STRENGTHENING THE BRIGADA PAGBASA PROJECTS OF THE

SCHOOLS DIVISION OF BATANGAS

1. In support to the implementation of the DepEd Order No 173, s. 2019 re:

HAMON: BAWAT BATA BUMABASA, SDO Batangas in partnership with the
Provincial Federation of Parents and Teachers Association and other
stakeholders will strengthen its reading project tilled Kabatarig ng Paaralari:
Larga Brigada Pagbasa.

2. This activity aims to help every learner to develop their reading skills and make
them proficient readers.

3. All Sub-offices and schools level are highly encouraged to intensify their
advocacy for reading and by pledging commitment to make every learner a
reader at his/her grade level.

4. All schools shall adhere to replicate and implement the same or the like projects
using the Diagnostic and Proficiency Diagnostic Tool (DAPAT) as stipulated in
the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the Department of Education and
World Vision Foundation as an education partner.

5. Materials to be used in the said reading and assessment activities shall be

provided at the Curriculum Implementation Division. You may contact Mr.

6. The School Governance and Operations and the Curriculum Implementation

Division are expected to monitor and request data about the progress of the
said reading activities.

7. The funds and necessary expenses for reading literacy initiatives in every school
shall be charged from the school's Maintenance and Other Operating expenses
(MOOE). Financial assistance from local government units, the Parent and

Teachers Association, and other non-governmental organizations may also be

utilized to augment this initiative.

8. Teachers involved in implementing reading intervention beyond their actual six

hours of teaching loads shall be granted service credits equivalent to one day
for every six hours accumulated services rendered.
