LETTER TO MOTHER EARTH

Right now, we are living in a world full of environmental problems: Greenhouse gases filling the
atmosphere, causing excessive heat, and melting glaciers that cause floods; Trash can be seen
almost everywhere. Factories disposing their waste onto bodies of water, destroying water and
marine resources, and extreme drought that destroys our crops. Pollution is everywhere and Mother
Earth is weeping.

As one of the contributors to the degradation of the planet, you felt dejected as you felt its fury
towards us. Personifying Mother Earth, write a letter to her expressing your compassion, regret, and
promise to help build a better world.

The letter:
 Could be a business or a friendly letter
 Should be handwritten on a long bond paper (8.5” x 13”)
 Must contain ALL the essential parts
 Should have Mother Earth as the recipient of the letter
 Could have a fictional yet wholesome address
 Should have at least 3 paragraphs
o Paragraph 1: Indicate your greetings (to send regards; to say hello; to inquire about
someone's condition)
o Paragraph 2: Apologize for humanity’s injurious actions (on their behalf, if you know you
did not partake in such)
o Paragraph 3: State your promises to help her recuperate or better her condition
 Must indicate the following:
o You should be the sender.
o Your name should be written in all capital letters.
o Your signature should be your name written in cursive.

You may design the however you like but do not overdo it. It should be placed inside an envelope.
Submit 1 output for English and the same for Science.

Your letter will be graded based on the following:

 The expected contents of the letter are observed. 15 points


 All the parts of the letter are found. All the instructions are followed. 15 points
 The letter is free from grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors. 10 points
 The letter is straightforward and easy to understand. 10 points
50 points

The deadline for submission shall be:


o June 1 (Thursday) for Numbers and Leviticus
o June 2 (Friday) for Genesis, Psalms, and Deuteronomy
