Read the conversation between Teacher 1 and Teacher 2. Reflect on it.
 Planning of our work will help us to solve the different challenges in our work. If
we don’t have plan we do not solve and pass does challenges.

ACTIVITY: Study the following scenario. It is about Brigid, a teacher who is planning to
teach three grades at the same time.
Answer the following
1. Study Brigid’s scheme of work for the week and then do the following exercise.
a. Name the organizational approach that Brigid has used.

b. Why do you think Brigid prepared a separate plan for each class?
 I think Brigid separate the plan for each class to be easy to understand/ review
the plan. It organized the details and informations.

c. List the components of Brigid’s plan briefly describe each component assists
in planning for classes.
 The components of Brigid’s plan are the following:
 Topic- it is the main question of you lesson
 Content- It serves as the topic of the lesson
 Objective- Is the target goal of your lesson
 Material- Materials helps us in planning our lesson. It serves as the tool
you will use in our teaching
 Activities- Activities is the methods and strategies you will use in your
lesson
 Evaluation- It is the assessment where the pupils are able to meet the
objectives

2. State name which can use to describe the simultaneous study of the same

Answer the following questions.
1. What is a scheme of work?
 A scheme of work, in short, is an overview or a long term plan for what
you aim to teach in a particular subject across a term or an academic
year. It is drawn from the syllabus and broken into pieces to be
organize.
2. Define a Unit Plan
 Unit plan is guideline in selecting appropriate content, activities,
materials and making evaluation to the learning competency.
3. Make a research on the comparison and contrast of thematic instruction and
topical instruction.
 Thematic and Topical Instruction are both use in teaching. But they are
different from each other, thematic instruction is about choosing a
specific theme for teaching while the topical instruction focuses on a
specific topic such as electricity, culture and etc.
REFLECTION
Answer the following questions honestly.
1. How much did you know about the lesson before we started?
 I only know that before we teach a lesson we should first create a plan
on how we are going to execute the lesson to the pupils.
2. What did you learned from the lesson?
 I learned that there are various aspects of planning the instruction. We
need to plan our instruction to select relevant goals and objectives,
ensure that necessary resources are acquired and evaluate the
effectiveness of the plan.
3. Below, write everything you know about the lesson but wasn’t on the module.
