـ ْيب ِّم َن ا
أو م َ yammi aw saylan
minal 'arimi
16.With teeming clouds—you’d have thought the valleys
had rivers flow
In from the sea, or a flooded dam that gushed viciously.
ِ ُف ْالق

ُ س اد Da'nī wa waşfī āyātin
1.Leave me alone to describe his miracles, which are plain Fad durru yazdādu
As nightly fire on mountains, lit as a courtesy. ĥusnan wa hwa
َ ً ص قَــ ْدرا
qadran ghayra
غ ْي َر لم ْنت َ ِّظ ِّم س يَـ ْنلْقل ل
َ َولَ ْي muntadhimi
2.For pearls increase in their beauty when arranged on a string,
But aren’t less precious kept alone and separately.

Fa mā taţāwulu āmālil
ـاو لل آمــا ِّل ا ْل َم ِّد ْيحِّ ِِّلَى

َفَ madīĥi ilā
Mā fīhi min karamil
ِّ ق َو
الشيَ ِّم ِّ َ ال ْ

ِّ ه ِّ ـيْ ف
ِّ ـا م

akhlāqi wash shiyami
3.What eulogizing has any hope of stretching to reach Āyātu ĥaqqin min ar-
What he possesses in noble nature and quality? Raĥmāni muĥdathatun
الر ْح ٰم ِّن لم ْح َدثَــ
َّ ـات َحق ِّم َن آيـ َ ل Qadīmatun şifatul
mawşūfi bil qidami
ْ
ف ِّبال ِّلْقـ َد ِّم ـو ص
ل
ِّ ْ ْ َ و م ْ
ل ا ل َ فصِّ َ ق

4. True signs from the Merciful, originated in time,
Beginningless, trait of Him Who is beginninglessly.

Lam taqtarin bi
ع َِّن ا ْل َمعَـــا ِّد َوع َْن عـاد َّوع َْن ِِّ َر ِّم
'Anil Ma'ādi wa 'an
'ādin wa 'an irami
5.They aren’t bound by constraints of time, as they tell us of
The day to come, also Aad and Irum—past history. Dāmat ladaynā fa
شـبَه لم َح َُّـ َمات فَ َمــا ت ل ْب ِّلْق ْي َن ِّم ْن ل tubqīna min shubahin
Li dhī shiqāqin wa mā
غت ل َِــا َد ْعوى لمعَ ِّار َِّ َِـا َ َّت بَال ْ َرد
da'wā mu'āriđihā
Raddal ghayūri
yadal jānī 'anil
ور يَـ َد ا ْلجــا ِّن ْي ع َِّن ا ْل لح َر ِّمِّ ل يَ غلْ َر َّد ا ĥurami
9.Their eloquence fought off their dissenters’ claim, as a man
That is protective fights off attack from his family. Lahā ma'ānin ka
11.Such that their wonders are countless and beyond any bound, Qarrat bihā 'aynu
And never found to be tiresome in great quantity. qārīhā fa qultu lahu
ت لَــهل ع ْي لن قَ ِّار ْي َِا فَلْقل ْل ل
َ قَ َّر ْت ِّب َِـا Laqad dhafirta bi
ĥabliLlāhi fa'taşimi
هللا فَـا ْعت َ ِّص ِّمِّ لَلْقَـ ْد َظفَ ْـرتَ ِّب َح ْبـ ِّل
12.By them is soothed their reciter’s eye, so I said to him,
“You have indeed found the rope of God, so hold steadily.”

In tatluhā khīfatan min
ِِّ ْن تَتْلل َِا ِّخ ْيفَ ً ِّم ْن َح ِّر نَ ِّار لَظي ĥarri nāri ladhā
Aţfa-ta ĥarra ladhā
صا ِّة َوقَــ ْد َجا لؤ ْوُل َُا ْل ِّح َم ِّـم َ ِّم َن ا ْلعل
14.Just like the Basin, as it is whitening every face,
Of sinners coming to it like coals as black as can be.

17.An eye may even reject the light of sun when inflamed;

A mouth rejecting the taste of water from malady.

sha-wan li mustabiqin
ســت َ ِّن ِّمْ قى ِّل لم

ِّ ل ن د ُّ الـــ َ
ن م
ِّ Minad dunuwwi wa lā
marqan li mustanimi
7.Until you had left no goal for the ambitious in hope
Of closeness, nor height for someone seeking ascendency.
Khafađta kulla
َْـافَ ِّ ِِّذ َ اإل ِّ ب
ِّ م ام َ لْقمَ ل
َّ ــُل َت ْ
َ َ ف َ
خ maqāmin bil iđāfati idh
Nūdīta bir raf'i mithlal
الـر ْف ِِّ ِّمثْ َل ا ْل لم ْف َر ِّد ا ْلعَــلَ ِّم
َّ نل ْو ِّد ْيتَ ِّب mufradil 'alami
8.You humbled all ranks by annexation: you were addressed,
Like unannexed proper noun, with singular dignity.

َّ ص ُل ال
Kaymā tafūza bi waşlin
ســت َ ِّت ِّر ْ صــل أي ِّ لمْ َُ ْي َما تَفل ْو َز ِّب َو ayyi mustatirin
'Anil 'uyūni wa sirrin
ســـر أي ِّ لم ُْت َ ِّت ِّم ْ ع َِّن ا ْلعليل
ِّ ــو ِّن َو ayyi muktatami
9.So that you triumph with a connection oh so concealed
Fa ĥuzta kulla fakhārin
From eyes, and a secret oh so shrouded in mystery!
ghayra mushtarakin
شـت َ َرك َ فَ لح ْزتَ لُــ َّل فَ َخار
ْ غ ْي َر لم Wa juzta kulla maqāmin
ghayra muzdaĥami
َ َو لج ْزتَ لُــ َّل َملْقَــام
غ ْي َر لم ْز َد َح ِّم
10.So you obtained every glory, no one else joining you;
And you surpassed all alone, unchallenged, every degree.

Wa jalla miqdāru wā
ِّم ْن ُّرتَب ََار َمـا لو ِّل ْيت دـ ْ
َو َجـ َّل ِّم ل
لْق wullīta min rutabin
Wa 'azza idrāku mā
ِّ َِّم ْن ِّنع
ــم َاك َمــا أ ل ْو ِّل ْيت
َوع ََّز ِِّ ْد َر ل ūlīta min ni'ami
11.The measure of stations you were granted, what majesty!
Attaining the blessings you were given, what rarity! Bushrā lanā ma'sharal
Islāmi inna lanā
ـالم ِِّ َّن لَنَا ِّ سْ اإل َـر
ِّ َ ش ع
ْ م
َ اَ نَ ش ٰـرى ل ْ بل Minal 'ināyati ruknan
ghayra munhadimi
َ ً ِّم َن ا ْل ِّعنَايَـ ِّ لر ُْنــا
غ ْي َر لم ْن َِــ ِّد ِّم
12.Great news for us, people of Islam! Indeed, we possess
A pillar of special care erected unbreakably.
اج ِه ﷺ

َ لَ َّمـا َدعَى هللا دَا ِّع ْينـ َـا ِّل ََــا
Lammā da'āLlāhu
ع ِّت ِّه dā'īnā li ţā'atihi
الر ََ ِم
َّ وَ ـان
ِ ب ْ
ق عل
َ ُ َ َْ ا ع م ْت َ لَـا ش ء
َ ْـال
ش َ أ 'iqbāni war rakhami
3. They longed to flee so much that they watched the parts Tamđil layālī wa lā
carried off
By buzzards and vultures in a state of near jealousy.. yadrūna 'iddatahā
Mā lam takun min

ش َ ن ر ِّ ص
ْ َّ ن ال ح
ل اَ ي ر
ِّ َ
ـك ي
ْ َ ت ل ِْ ِّدي ِِّل
naşri nashrahumu
Fa taĥsabuz zahra fil
الز ْه َر ِّفي األ َ ُْ َم ِّام لُ َّل َُ ِّم ْی َّ ب ِّ فت َ ْح
akmāmi kulla kamī
ْ َهللا ن
Wa man takun bi
ص َرتلهل ِّ سو ِّل َو َم ْن ت َ لُ ْن ِّب َر ل RasūliLlāhi
nuşratuhu
ام َِا ت َ ِّج ِّم
ِّ َ ج آ ي ف د
ل س ل
ِّ ْ ِِّ ْن ت َ ْللْقَهل األ In talqahul usdu fī
ājāmihā tajimi
18.Whoever is aided by the Messenger of Allah,
If lions meet him inside their woods, they bow silently.
ام ُن ِفي ِج َها ِد النَّ ِبي ِ ﷺ ْ َ ْالفChapter Eight: The Prophet’s Jihad
ِ َّ ص ُل الث Wa lan tarā min
ص َم ا ْلبل ْر َه ل
ان ِّم ْن َخ ِّص ِّم َّ ِّف ْي ِّه َو َُـ ْم َخ
Fīhi wa kam khaşamal
burhānu min khaşimi
21.How often the words of God refuted the quarrelsome
About him! How often proof defeated the enemy! Kafāka bil 'ilmi fil
ًــاك ِّبـا ْلعَلَ ِّم ِّف ْي األ ل ِّمي ِّ لم ْع َج َزة
َ ََُف Ummiyyi mu'jizatan
Fil jāhiliyyati wat ta-
3.I have obeyed the deceit of youth in both cases and Fa yā khasārata
Got nothing but sins and then regret, oh, what misery!
nafsin fī tijāratihā
ار ِّت َِـا ج ت ي
َ َ ِّ ْ ِّ ف س ْ
ف َ ن َ ةــار س
َ َ َ
خ اَ ف
ـ يَ Lam tashtarid Dīna
bid dunyā wal lam
الد ْي َن ِّبـال ُّد ْنيَا َولَ ْم ت َ ل
س ِّـم ِّ شت َ ِّر
4.Oh, what a loss for my soul, the awful deal that it made!
ْ َ لَ ْم ت tasumi
Not buying faith with this world, not even browsing to see.
سو ِل هللاِ ﷺ
ُ س ِل بِ َر ْ َ ْالفChapter Nine: Seeking Intercession through the Prophet
ُّ ص ُل التَّا ِس ُع فِي ت َ َو
Wa man yabi' ājilan
اج ِّلـ ِّه َ ع ـ ب ل ه ْ
ِّ ِّ آجـالً ِّم
ن ِّ ِــْ َو َم ْن يَّ ِّب minhu bi 'ājilihi
Yabin lahul ghabnu fī
سـلَ ِّم َ يَ ِّب ْن لَّـهل ا ْلغَ ْب لن ِّف ْي بَ ْيـِ َّو ِّف ْي
5.Whoever sells off his future for his present will come
bay'in wa fī salami
To see the loss in his sale and future delivery. In āti dhanban fa mā
'ahdī bi muntaqiđin
ع ِْ ِّدي ِّب لم ْنت َ ِّلْقضَ ت َذ ْنبـا ً فَ َمــا ِّ ِِّ ْن آ Minan Nabiyyi wa lā
ĥablī bi munşarimi
ـــر ِّم
ِّ صَ ْ
ن ِّم َن النَّ ِّبي ِّ َوال َح ْبـ ِّلي ِّب لم
6.If I engage in a sin, my covenant isn’t void
With him, the Prophet; nor is the rope dissevered from me.
سو ِل هللاِ ﷺ
ُ س ِل بِ َر ْ َ ْالفChapter Nine: Seeking Intercession through the Prophet
ُّ ص ُل التَّا ِس ُع فِي ت َ َو
Fa inna lī dhimmatan
ــالذ َم ِّم
ِّ ق ِّب ِّ ْ
ل َ

َّ ً اد مَّ ح

ل
awfāl khalqi bidh
dhimami
7.By naming my son Muhammad I am in pledge to him;
And none is more faithful in fulfilling pledges than he. In lam yakun fī ma'ādī
آخذا ً ِّبيَ ِّد ْيِّ ـن ِّف ْي َمعَـا ِّدي ْ ُِِّ ْن لَّ ْم يَ ل ākhidhan bi yadī
Fađlan wa illā fa qul
َ ْ َ
َالً َّو ِِّال فَلْقلــ ْل يَــا َزلَّ اللْقد َِّم
ْ َف yā zallatal qadami
8.At my appointment, if he’s not holding onto my hand—
In graciousness—say, “Oh, what a fall into tragedy!”
سو ِل هللاِ ﷺ
ُ س ِل بِ َر ْ َ ْالفChapter Nine: Seeking Intercession through the Prophet
ُّ ص ُل التَّا ِس ُع فِي ت َ َو
Ĥāshāhu an yaĥrimar
اجي َم َُ ِّار َمهل ر ح
ْ ي ن ْ َ
ِّ َّ َ ِّ َّ َحاشَــاُل أ
الر م rājī makārimahu
Aw yarji'al jāru minhu
َ ــار ِّم ْنهل
غ ْي َر لم ْحـت َ َر ِّم ْ
أ ْ َ ْ ِّ َ َ ل
ج ل ا ِج ري وَ ghayra muĥtarami
9.Far be it from him to bar the aspirant of his gifts,
Or send away in dishonor from him a refugee. Wa mundhu alzamtu
afkārī madā-iĥahu
ـــار ْي َمدَا ِّئ َحهل ِّ َ

ز ْ
ل َ أ ل ذنْ َو لم Wajadtuhu li khalāşī
ٰ
يَــدَا لز َه ْيرم ِّب َمـا أثْنى عَلى ه ِّـر ِّم
َ
athnā 'alā harimi
ث ا ْلعَ َم ِّم
ِّ اك ِّع ْنـ َد لحلل ْو ِّل ا ْل َحا ِّد َ ـو Siwāka 'inda ĥulūlil
هللا َجا له َك ِّب ْي ِّ س ْـو َلق َر ل َ َولَ ْن يَّ َِّ ْي RasūlaLlāhi Jāhuka
bī
س ِّم ْ َ
َ صيا ِّن فِّي ال ِّلْق ْ
ْ ب ال ِّعِّ س ْ
َ تََتِّ ْي عَلى َح
yaqsimuhā
Ta-tī 'alā ĥasabil
5.I hope, the mercy of my Lord, when distributed, would be
'işyāni fil qisami
distributed in proportion (according) to the sins.
Yā Rabbi waj'al
غ ْي َر لم ْنعَ ُِّس َ اجعَ ْل َر َجا ِّئ ْي
ْ ب َوِّ يَا َر rajā-ī ghayra
ـر ِّم َ

ِّ ْ
ل اوَ ى ٰ
لْقُّ ن الو َ ى ٰ
لْقُّ ت ال ل
ل ْ
ه َ أ
hum
Ahlut Tuqā wan Naqā
11.The Family and Companions and all the Followers, wal Ĥilmi wal Karami
The people of purity and patience and piety.
اص َدنَا
ِّ ََ لْق م ْ
غ ل
ِّ َ ب ىَ ف َ
َ ص
ْ ب ِّبال لم
ِّ يا َر
Yā rabbi bil muṣṭafā
balligh maqāṣidanā
س َِ ال َُ َر ِّم ِّ َى يَا َوا َ َوا ْغ ِّف ْر لَنَا َما َم Waghfir lanā mā
maḍā yā wāsiʿal
12.My Lord, by the Chosen One, make our hopes come to be,
And pardon us what has gone, O Vast in Gen’rosity. karami
ِ ض ْال َحا َجا
ت ِ ص ُل ْالعَا ِش ُر فِي ْال ُمنَا َجاةِ َو َع ْر

14. By the prestige of him who the Goodly Land is his home;
Whose very name is an oath of greatest immensity.

ت ِ ص ُل ْالعَا ِش ُر فِي ْال ُمنَا َجاةِ َو َع ْر

ياواسع الكرم
Yā Wāsi'al-Karami
ياواسع الكرم
Protect our Syria by it,
o abundant in generosity
احفظ بِا شيخنا Ihfaz Bi’ha
Shaykh’na
ق نَ ِّد ل
ين ِّب ِّه ٌّ لم َح َّمد ِّدينلهل َح
علَ ِّم َ علَى َ لم َح َّمد لم ْج ِّم ًال َحلْقًا
Muḥammadun dīnuhu ḥaqqun nadīnu bihi
Muḥammadun mujmilan ḥaqqan ʿalā ʿalami
8. Muhammad - his creed is true, by it we profess our
faith
Muhammad - eminent, the embodiment of truth
سنَاِّ لم َح َّمد ِّذ ُْ لرُل َر ْوح ِّأل َ ْنفل
علَى ْاأل ل َم ِّم َ ش ُْ لرُل فَ ْرض لم َح َّمد ل
Muḥammadun dhikruhu rawḥun li anfusinā
Muḥammadun shukruhu farḍun ʿala l-umami
9. Muhammad - to mention him brings refreshment to
our souls
Muhammad - praising him is a duty upon all peoples
