Dear HR manager,
I am Jacopo Mechelli, an architect with 2 years of experience.
I am very excited about the possibility of working for a company like yours where I would have the
opportunity to work on architectural design and planning in a professional environment. I have lived here in
Nederland since February 2016 so feel free to contact me to arrange an interview.

Over the past year I worked as Visualizer and Assistant designer at Studio 2Arch.0 principally for architectural competitions,
interior design, commercial, residential and retail projects. I have also worked as volunteer at the University of Florence since 2014
in the field of earthquake architecture, preservation of cultural heritage and historical centres.

Since working for this studio, I have managed projects from the early design phase (concept and schematic design) right through to completion.
I have a good background as coordinator of building site obtained during my professional experiences. I am used to working under pressure, I am a
good listener and I am looking for a new professional experience in order to improve my skills in a new environment.

I possess good technical and computer skills with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, 3Ds Max, VRay and the
Adobe Suite (photoshop, illustrator, indesign). I also have a good knowledge of building materials, constructive and preservation
techniques (historic and contemporary).

I appreciate your consideration of my application and look forward to further discussing this opportunity with you in
person. Please feel free to contact me anytime to arrange an interview.

Kind Regards,
Jacopo Mechelli

The seismic issue on historical

architecture. Lessons and
reflections from L’Aquila earthquake
(2009): a case study in the village
of Casentino.
The thesis presents results of a study
on mechanical characterization of
the vernacular historic masonry
walls in a village of L’Aquila region,
heavily damaged by the 2009
earthquake. The urban structure is
analyzed and the structural units of
a building are identified with direct
surveys in situ.
Five recurrent types of wall textures
are identified and characterized
by stonework sections. A method
for the assessment of masonry
quality is applied, it is based on
Masonry Quality Index. The seismic
improvement and restoration
project of a building unit is designed
in order to preserve the material
authenticity of rural historical
building.
