5, P laser operation
5.1 Initial operation
1、 Remove the protective cap of the laser output connector (QBH or QD) and check the cleanliness of the
quartz glass and QBH and QD connector
Degrees.
2、 Make sure to wear proper eye protection and protective clothing.
3、 Turn on the main power switch connected to the P fiber laser.
4、 Set the control mode and working mode of the laser.

Control mode:
Internal control: use DB9 serial line to connect the laser with the computer, open the guanghui
HMI software on the computer, and control the laser through HMI.
External control: Control the laser through the interface connected to the rear panel of the
laser.

Working Mode:
Continuous mode: Also known as continuous mode. After this mode is selected, the output
power remains constant. In internal control mode, its constant power value is set by HMI;In the
external control mode, its constant power value is controlled by the analog signal (0.1V = 1% and 10V
= 100%) on pin 1 of DB15 interface.
Modulation mode: After this mode is selected, the output power varies between IDLE (low
modulation) and ON (high modulation). The ON value is determined by the selected working mode
setting.

Please refer to section 2 of this chapter for more details on the operation of the control mode
and working mode.

5、 Ensure that the interlocking circuit is closed, that is, DB15's "emergency stop signal (Pin5)"
and "cooling water fault interlocking signal (Pin12)" are connected to high level (24V).
6、 Ensure that the laser output light enable signal (DB15 Pin13) is invalid, that is, low level
(0V).
7、 Ensure that the starting signal of the main power supply (Pin23 of DB25) is valid, and access
the high level (24V).Wait 5 seconds, the output voltage stabilizes after the main power is
turned on. Get ready to turn on the laser.
8、 The 24V voltage is supplied by the RS-232 command or the optical enabling signal terminal
(Pin13 of DB15) to enable the output of the power laser.
9、 Through the laser output indicator signal (DB25d Pin4) terminal level can be obtained
whether the laser light out of the state.

Page 26

5.2 Setting of operation mode

P series lasers provide different operation modes according to the choice of control mode
and working mode.In internal control mode, the working mode of the laser is determined by
HMI.In external control mode, the working mode of the laser is determined by the level of PIN15
and PIN16 of DB25. For details, see DB25 interface definition.

Note: Laser-on can only be turned ON after 5S after the main power supply of the Laser is
started.

5.2.1 Internal control mode, "continuous" working mode

Set it to "Internal control" through the HMI software on the host computer and select
"Continuous" working mode. When laser-On is activated, the Laser output power is determined
by the corresponding value set by the HMI ON the host computer, and this output value can be
changed at any time when the Laser is fired. When the laser starts, the ION value is equal to the
IDLE power value.

Page 27
The user guide P series continuous fiber laser
Sequence diagram of "continuous" working mode in internal control mode

5.2.2 Internal control mode, "PWM" working mode

Through the HMI software on the host computer set to "internal control", and then select
"PWM" working mode, and finally set PWM program parameters. When the laser-on command is
started, the output optical power is adjusted to the ION value set by different PWM
programs. When the laser is fired, different PWM programs can be used to change the amplitude
of the output light energy in the "PWM" working mode.

5.2.3 Internal control mode, "Ramp" working mode

Set it to "Internal control" using the HMI software on the host computer, select "Ramp" mode,
and finally set the Ramp program parameters. When the laser-On command is started, the output
optical power is adjusted to the ION value set by the different Ramp program. When the laser is
fired, you can change the output of light energy in the "Ramp" mode using different Ramp
programs.

Time sequence diagram of "Ramp" working mode in internal control mode

Page 29
The user guide P series continuous fiber laser

5.2.4 External control mode, "continuous" working mode

The laser is external control mode by default, and can also be switched between internal
control and external control through HMI.When PIN15 and PIN16 of DB25 are open or grounded
at the same time, the p-laser operates in continuous mode. When the PIN13 pin of DB15 is
connected to 24V, the laser-On command starts, and the Laser output power is determined by
the voltage of the PIN1 analog input pin of DB15.

Page 30
The user guide P series continuous fiber laser

Sequence diagram of "continuous" working mode in external control mode

5.2.5 External control mode, "pulse" working mode

The laser is external control mode by default, and can also be switched between internal
control and external control through HMI.When DB25 PIN15 is connected to 24VDC and DB25
PIN16 is open or grounded, the P laser operates in pulse mode. When DB15 PIN13 pin receives
24V, laser-ON command starts, and the Laser output power is determined by the voltage
signal of DB15 PIN1 analog input pin and the pulse signal of DB15 PIN14 pin.

5.2.6 External control mode, "PWM" working mode

The laser is external control mode by default, and can also be switched between internal
control and external control through HMI.When the DB25 PIN15 is open or grounded and the
PIN16 is connected to 24VDC, the P laser operates in "PWM" mode. When PIN13 of DB15 is
connected to 24V, laser-on command is started, and the Laser output power will be

Page 32
The user guide P series continuous fiber laser
determined by the internal set PWM program signal.Internal PWM program can be set up to 32,
can be selected by DB25 PIN7,19,18,5,17 PWM program number, refer to the DB25 pin
definition.

Sequence diagram of "PWM" working mode in external control mode

5.2.7 External control mode, "Ramp" working mode
