PreDive Checklists
- Complete the Pre Dive checklist on a daily basis to ensure the Decompression
Chamber is ready for use.
- Repair any faults and ensure gauges and analysers are calibrated
- Air sources x 2 and O2 to be connected and online, with suitable pressure /
remaining volumes for operations.
- Chamber log book or dive sheets should be used to record pressure / times /
breathing mixture as per dive company procedures.
- No flammable materials to be taken into the chamber.
- Diving Company manuals shall take precedence to basic operation
procedures.

Chamber Operation
1. Diver to be on decompression or treatment schedule as required.
2. Bibs inlet / Dump valves to be open externally and diver to breathe O2 /
treatment mix as required. Air breaks to be taken as per selected tables.
3. Chamber depth to be monitored and adjusted as required.
4. Chamber O2 and CO2 levels to be monitored continuously. If required, flush
the atmosphere of the chamber by slightly opening inlet and exhaust valves
simultaneously. The depth should be monitored and kept constant by
adjusting one valve only (e.g., steady inlet, adjust depth using exhaust valve).
Advise the diver the chamber is being flushed.
5. Once the diver has competed his required decompression / treatment time at
depth, bleed the chamber to the surface using the exhaust valve at the
required rate. If necessary, flush the chamber during the surface bleed.
6. Once the chamber has surfaced, and the inner lock door can be opened,
secure the O2 supply at the external valve, and Bibs internal supply valves.
7. The BIBs mask should be cleaned and disinfected before the next diver uses
8. Chamber should be cleaned, dried and disinfected as required.
A) Procedural
1) The mechanical closure dog can be used to assist closure of the intermediate
chamber door between main and entry lock as required to ensure a seal is
gained
2) Once the main lock chamber is at a pressure differential, physically ensure the
dog is left opened so that the pressure differential is keeping the door closed.
If necessary, use a tie wrap or other method to keep the handle open.
3) In the event of an overpressure of the entry lock, the pressure differential will
force the door open.
B) Mechanical
1. There are two bolts on the inside of the door hinge, designed to assist the
closing the door flat. These bolts should be mechanically adjusted so that
there is a gap of approximately ¼” (6mm) under the feet of the bolts. This will
allow the door to flex inwards at the hinge side if the entry lock is pressurised,
ensuring any air overpressure is vented into the main lock where the Main
lock PRV can vent the Air.

Chamber Electrics
1. The chamber is backed up using USP should the power fail the USP will
automatically cut in given power to the chamber lights, Communication,
O2/CO2 analyser and observation camera. The O2 analyser Measuring the
atmosphere is Battery powered.
2. The failure of the USP can be bypassed using the changeover switch this
supplying mains supply to the 220v to 24vdc power supplies.
3. Chamber control panel has 2 power supplies 220v to 24vdc connected to
change over switch so should one power supply fail you can change over to
back up supply. Each circuit is protected by inline fuses. Each function has an
on /off switch Main lock lights, Entry lock lights and vitalink and medical lock
interlock solenoid has a switch on top of the medical lock to operate the
solenoid valve and a magnetic switch at the medical lock door. The solenoid
valve will only operate when medical lock door is in the closed position if door
is slightly open then the solenoid valve will not activate allowing gas into the
medical lock trunk.
