PBL Script

Vihaan: Hello to all my dear friends, parents and respected teachers. We are the
Group 3 of PBL from 7A will be presenting our project to you.
Anvee: Our group consists of 5 members, Kartik, Vihaan, Halima, Nandini and me,
Anvee. Our topic is what is your sweet spot Mr. Dhoni?
Halima: Let us first learn what is a sweet spot on a cricket bat? Do you know how
cricketers hit sixes and fours? I wonder. Lets see.
Kartik: The cricketers use a place on the cricket bat called a sweet spot. It is a place
on a bat, when the ball is hit goes the farthest. It causes a collision from which the
highest level of force is produced.
Anvee: The bat has a barrel which consists of a spine and a sweet spot. The barren
should be long and wide for it to have a good effect. The spine should be of medium
height.
Vihaan: Wow! I learnt a lot but now its time to learn about Mr. Dhoni who is known
as M.S. Dhoni. His full name is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was born on the 7 th of
July in 1981. He joined the Indian team in 2004. He is famous for his amazing batting
skills. Here you can see some of the runs he made against various international
teams.
Kartik: We found out that MS Dhoni uses the Spartan T20 bat to play. This bat has
a medium sweet spot which is the best of all. It also has a long barrel. It costs of Rs.
1849. It is a really good bat.
Halima: Here are some examples of M.S. Dhoni hitting the ball. As you can see in
the image the ball is hitting the highlighted spot and it is being hit at the middle of
the barrel so that the force is more and it is effective.
Vihaan: Now in the second Image the ball is hitting above the sweet spot so it will
create a weaker collision and vibration which wont give out the desired force.
Anvee: Now lets take a look at the structure and composition of a cricket bat. (Tell
the parts and explain)
Halima: So, based on our study the bat of Mahendra Singh Dhoni should have the
following features in it.
The cricket bat has to have a long barrel so that the sweet spot is larger and easier
to hit.
It has be a medium sized sweet spot as we have seen as it is the most advantageous
and effective.
Kartik: The bat has to weigh medium based on the size so that it is easy to swing
and hit the ball.
The weight of the bat will make it easier to handle as it is balanced.
It should have a handle with a rubber grip to prevent the bat from slipping out of
the players hand.
Vihaan: Now, we have finally come to the conclusion that the Spartan t20 which is
the bat that ms dhoni uses is the most suitable for him. We wish that he will keep
playing for India and keep making wonderful rechords of our team.
Anvee: I would like to show the interviews of few of our group members and how

Kartik: I would like to thank our teachers Ranjana Maam, Shabeen Mam and
Akanksha mam for helping us with this project. I will also like to thank my group
members for all the hard work and efforts. I had a lot of fun doing this project and
I am very happy to get a chance to present it to you.
