Reports to: Assistant Store Manager
Classification: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Our Customer Service Associates play an important role in the success of a store team. The Customer
Service Associate focuses on exceeding customer expectations through helping customers find products,
maintaining clean and well-stocked aisles filled with product, and completing customer transactions
while displaying a positive, friendly attitude.

What You Will Do

 Exceed customer expectations with prompt and courteous service in the store and on the phone
 Operate the front registers (POS systems) including checking out customers, accepting payments
via credit card, cash, check and charge accounts
 Assist customer with finding products & provide guidance on products we offer
 Assist with carrying product to customer’s vehicle or arrange delivery when needed
 Work with a team to keep a clean and safe environment for associates and customers
 Work with a team on merchandising aisles including front, restocking and dusting shelves

What You Will Need

 Excellent customer service skills, dependability and integrity


 Able to operate a computer up to four hours at a time
 Pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen
 Able to stand & walk up to 8 hours a day
 Able to lift & lower boxes & products up to 50lbs
 High School Diploma or equivalent

Title: Customer Service Associate


Reports to: Assistant Store Manager
Classification: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Our Customer Service Associates play an important role in the success of a store team. The Customer
Service Associate focuses on exceeding customer expectations through helping customers find products,
maintaining clean and well-stocked aisles filled with product, and completing customer transactions
while displaying a positive, friendly attitude.

All employees are expected to adhere to Ace Mart business philosophy, guidelines and policies as laid
out in the Ace Mart mission statement, Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures Manual
and Safety Program.

Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the
essential functions.

1. Exceeds customer expectations by being prompt and courteous either in person or on the
phone, walking customers to the product in the store, providing guidance and knowledge of
the product, and carrying the product to the customer’s vehicle or arranging delivery service
if necessary.
2. Operates the company’s point of sale computer system, fax machines, telephones, radios,
etc.
3. Adheres to procedures for customer transactions to include reconciling a cash drawer,
making deposits, accepting full payments via credit card, cash, check, wire transfers or
charging accounts, correctly taxing products or not taxing products, and completing the
process for transferring product within Ace Mart stores.
4. Understands the discount process and pricing for customers.
5. Merchandises through proper aisle maintenance by fronting, restocking, and dusting
shelves.
6. Adheres to the store shipping and receiving procedures and ensures cost-effective shipping
methods are utilized.
7. Participates in training for personal development and assists with training for new members
of the team.
8. Provides a clean and safe store by maintaining the restrooms, warehouse, parking lot, and
refreshment area, sweeping and mopping the floors, and taking out the trash.
9. Performs other duties assigned by the Store Manager.

Work Environment

 Temperatures ranging from 35° to 95°.


 Noisy atmosphere (phones, trucks, overhead pages, fans, etc.)

Physical Demands

1. Pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.


2. Stand and walk up to eight (8) hours daily.
3. Lift and lower boxes and objects 35” from the floor.
a. 1-25 pounds 25 times daily
b. 26-50 pounds 10 times daily
4. Bend and stoop daily.
5. Operate a computer up to four hours at a time.
6. Communicate via telephone and email daily.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time position, with a schedule to include Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
with a rotating Saturday.

Travel Requirements
This position requires limited travel. If travel occurs, it will be within the local area.

Required Education and Experience

 High school diploma or equivalent.


 Knowledge of restaurant equipment and supplies is preferred.
 Experience with cash handling is preferred.
 Experience of serving customers in a retail environment is preferred.
 Experience with merchandising shelves is preferred.
