Disadvantages of Gadget Usage in Boarding

Technology has come to long ways and gadget have become far more advanced than few
decades back. They have become more of a necessity. Even student that can be seen carrying this
device, especially boarding’s students. That use this gadget for chatting or browsing on the internet. It is
undeniable that they have become a part of their everyday life. There are many disadvantages of usage
gadget for boarding’s students :

First of all, mobile phone will easily distract students’ focus on studying. Mobile phones are now
featured with a lot of game and multimedia applications for entertainment purposes. If they bring it, no
one can guarantee that they won’t play it at boarding. They will pay less attention to their homework
and ignore their obligation as a student.

Second, students will possibly be heavily dependent on their gadget. As we know that latest
gadget are come with many functional features such as dictionary, calculator, and internet browser. It’s
afraid that students will depend too much on their phone in doing every single assignment, for example
always using calculator application to do their mathematics tasks or browsing the answer for an essay
on internet just to make it easy. It is obviously limit the development of their optimal potential and skill.

Third, mobile phones tend to make students have less social interaction. When students have
had their mobile phone on their hand, they possibly only focus on their phone screen and forget about
socializing with their friends. Of course, it leads them in having less social interaction or conversation
with their friends that may bring bad social effect.

Gadget is indeed a good technology to ease people communicates each other but it also comes
with bad effects that can’t be preventable if it’s used inappropriately. we might be able to limit the use
of gadgets for boarding students, such as using gadgets only when needed or for emergencies. last but
not least I personally believe that use gadget at boarding is not worth it to student.
